Chapter 272: The news of the elevator

Seoha’s POV

He doesn’t sound like he’s okay

Taesan ends the call and my bottom lip wobbles again. My eyes are still burning with unshed tears as I fight against the tears.

I hate that I cry so much.

I need to start acting more grown up and stop crying about everything, I’m about to become a mother to two more pups, and Taesan needs a strong mate.

"You’re ready to sleep now?" Noona asks and I nod before handing the phone back to her.

She looks at me with a gentleness that makes me feel more sad about myself, I feel like she’s pitying me.

"I’m okay, noona" I say and she chuckles.

"Clearly" she gets out of the chair and adjusts her dress, still looking at me with those eyes.

"I know you’re not okay, remember we’re making new happy moments, right?" she says and I nod.

That’s true.

I’m rewriting our lives.

I’ll fill the blank spaces where happy moments of the past should have been with happy moments of the present.

"Can I go see Minjae tomorrow morning?" I ask and she nods, "I will let you, only if you sleep and you’re strong enough"

"I already feel strong enough" I say, blushing as she shakes her head at me.

"You and Taesan are a perfect fit for each other, I don’t understand why he would even call you when it’s just four a.m. over there" she tsks.

"Go to sleep Seoha, I’m serious" Taerin says before leaving.

Once she’s gone, I shut my eyes and try to sleep, but my attempt is cut short by the door swinging open and a small person sneaking in.

I smell her before I see her.

It’s Sooin.

"Daddy? are you asleep?" she asks.

"Yes" I respond with a whisper, and I see her bottom lip pushing out to form a cute pout.

"But I want you" she whines and I laugh softly, "come here, pup" I say, moving to the side for her to get into the bed.

The bed dips and my worries for Taesan subside as Sooin lays next to me.

And maybe it’s because I’m telling myself a new truth.

Taesan has survived this long for Sooin’s sake, I’m sure he’ll do even better for the twins.

"What’s the matter, honey?" I ask Sooin, bringing her even closer to my side.

Me and the pup lie face to face in silence until she places her hand on my cheek and looks into my eyes.

"Are you having a baby?" she asks and I freeze.

Taesan and I didn’t think or plan to tell her about it yet...she doesn’t even know she’s my real pup too.

"Why do you say so, do I look like I’m having a baby?" I ask softly.

"You smell like Uncle Minnie when baby was inside of him" she says, moving closer to me.

Oh...this precious baby.

"You’re right, Innah, I’m having a baby" I say and she whines.

"You’re going to forget about me" she says and I pull back just enough to see her face better.

"What did you say?" my heart bleeds for her.

"You won’t want me anymore when you have your baby, and-and I won’t have a mama" she says.

The little girl is crying silently while I laugh softly at her, even though my own eyes are getting wet.

"Honey, I will never do that" I say and she shakes her head.

"My mom went away and didn’t want me" she whimpers.

Oh...it’s more serious than I thought.

"Baby don’t say that. I want you here, I always want you here. I’m even more happy because you’ll be the best big sister in the world" I tell her.

"Really?" she asks through her little sniffling and I nod.

"Yes, you’re precious to me" I tell her and the little cries subside, "don’t cry, hmm?" I tell her softly.

I went from crying to telling my little girl not to cry, what a day.

"I miss Uncle Minnie" she says as she pushes her thumb into her mouth. I laugh gently before pulling it out.

"Don’t do that, baby" I scold her lightly, and to make up for it, I pull her even closer and release my pheromones for her.

We both fall asleep and I dream of nothing.

Goddess knows how long I slept, but when I wake up, I feel more refreshed than I’ve felt in a while.

The headache is there but milder, and my chest feels less tight...maybe I just needed Sooin next to me.

I kiss my sleeping daughter’s head.

"Breakfast" Yuki’s voice calls from outside, and I wake Sooin.

She waits for me to get ready for my day in the bathroom, and when I’m done, she returns to her room with Yuki behind her.

"I can’t believe she got past my security" the woman says.

"She’s Taesan’s daughter" I respond with pride going down the stairs for my breakfast while Yuki waits for Sooin.

"Good morning, did you sleep well?" Taerin noona asks and I greet her with a bow, "yes, I feel much better"

"I hope you’re not lying. We leave for the hospital soon, so you’ll get to see Minjae" she says and I grin as go to pick up baby Keeho.

"You don’t have to, I have someone coming over to help with the babies" Taerin unnie says and I rub my nose against Keeho’s nose.

"I can do this noona" I say, taking Keeho to his high seat and help the little boy into it.

I can’t wait to see Minjae.

The thought of being with him lifts my mood even more.

"Can you manage eating and feeding him at the same time?" noona asks as she passes a plate of eggs and bacon to me.

"Noona, stop babying me, I can take care of it" I say, pouting at how she coddles me.

"Have you seen yourself? You’re so cute, how can I not baby you?" she rolls her eyes at me and I smile at her.

"Can I put on the news?" Yuki asks loudly as she comes down the stairs with Sooin behind her.

"On low volume" Taerin noona calls back, sitting down to attend to two babies at once.

Yuki puts on the T.V and I look up to see what’s happening.

They are speaking in English, so I only pay attention to the pictures and videos. Maybe I’ll ask Taesan to teach me English.

The picture changes to Taesan’s image and I straighten my back, paying closer attention.

"Oh my goddess" Taerin mutters under her breath.

"Noona, what are they talking about?" I ask and she shakes her head, "Yuki, put it off" she yells.

And before Yuki puts it off, I see why she’s panicking.

It’s a censored video of Taesan and another person in the elevator...and it’s not just any person.

Even through the censored video, I see the red hair.
