Beauty Chairwoman’s Bodyguard Expert
Chapter 2306 - 2279: You’re Not Afraid I’ll Get Angry?
Stepping into the vegetable greenhouse, Lu Tianxing immediately felt a wave of heat hit him, completely different from the outside world. Outside, the cold was piercing, but once you stepped in here, it felt like entering a warm room, with a cozy warmth enveloping you, causing a faint drowsiness to creep into your mind, making you feel like sleeping.
Lu Tianxing’s gaze kept scanning back and forth in the vegetable greenhouse. The entire greenhouse was neatly organized into several areas with various vegetables growing separately—cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, and baby cabbage, which were completely off-season. Each area of vegetable thrived beautifully, clearly well-maintained to look this way.
Looking at everything in the greenhouse, Lu Tianxing couldn’t help but raise a slight dark line in his heart. Indeed, appearances are deceiving, and the sea cannot be measured. Who would have thought that Ji Xingyun, dignified the last time he was seen, would have such a hobby? He enjoyed creating a vegetable greenhouse at his home.
"Master, Lu Tianxing is here," Sima Lingyun shouted at Ji Xingyun, who was busy not far ahead.
Yet, Ji Xingyun seemed not to hear Sima Lingyun at all, remaining bent over, busy with something unknown.
Upon witnessing this, Sima Lingyun smiled wryly and turned to Lu Tianxing, saying, "Judge, sorry, my master is probably...."
Before Sima Lingyun could finish speaking, Lu Tianxing casually waved him off, interrupting, "I know, we’ll just wait."
With that, Lu Tianxing didn’t say anything further to Sima Lingyun and began wandering around the greenhouse, occasionally picking a cucumber or a tomato to eat, acting as if he were in his own vegetable garden.
"Lu family kid, you’re eating my stuff. Aren’t you afraid I’ve poisoned it?"
At that moment, just as Lu Tianxing was about to pick another cucumber for a taste, a robust voice rang in his ears.
Hearing the voice, Lu Tianxing raised his head instinctively, seeing an elderly presence that had appeared beside him unnoticed.
"Mr. Ji, you’re joking. If you wanted to do anything to me, you’d hardly need poison to kill me. So, why would I fear this?"
Upon seeing Ji Xingyun, Lu Tianxing smiled and said, "Besides, Mr. Ji, you and I have no grudges. I believe you wouldn’t kill me!"
"You’re right, I won’t kill you, but...."
At this, Ji Xingyun’s face suddenly turned icy, his tone stern, "But you brat snuck in to eat my stuff without permission. Aren’t you afraid I’ll get angry?"
"Certainly not."
Lu Tianxing looked at Ji Xingyun, without a hint of fear, saying, "Mr. Ji, there’s a saying: a thousand cups are too few to drink with friends. Growing vegetables is the same. You plant vegetables, there are bound to be harvest times. Although saying the happiest time is the harvest, I think nothing beats the pleasure of acknowledgment. I’m now appreciating what you’ve planted, tasting it, praising it—being recognized is the happiest thing, so why be angry, Mr. Ji!"
"Is that so?"
Upon hearing Lu Tianxing’s words, Ji Xingyun smiled knowingly, "Do you think these taste good?"
"Delicious, much better than what’s sold outside. Really green, non-toxic food," Lu Tianxing praised, looking at Ji Xingyun.
"You’re absolutely right; these are indeed non-toxic green foods. And I grew them using manure."
Finishing his sentence, Ji Xingyun looked at Lu Tianxing with a strange expression, wanting to see his reaction.
After all, when eating something, especially raw, hearing suddenly it’s grown with manure usually prompts the reflex to discard it. Even if not, it would stop the person momentarily.
But upon careful observation, Ji Xingyun was destined for disappointment. Lu Tianxing acted as if he hadn’t heard, continuing to eat with relish.
Lu Tianxing knew full well that Ji Xingyun was telling the truth, but this didn’t bother him. Whether in the army or as a mercenary, surviving was about rolling through corpses—eating raw meat was common, his heart long strengthened against such words, causing no emotional reaction.
For Lu Tianxing, as long as he could eat enough, nothing else mattered.
Seeing Lu Tianxing unfazed, Ji Xingyun smiled, "Not bad, not bad, a good attitude. I’m growing to like you more. Come, don’t just stand there, Lingyun, take the Lu family kid to the living room. I’ll go change clothes."
Saying this, Ji Xingyun spoke no more and turned, walking out of the greenhouse.
Sima Lingyun and Lu Tianxing didn’t linger in the greenhouse either, following Ji Xingyun outside.
After bringing Lu Tianxing to the living room, Sima Lingyun didn’t stick around and chose to leave, while Lu Tianxing wandered around, admiring the living room decor.
Lu Tianxing didn’t wait long before Ji Xingyun entered the room, now in a different outfit.
"Mr. Ji!"
Upon seeing Ji Xingyun, Lu Tianxing immediately stood up from the sofa.
"Have a seat, no need for formalities,"
Ji Xingyun, like a kindly elder, smiled and waved him to sit, "How are your grandfather and maternal grandfather doing?"
After hearing Ji Xingyun’s concern, Lu Tianxing nodded, smiling, "Thank you for asking, Mr. Ji. My grandfather and maternal grandfather are both well. They even told me they’d like to come to Beijing to have tea and play chess with you if possible!"
Just after Lu Tianxing spoke, Ji Xingyun waved his hands quickly, as if warding off evil, "No, you mustn’t let your grandfather and maternal grandfather come to Beijing. Nothing good comes from their visit. By the way, Lu family kid, if you don’t have business here, no need to come to Beijing either. If you need help, just call Ling Yun, there’s no need for you to come personally."
Saying this, Ji Xingyun waved his hands emphatically, as if wishing Lu Tianxing and his family would roll far away.
