Chapter 274: The fan speculations

Seoha’s POV

There’s a high-pitched ringing inside my ear.

Even in the car as Taerin noona curses her brother out in English, the ringing continues, and it doesn’t stop when she stops for the red light.

Sooin looks scared of her aunt’s anger even though she doesn’t understand.

"Noona...it’s okay, you shouldn’t be mad at him" I say softly and I almost whimper when she glares at me from the mirror.

"Of course you’re blinded by love, why would you even defend that stone headed idiot?" she asks and I wince, covering Sooin’s ears.

"Noona" I whine and she breathes out.

"He knows he has an omega and three babies; he shouldn’t act that way, cheating is unacceptable" she says, stepping on the accelerator as the yellow light turns green.

"He isn’t cheating" I defend Taesan.

"Wow"

"He’s not cheating, really, I know him and I trust him" I say softly and Taerin noona huffs.

"What is a cheating, daddy?" Sooin asks and Taerin groans loudly, "don’t think about it princess, it’s not important" she says and the little girl looks at me with questioning eyes.

The Kang family, the family where they act first and think later.

"Don’t think about it, Innah. We’re going to see Uncle Minnie and his baby" I whisper and she smiles happily, successfully distracted by me.

The car goes quiet as everyone gets busy with different things; noona is still mumbling about her younger brother, Sooin is watching cars, and I’m left to myself and my thoughts.

’Alpha will rather eat rock than be in the same space as Jaemin’ my omega says and I nod to myself because it’s true.

Taesan hates that omega so much, not just because of what the man did to him, but also because of the heartache he has caused Sooin.

I open my phone and go to my X app for entertainment, but instead of the usual goofy updates, I am greeted with the same image that was on the news.

They are going into the elevator together, Taesan’s hand is around Jaemin, and Jaemin looks like he’s resting against my mate.

I scroll down and I see the same image with a caption.

I don’t know why but I click on the post and there are so many comments; so many emojis, reactions gifs, and videos of Jaemin.

Looking at them, I am reminded of how beautiful he is. He still has those manly features, yet he’s beautiful. He has been red head for a very long time now, yet he makes it feel natural.

@InLuvWithJaemin: it’s definitely Sky High’s Jaemin guys. It’s the same hair color and remember Jaemin wore that red dress from Mountain Atelier earlier.

I leave the post and scroll even lower for something else.

I really blame myself for all the times I used love and support idol Jaemin. My entire feed is full of him and the next thing I see is a short clip of Taesan leaving the elevator with Jaemin.

The caption reads: I bet they fucked nasty in there #JaeSan.

The omega, Jaemin, looks roughed up. His handsome face is red, and Taesan’s face is blank.

I watch the video and pay attention to the small details; Taesan’s jaw is clenched, his hand is reaching for his breast pocket, maybe looking for the pack of cigarettes he doesn’t smoke.

He must have attempted murder in that elevator, but the internet won’t see that, they don’t know my Taesan as well as I do.

"We’re here at the hospital" Taerin says and I shut off the screen of my phone.

"Uncle Minnie is here too?" Sooin asks and I nod, patting her head to ground myself.

"I’ll come pick you two in a few minutes, okay? call me if you need anything, Junho is here and he can help you with translations in case you have to talk to the nurses" Taerin says.

"I understand, thank you Noona" I say, getting out of the car with Sooin.

As soon as we step out, Sooin spots Junho and runs over to him, wrapping her arms around him to give him a big hug.

"Uncle Junnie!" she squeals and he picks her up.

"Hey, princess" Junho says, he sounds stiff as always, but there’s softness directed only to Sooin.

"I missed you" my daughter wraps her arms around his neck, and he rubs her back, "I know, I missed you too princess" he says, looking up to find me.

"Hello" I greet shyly, giving him a shy smile as I go closer to him, and the tall man opens his arm to give me a hug.

Strange.

I guess fatherhood does this to you.

"I saw the news about that man, I know you trust Taesan, right?" he asks and I nod.

"I know he wouldn’t do anything to hurt me" I say and he breathes a sigh of relief, "he’s lucky to have you, come on, Minjae will be surprised to see you" he leads me into the hospital.

The building still feels oppressing, but it’s not as scary as that first time.

The smell is less sharp, the noise is less panic inducing, and the feeling is less commanding.

Junho leads me up the stairs and down the hall to a private room where I find Minjae with his arms folded and his bottom lip jutted out.

Even as the door opens and I step in first, he doesn’t look at the door.

"You better have a good reason for leaving me all by myself" the omega says and I chuckle softly at my friend’s behavior, putting my ’Taesan worries’ aside.

"Minnie, it’s me" I say and he turns his head sharply.

"Seo-ya number one!" he yells with excitement and I laugh as I rush to his side to hug him.

"Seo-ya number one? Is that a new nickname"

"Of course, I have to specify now that I have two Seos in my life" he grins and I blink.

"What are you talking about?" I ask with a whisper and he grins at me.

"Guess what I named my baby"

"Minnie..." my eyes fill with tears.

"My baby’s name is Seo-Jun, Oh SeoJun" he says.
