[1736] – Y07.236 – The Children Are So Cute VI

  • Next Chapter

It was the next morning when it happened.

Adam, gaunt and pale, stared down at the girl.

She sat, her cheeks puffed out, and as she stared at all those ahead of her, her eyes full of exhaustion, she understood today was a day of exhaustion.

Yet she was adorned in blue attire, that which matched the tattoos she would one day wear, though it was darker under her papo’s shadow, as Adam engulfed the girl within his arms.

“You are so cute, so cute!” Adam said, having regained his strength enough to pick up the chonky little girl. He planted a great many kisses all along her cheeks, showering her in affection and praise.

“Pap! Poh!” Monarot replied, squirming away from him, but as Adam nuzzled her cheek, the girl stopped resisting, for though her papo looked so different, he felt the same.

Adam stared at his brother, who glared down at him in return. “You can't take her away from me today...”

Jurot, however, showed no mercy, and held out his arms. “Monarot. Come to dada.”

Monarot held out her arms for him, the girl squealing with delight. “Dada!”

“Monarot, how can you betray me like this?” Adam whined, though he surrendered the girl to her father.

The two embraced one another tightly, exchanging kisses, a firm kiss from daughter to father, and a firm kiss from father to daughter, a much less wet firm kiss.

“You…” Adam sniffled, but he handed the girl a shield, one that he had forged through his magic, with the symbol of the Rot family upon it, though the giant inner circle was almost as large as the shield, and the triangles were about as large as one’s nail. “I will have it enchanted, and then your father can take it and bring back a good story.”

“Oo!” Monarot replied, reaching up to poke her papo’s cheek, feeling how thin it was, and how firm, causing the girl to pull away her finger in confusion.

“Let her go!” Jarot exclaimed. “She is my greatdaughter.”

“She's my niece! I want to hold her.” Adam exclaimed, as the two fought over the girl, but she was firmly nestled within the castle that was her father’s arms. However, eventually the young man relented, allowing his grandfather to play with the girl, and since she was finally two years old, he had to allow many to spoil her that day.

“Monarot is too cute, Jurot.” Adam hummed to himself quietly.

“She is not too cute.”

“What?” Adam gasped. “How can you say that?”

“She is perfectly cute.”

Adam blinked, turning to look to Monarot, and he took in his brother’s words. “No, no. You're right.”

Pam took her daughter away from them, for she was the girl’s mother, and the sun known as a mother was brighter than them all. Pam fed the girl from her teet, without realising it would be perhaps the last time. Meanwhile, little Pamarot glared towards her uncle and father, holding up her fists, as though ready to fight.

”Look at her, Jurot,” Adam called, noting the look within the girl’s eyes. “That innocent little face.”

‘Innocent?’ Jurot thought.

“She's going to be so mischievous when she grows up.”

“She will grow up well.”

Adam hoisted Pamarot up, who glared up towards him. “Who gave you permission to grow up?”

“Boo,” the girl replied.

“What? I did? When?”

“Googoo,” the girl replied, reaching up to suck her thumb after speaking such audacious words to her uncle, glaring at him as the half elf held her.

Xarot waddled over, grabbing his father’s elbow, staring up at him. The boy blinked.

“What? It's not your birthday yet you silly boy.” Adam stared down at his son, but immediately caved, handing Pamarot to Jurot, and he lifted his son up, kissing the boy’s forehead, causing him to smile and cackle, and the two hugged one another.

“Daddy!” Virot called, rushing over to her father. “Daddy! Kaka is giving gift. Virot give gift. Daddy, Virot is going to give best gift.”

“I know you are, because you are so lovely, aren’t you?” Adam mused.

“No!” Virot cackled, retreating away, and she decided to cause a storm of trouble for her kakas and papas.

Adam held the girl within his sights, and then the rest of the children. Monarot refused her mother’s teet, and instead reached up to embrace her cousin, the amber eyes instantly surrendering to her younger cousin, and the two embraced. Indeed, for the only one that spent more time with Monarot than the girl’s own father and uncle was the girl herself, only second to the girl’s own mother. Jirot planted a firm kiss on the girl’s nose.

“Thanks, Jurot.”

“For what?”

“Everything.”

Jurot glanced aside, towards the children, who were planting firm kisses on his daughter. He bowed his head, and said no more.

It was in this atmosphere, the brother’s soaked in one another’s gratitude.

As Pam held little Jarot upon her lap, she slowly trailed her eyes towards the woman beside her, who held little Jirot, and her own daughter. It was she, whose half burnt face revealed to the world, who was her sister in law.

Pam blinked.

‘How did I become a sister in law to a Ray?’

The woman’s eyes then turned towards the old Jarot, who poked Monarot’s nose, causing the girl to squeal. Indeed, it was he, the Mad Dog, who was her husband’s grandfather, and her own daughter’s great grandfather. It was he, this Mad Dog, who was the nightmare to many, and who was the same man who beat the Full Moon, a woman who was a Paragon, yet he certainly wasn’t.

However, he was not the only great grandfather to this girl, for Bam picked the girl up, and she stared at him long and hard, flushing lightly, turning away from him.

“Bwahaha! She recognises only one of her greatfathers, for this greatfather of hers, did he not-,” Jarot exclaimed, only for Jirot to point towards him with a blade like finger.

‘Should I train so I can beat the Full Moon?’ Bam mused within his mind, but he was a baker, so would need to earn her heart through the same way as her mother and father enjoyed. His eyes slowly trailed to the side, towards the sniffling Lanarot, who also allowed one to earn her trust through bread.

“They grow up so fast!” Lanarot cried.
