Blood Primordial: Start With S-Rank Blood Dragon Bloodline
Chapter 61: End of Zombie Knight
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The dozens of bloodline awakeners attacked, some charged for close combat, while the bloodline awakeners who can attack from long range attacked from a distance, giving the close combatant required support; otherwise, they would die in a single attack.
Max also attacked with blood bullets from time to time when needed. Each Blood Bullet was extremely powerful, like being struck by a small cannon.
The Zombie Knight couldn’t simply ignore them.
The more they fought, the more they adjusted to the zombie knight’s attack patterns. The Zombie Knight was fast and strong, but just like the previous zombies, its patterns of attack were kind of predictable.
And since they overcame the fear, it became easier for them to handle it.
But even though they were able to fight back, they also weren’t able to injure it at all. This made the battle remain in a stalemate.
The bone and flesh of the zombie knight were harder than any armour. So bloodline awakeners weren’t able to do anything to it, and only attacks at the level of the transformation realm would be capable of seriously injuring it.
Max naturally understood this, so he was slowly gathering his blood power, and he was going to use his best blood explosion to destroy this Zombie Knight.
He silently also signaled the bloodline awakeners to be ready to clear the path. The power of blood explosion is terrifying, and everything in its way would be destroyed, so he needed to be careful; otherwise, the bloodline awakeners fighting in front might get caught in it.
He silently gathered and concentrated his blood power. His control was better, and it was a level beyond his previous uses. He wouldn’t blow his hands this time, but he needed to focus during the aim.
The timing needed to be perfect; otherwise, this zombie knight might be able to dodge it with its terrifying speed.
Time passed slowly; the bloodline awakener started to get tired as they had given their all at every moment to face the zombie knight. They needed perfect concentration, and this caused them to drain their strength mentally and physically many times faster.
Not to mention they were just barely hanging on, unable to do any true damage.
Max was finally ready and finally signalled. "Move!"
His voice was loud and clear, and quickly the close combat bloodline awakeners moved away, but the long-distance bloodline awakeners didn’t stop; they attacked more rapidly to hold it.
Max naturally wouldn’t let go of this chance that everyone created together and fired.
Boom!
Blood explosion!
The shockwave produced when he released the attack shook his entire body, even forcing him backwards.
The ground beneath his feet cracked from the tremendous force.
A beam of blood filled with terrifying power and speed shot directly toward the Zombie Knight.
It cannot dodge it, as he was stopped by other bloodline awakeners’ attacks. The beam of blood slammed directly onto its bones and flesh armour.
The terrifying force immediately sent the Zombie Knight flying backwards.
Then—
Boom!
The blood beam exploded like a missile.
The explosion was terrifying.
In an instant, dozens of meters around the Zombie Knight were engulfed in a crimson cloud of blood.
The ground was completely destroyed, leaving behind a crater more than ten meters in radius.
Everyone was shocked by the devastating power of Max’s blood explosion. It was beyond terrifying, as such a kind of power nobody would be able to handle. Its power definitely reached the transformation realm.
The crimson cloud of the explosion slowly disappeared, and finally a destroyed body of a zombie knight was lying within the crater. Half of its body seemed to have disappeared, and it seemed it was finally dead.
But Stella noticed something. "Master, it still has a bit of spiritual power, and that is slowly gathering in its brain."
Her voice echoed in Max’s mind, and immediately he became serious.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
He started to fire multiple blood bullets, aiming at its skull.
"It’s still alive! Aim at its skull!" He shouted as he attacked. The others were shocked to see him attack, but hearing that it was still alive, the others didn’t hesitate and attacked again. They didn’t want to give it any chance.
At that moment, they all saw a small movement as its rotten red eyes seemed to move. This made them sure to attack with their all.
Boom! Bang! Boom!
They attacked for a minute, no stopping. Max also fired many Blood bullets, and only when that skull was shattered into thousands of pieces did they stop.
"Phew, finally it seems to end."
As one of the bloodline awakeners said, taking a deep breath of relief. The other bloodline awakeners also showed the same reaction.
Max looked at distant Stella, who nodded. "Master, it seems really dead, as it was destroyed before he could use the remaining spiritual energy within it."
Hearing her words in his mind, he also finally felt relieved. They had somehow managed to finish the battle. And he didn’t even need to use his trump card.
As the battle ended, they started to take healing potions or apply some kind of first aid. Many were injured; some were quite heavily, as the battle at last moments was nerve-racking, especially for close combatants.
A single wrong move and they would have died in the rotten hands of the zombie knight.
Max and Stella were alright as they calmly walked towards the so-called remains of the zombie knight. It was sure it was a creation of some spiritual awakener, and they wanted to see if this zombie knight left something behind after its death.
According to Stella, usually when creating something like this, they need a core material that connects it to their owners, which usually can stay even after the creation is fully destroyed. It is also the most expensive item and can be sold on the black market for a hefty price.
After learning this, Max couldn’t help but feel strange.
What kind of memory loss was this? Stella seemed to remember almost everything except who she was.
Not to mention the strange connection between them. Could he have somehow formed a contract with her, similar to a master-servant contract?
He felt this might be possible and this might have really happened, but he quickly calmed down; if that was true, then it was really great.
Max quickly put those thoughts aside and began searching through the rubble. The area had been completely destroyed by his Blood Explosion.
As he searched, he and Stella soon discovered something buried beneath the rubble. They found a thin, greyish skin that seemed to remain intact somehow even after facing such a devastating attack.
It was smooth like a piece of silk, surprising him, but according to Stella, some high-level beast skins can be like this. This skin, although it appeared to have nothing much, with all his strength, wasn’t able to tear it or even damage it a bit.
Seeing this, he believed that the zombie knight’s durability might be because of this.
Stella takes a look at it and says, "Master it; it must be skin from quite a high-level monster, even surpassing a transformation level. " Although it was just a small portion of skin, its value would be amazing on the black market."
Max’s eyes glowed at hearing this, but he remained calm, as this was a matter about the future. But everything is going quite well, as not only has he improved his strength in the last few days, but he also has a spiritual weapon and enough money to settle down.
The future that looked dark and gloomy at first seemed to have changed a lot in just a few days.
He put the skin in his storage ring, and quickly all the surviving bloodline awakeners gathered.
The bloodline awakener from the Flameheart family looked at everyone and said, "Thank you all for fighting until the bitter end and showing such bravery until the final moment. Especially you, Max. Without your help, it might have been impossible for us to defeat that Zombie Knight. Consider this a debt we owe you."
As he said this, everyone else looked toward Max and nodded.
"We will repay that debt!"
They said it together before breaking into laughter.
Max also laughed.
After some brief conversation, they once again split up as the beast tide hadn’t fully ended.
Max and Stella, along with Andrew and Mathew, were sent back to the outer walls of the eastern gate. As there were still some beasts that were trying to breach the city.
As they arrived at the eastern gate, they immediately heard the loud noise of the clash of transformation realm experts and the massive centipede-looking abomination.
It seemed the battle was still going on, and they hadn’t been able to defeat it. They quickly climbed the walls and saw that the battle outside the eastern gate had reached a climax.
The five transformation realm experts seemed to be going to make big moves against the centipede abomination.
