Chapter 409: Endless Death Rhapsody

  • Next Chapter

Vaelthar brought the freezing steel axe down on the tiny human—it almost looked like a mountain was falling towards him!

Fang Raon, fearlessly, swung the Blackest Blade towards the axe and clashed with its freezing icy edge.

The axe got parried to the side, and it smashed into the ground next to him.

Perfect Parry!

Fang Raon bent his knees—the ground under him started shaking and cracking—he then jumped high into the air.

[You’re evolving...]

’I will survive... and I will find you, Xiao Yue.’

Fang Raon’s eyes started crackling with lightning, and then he swung the Blackest Blade through the air.

He cut through the air!

In that moment, the air in front of him started shaking, and a shockwave blast shot forward like a cannon.

BOOM~!

It hit Vaelthar in the belly and sent him stumbling back, and he fell down on his throne—he sat down on the throne unwillingly.

"Whoo!"

Fang Raon screamed, lifted the sword high above his head, and the Blackest Blade started glowing.

BLACK LIGHT BURST OUT.

The ceiling started falling apart. It was as if it had been cut. Everything started to get cut into pieces!

"ROA!"

Vaelthar grabbed the freezing steel axe with both hands and swung it with every inch of power that came from his muscles!

Fang Raon increased the weight of the Blackest Blade—he also activated Maxima—and poured every bit of power that came from his legacy.

[Aurel’s Legacy is transforming...]

[...]

[It had been transformed into Fang Raon’s Legacy!]

"Perfect Slash!"

Fang Raon cut through the air.

The freezing steel axe got cut in half. The belly of the King of the Ice Elves started bleeding. Blood and organs spilled onto the ground, staining it red.

"ROAAAAAAAAAA!"

Vaelthar’s scream echoed throughout the village. Throughout the forest. Throughout the entire floor.

...

Ice Elves, who were chasing after the animals, heard the scream of their king, and they realized something was going on.

They all started heading back, running like their lives depended on it, and the female Ice Elves arrived back at the village first.

However.

They then saw that the gates were closed.

Without further ado, they started blasting the gate with their spells, but it stayed closed, as it had been protected with the King’s magic.

However.

Little by little, the magic gate started to show signs of cracking.

Elsewhere, at the local tribe, they also heard the scary-sounding scream that sounded like it came from depths of hell.

"...What is going on?"

Rah’Gah, still feeling his head pound with a headache, looked towards the sound with fear in his eyes.

The rest of the locals sat down. Prayed with their hands clasped and heads bowed, hoping for safety from whatever was causing the terrifying noise.

...

BOOM~!

The village gates slammed open, and Ice Elves rushed inside the village, and they headed straight for the building.

To their shock, when they finally arrived there, the building had completely collapsed like a poorly built sandcastle!

And in there.

Was a beheaded corpse of their King—sitting on his knees on the ground—with the broken shaft of the axe on his left hand and his beheaded head in front of him.

"..."

Fang Raon, with his sword dripping with blood, slowly turned his head around and saw the Ice Elves.

[Next Level: 99%...]

"Come on..."

Fang Raon turned around and slowly started walking towards the shocked Ice Elves—who were feeling a mixture of emotions.

Mostly anger.

"!!!!!!"

Female Ice Elves screamed angrily at the sight of their dead king, and they pointed their weapons at Fang Raon.

They were shouting at everyone to go kill him immediately.

All Ice Elves, except the children, ran straight for Fang Raon—screaming at the top of their lungs like savages.

"Fang Raon’s Thousand Blade Requiem."

Fang Raon stabbed the black sword into the ground, and at that moment, thousands of blades appeared all around in the air.

He then swung the blade.

The flying blades started flying through the air—the Ice Elves were not ready—the blades stabbed through them.

A few survived, and with anger, jumped for Fang Raon—wanting to rip his head off—their freezing steel swords came for his head.

In that moment.

Fang Raon blocked one of the swords, then tilted his head just enough so that the second sword narrowly missed him.

Then.

He stabbed his finger through the throat of one of the Ice Elves and then used the Blackest Blade to slice through the other elf’s chest.

Dead!

Female Ice Elves all rushed at him!

[Next Level: 100%]

[LEVEL UP!]

"...Heh."

Fang Raon just smirked, and his eyes blackened, and his beautiful black hair started raising like a demon’s.

He slid the sword back into the sheath.

"Fang Raon’s Endless Death Rhapsody!"

He then drew his sword again—dangerous black light erupted from the scabbard—it swept through the air.

And at that moment...

Every Female Ice Elf got their bodies cut!

"..."

Fang Raon watched as everyone around him fell like flies.

...

31st Floor, late at night.

Xiao Yue was sitting on top of a rug in the bedroom of her guild building—her beautiful grimoire book open in front of her.

She was twirling a pen in her hand, but she couldn’t concentrate on making new spells, as all her thoughts were occupied by certain someone.

’Come on... Stop thinking about him already!’

Xiao Yue slapped herself in the face, but she did feel guilty, as there was a voice at the back of her mind saying that she might’ve jumped the gun.

However.

What happened back in high school traumatized her so much that she did not want to trust anyone so blindly anymore.

It would just lead to more pain.

Knock~! Knock~!

A knock sounded on the door, and Xiao Yue softly said, "Yes?" and the door then opened—opened by Graham.

"I am logging out. Are you staying much longer?"

Graham asked.

"No, I will be logging out soon as well. Good night."

Xiao Yue said with her usual cold tone—which she often showed to everybody—and Graham had gotten used to it.

He didn’t think that he had ever seen her smile before—her smiles were reserved to only special people, after all.

Graham nodded, then closed the door, and softly afterwards, logged out of the game altogether.

He thought that she was going to be fine even without him—she was inside their guild building and inside a Safe Zone.

There was no way something would happen.

It had become quiet in the guild compound—most had already gone to sleep—there were just a few members still walking outside on the yard.

The guild compound was shaped like a fortress, with high walls and guards stationed at every entrance. The building itself was square, with a large courtyard in the center and many open hallways.

There weren’t a lot of places to hide if somebody did try to sneak inside.

Behind her, out of her view, the window to her bedroom started opening slightly—like an invisible hand was lifting it up.

A wind started breezing in.

"Hmm?"

Xiao Yue turned her head around, saw the open window, and walked towards it, and then pushed it down to close it.

She looked outside the window but couldn’t see anyone, so she just shrugged her shoulders and turned around.

At that moment.

Her eyes widened.

There was a person leaning against the wall of her bedroom—his black hair and blue eyes filled with intensity.

"H-how..."

Xiao Yue swallowed nervously, taking a step back as her heart raced with fear.

"Why did you do it? I don’t think I’ve done anything bad to you. On the contrary, I believe I’ve helped you tremendously.

"At one moment, you were hellbent on being my friend, and then next, you are trying to get me killed."

Fang Raon asked with a frown.

This incident proved that he had no idea what was going on in women’s minds sometimes—they were like a puzzle.

"...You shouldn’t have come here."

Xiao Yue summoned her grimoire to her hand, and she instantly turned into the Demon Queen—the wings and the horns on her head gave her an imposing presence.

"I am just wanting answers because you hurt me. You better have a good explanation."

Fang Raon touched with his hand on the sword’s hilt that dangled from his waist.

"Do you think I am scared of you? I think you’ve forgotten who I am."

Xiao Yue said with her cold, cool look.

She was most likely the strongest Mage in the world now with Hermes’ death—even though Fang Raon had gotten stronger, he was not quite at her level yet!

Fang Raon moved—his hand grabbed the sword hilt and started pulling it out of the scabbard—at the same time, Xiao Yue cast her spell.

A dark flame ball shot out of one of the pages, but then Fang Raon sliced through the spell and appeared right in front of Xiao Yue’s face.

’Fast!’

Xiao Yue thought with her eyes widening in shock.

"Women... I swear to god, you’re all giving me a headache."

Fang Raon grabbed her and then pushed her down on the bed—he leaned over her and pinned her arms above her head.

"...Ah?"

Xiao Yue’s eyes widened even further in surprise, and her cheeks turned red.
