[BL]The Matchmaker Guide Doesn't Want Love
Chapter 120: Ch 120: Ethan’s home
It was decided quickly that they would all head to Ethan’s home, and by now even Ethan was convinced that he should host them all.
But Noah could still not help but feel nervous as he followed after Alan and Daniel and headed toward the largest mansion he had ever seen with his own eyes.
The driver pulled into the drop-off area before he quickly got out and opened the door for Ethan.
Alan and Daniel followed while Noah was the last one.
Noah looked up suddenly while getting out, and he noticed the look he was getting from the driver. It was one filled with ridicule and annoyance, almost as if telling him that he was far too insignificant to be invited to Ethan’s home.
"Young Master, I feel like it is my duty to inform you that your parents won’t be happy with this company you have brought along."
The driver reminded Ethan while trying to silently force him to send everyone back.
"Mind your own business. They are my guests, and I am the one who invited them."
Ethan’s expression remained calm as he spoke, but there was enough authority in his voice to make the driver immediately flustered.
"Yes, Young Master. I apologise."
The driver quickly backed off and lowered his head, no longer daring to say anything about the people Ethan had brought home.
Ethan sighed before turning around and looking at the others.
"Sorry about that. Come on, let’s head inside."
He led them toward the mansion, and Noah followed closely behind Alan and Daniel while quietly looking around.
Everything about the place was far too extravagant, from the massive entrance to the expensive decorations that seemed to be placed everywhere. Noah had seen plenty of wealthy people during his time in the labs, but this was still on an entirely different level.
Unfortunately, they did not even make it far before they ran into Ethan’s parents.
Both of them were standing near the entrance, as if they had already heard about the guests and were waiting for their son to arrive.
Ethan immediately stopped walking.
"Father, Mother, these are my friends. They will be staying here for the vacation."
The way Ethan spoke, it did not seem like he was close to his parents. But the affection could still be felt in the way the family looked at each other.
His parents looked at Alan first, their expressions remaining completely neutral. Then they looked at Daniel, and there was still no obvious reaction.
But the moment their eyes landed on Noah, something flashed across their eyes. It was subtle, but Noah noticed it immediately because he was trained for it.
Their faces twisted slightly, almost as if they had seen something they did not expect to find standing in their home.
Noah’s eyes narrowed.
’What the hell was that?’
He could not understand why they were looking at him like that. He had never met either of them before, at least not as far as he could remember.
Ethan’s parents remained silent for a few seconds, their gazes lingering on Noah. It almost felt as if they wanted to say something.
But in the end, they seemed to change their minds.
"It is nice to meet you all. Ethan, make sure you show your friends around and serve them the best tea and snacks. I need to make a call right now."
Ethan’s mother finally said with a neutral smile before she walked away.
Noah smiled back, but he could not shake the feeling that something was wrong. But maybe this was just how friends’ parents reacted when you first went to their home. After all, it was not like he had any experience in this stuff.
"Ah, we are lucky. It seems like my parents are busy, so they won’t distract us. Come, I will show you to your rooms."
Ethan led them inside, but Noah still felt like he could feel eyes on the back of his head, and it made him nervous.
He did realise that they were under constant surveillance, but he did not realise how much it bothered him until now.
"Are you alright? You keep turning back. Did my parents make you nervous? Don’t worry. They are like that with everyone. You won’t see many of them."
"Ah, that is not what’s bothering me. It’s just...being under surveillance is not my thing."
Noah pointed out, and Ethan made a noise of understanding.
"I see. Well, unfortunately, my parents are paranoid and need to have cameras all over. Not that I don’t understand. We have too much valuable stuff that can be stolen anytime. Cameras are a must at this point."
Noah nodded, showing that he understood, and Ethan continued leading them through the mansion before showing them to their different rooms.
However, Alan immediately complained as soon as he heard that they would be staying in separate rooms.
"Wait, why are we staying in different rooms? I want to stay in the same room as Noah."
Alan pointed out with a dissatisfied expression, clearly unwilling to accept the arrangement.
Daniel immediately looked at him with suspicion.
"And why exactly do you need to stay in the same room as Noah?"
"Just because I want to. Why are you jealous?"
Alan answered without hesitation, as if that explained everything.
Daniel narrowed his eyes.
"That does not mean you need to sleep in the same room while we are staying here."
Alan frowned at him.
"Then what is your problem? Are you planning to stay with Noah instead? You want to play roommates here as well?"
Daniel did not answer immediately, which was enough of an answer for Alan.
"I knew it. You just want to be alone with him."
"I never said that."
"You did not have to."
Ethan watched the two espers argue for a few seconds before letting out a tired sigh.
He had already started regretting his decision to invite them.
"Alright, alright. There is no need to argue about this. I have a room large enough for all three of you. You can stay there together if that solves the problem."
Both Alan and Daniel immediately stopped arguing and looked at Ethan.
Noah, however, looked a little confused.
"Are you sure that is alright? We don’t want to cause you any trouble."
"It is fine. We have plenty of rooms, and honestly, this seems like the easiest solution."
Ethan shrugged before leading them toward one of the larger guest rooms.
Noah followed after him while Alan looked satisfied and Daniel seemed resigned to his fate.
’I have a feeling this vacation is going to be far more troublesome than I expected.’
