Beyond Chaos – A DiceRPG
[1738] – Y07.238 – The Children Are So Cute VIII
As Adam continued to heal up, there were others within the Iyr who had also begun their training in earnest, for they had six good months left in the rest of the year.
Korin ran lightly every morning and evening, and during the morning he completed one set of his prayers, and then a second during noon, and a third during the evening, and considering his prayers were to Lady Arya, the Goddess of War, swinging his sword was perfect as a prayer to her. He did read from his holy texts, however.
Sometimes.
Thankfully, Dunes, too, accompanied him, although it was he who hummed lightly, and sang the warsongs, which allowed them to follow a rhythm for their swordplay.
While the pair did so, a mother approached another, though technically one was a Kal, and the other a Ray.
“I have found myself wanting to firm up my muscles recently,” Amira admitted, the young woman flexing her arms. “Would you care to join me, Ray?”
Vonda smiled warmly, and since she had already begun her training in earnest, allowed Amira to join her, and the two began to work up a sweat every evening and every night, each also completing various runs, and swung heavy clubs, and worked on mostly their lower body strength.
“Aila, aila, check this out!” Jirot said, and she inhaled deeply, exhaling, inhaling, and then she ran and leapt through the air, and within her mind, she flew.
“Amazing!” Sara declared, holding out a hand, highfiving the girl, and as the rest of the children began to show her their new techniques they were learning, she praised them all. ‘I hope my children are as dear as they.’
As the days passed, Adam healed up, looking no different than usual, though a touch thinner.
There was one day where he looked towards the sky in the morning, having lightly begun his workouts again, and at breakfast he was thinking about how he missed his darling cousin. However, he stood, and as he cracked his back, he led his children forward, and Jirot spoiled the visit to the business, as she rushed forward.
“Mustafa, Mustafa!” the girl called, stopping ahead of him.
Mustafa blinked towards her. He smiled, flushing slightly.
“Did you think I would forget?” Adam asked.
The boy nodded lightly.
“You brat…” However, he handed the boy a sword, one he had bought from the swordsmith. “How can I forget you when you are so handsome?”
Mustafa flushed, and smiled some more. “Thank you, mister Adam…”
“You speak the Aldish tongue so well now, little Mustafa. My daughter does not even need to speak Aswadic with you any longer.”
Mustafa continued to flush and smile shyly, his heart thundering in his chest, for he hadn’t expected the half elf to come visit him.
“Watch this, okay?”
“Okay.”
Adam circled a finger along the rim of his cup, on the outside, away from where his lips would touch, he turned to look at Jirot, who narrowed her eyes towards him.
The boy looked down and then saw how it had formed into ice, the boy revealing it to his various siblings.
“Okay, okay, check this out…” Adam then turned the ice back to water with his magic, and cast his magic upon it, chilling it lightly, and then…
Mustafa drank it and gasped again. “Banana!”
“Right!” Adam grinned wide. “Now, Mustafa, I’m going to give your ahm Bilal some money, but it’s your money, okay. If you want to spend it when you are a big boy, a bigger boy, when you are ten, then you can ask your ahm for it, okay?”
“Okay!”
“But…” Adam looked around, noting the way Zainab was looking at him, and he dropped to a knee and handed the boy a large silver dragon. “This is yours, okay?”
“Okay!”
“Do you know how much it’s worth?”
“No.”
“One hundred silver.”
The boy gasped. “One hundred?”
“Yeah, right!”
“Wow!”
“You are such a good boy, Mustafa. I’m sure your ahm is so proud of you.”
The boy flushed again, and as Adam thought he was a cute boy, he highfived the boy and pulled back, turning towards Zainab.
“…”
“…”
“…”
“I wonder, have I forgotten anyone else’s birthday?”
The girl’s lips trembled slightly.
Adam reached into his pocket and withdrew a silver dragon, offering it to her. “I also bought you a sword, though it’s with your ahm, and in the future-,” As Mustafa began to draw his sword, Adam grabbed it, turning towards Bilal, who stared at Adam awkwardly. Adam offered it to him. “Let’s let your ahm keep a hold of it, and he can watch over you as you both use your swords, okay?”
“Okay!”
Adam’s heart throbbed lightly. ‘These two punks. Did they think I wouldn’t look out for them? Seriously, seriously…’
However, seeing as the business was in the middle of celebrating his birthday too, he slipped away, making sure to greet the other children, and John and the triplets before making his way out.
“Giving gifts feels so good, daddy…” Jirot said, her hands clasped behind her back.
“Isn’t it?”
“It is, it is,” the girl said, nodding her head.
“What about you?”
“Yes!” Konarot declared.
“Sometimes,” Kirot said.
Karot turned to look at his older sister, who smirked playfully, and the children cackled towards Kirot, who was her father’s daughter, her sister’s sister.
The next morning, the day in which he would normally take the day off, he and his children made their way along with their various papos and kakos, and began to work the fields around the walls of the Front Iyr.
‘When it comes to numbers, Churot is unmatched, though the second to him is Jirot, and yet when it comes to checking the soil…’
Jirot and Jarot squatted near the soil, picking it up within their hands, sniffing it lightly, and as they turned their heads, they found their sentinel of a father squatting beside them, eyes ever present.
‘You think I will not tell mummy?’ Adam’s brows said.
“I am not going to eat it, daddy…” Jirot replied, in a way which suggested she had thought about it, just this once.
Adam’s brows raised pointed towards her once more.
The girl placed the dirt down, and as she and her brother murmured, they turned to the nearby Iyrman, a figure adorned all in dark green, hiding much of their form to the world.
“It is good for this year,” Jirot assured.
“Thank you,” the Shaman said, as though she hadn’t known, but the point was, would the twins be able to figure out which of the soil was not ready?
Yes, apparently, as the children even managed to figure out which soil was barely acceptable, and, even more impressively, much to even the Shaman’s surprise, the girl had counted roughly which seeds would be enough for them to have a tenth surplus, and which fields would require rest for the year, unless it received magical treatment from the Shamans or Priests of Nahtu.
“It is a shame we will be unable to take the twins…” The Shaman mused, however, the old Mad Dog had stepped away to go see his grandson the day previous.
“If you take us, I will stop babo, but then you must apologise, and you must return us,” Jirot said.
The Shaman closed her eyes. ‘She truly is so funny…’
