Beauty Chairwoman’s Bodyguard Expert
Chapter 2305 - 2278: Farewell to Ji Xingyun
"Mr. Lu, we’ve arrived at the location." As the car came to a halt, Jiao Long turned to Lu Tianxing and said.
"Here?"
Lu Tianxing glanced around through the car window, his brows slightly furrowed. Didn’t Sima Lingyun say his master wanted to meet him?
He clearly remembered that the last time Sima Lingyun’s master met with him, it shouldn’t have been in this place.
Jiao Long seemed to know what Lu Tianxing was thinking and directly said, "Mr. Lu, this is the place our leader requested me to bring you. Moreover, our leader is already waiting for you here. I’ll call him right now."
With that, Jiao Long picked up the phone beside him and dialed a number.
Once the call connected, Jiao Long said a few words before hanging up, then turned to Lu Tianxing and said, "Mr. Lu, our leader will be here shortly."
Lu Tianxing took a look at Jiao Long, nodded slightly, said nothing more, and opened the car door to get out.
Just as he stepped out of the car, he immediately saw Sima Lingyun’s figure emerging from the alley.
"Judge, follow me! I’ll take you to meet my master." Sima Lingyun said promptly upon seeing Lu Tianxing.
Upon hearing this, Lu Tianxing nodded slightly and said, "Sima Lingyun, what does your master want with me?"
"I don’t know about that. Just follow me."
With that, Sima Lingyun did not give Lu Tianxing a chance to speak further but turned directly and walked inside.
Lu Tianxing shrugged, said nothing more, and followed closely, heading into the alley.
The alley grew deeper, with narrow passageways framed by towering walls on either side, preventing any view inside.
"Sima Lingyun, are you sure you’re not tricking me? Are you certain your master lives here?" Lu Tianxing couldn’t help but ask, recalling the courtyard he visited last time being considerably superior to this one’s surroundings. If one was a villa, this courtyard was more like a straw hut, the disparity was far too great.
"This is another residence of my master. The other one is only occupied at specific times, whereas this courtyard is where my master often stays."
Sima Lingyun explained briefly to Lu Tianxing but continued walking forward without stopping.
It was unclear how long they walked before Sima Lingyun suddenly stopped, slightly turned, revealing two large red wooden doors ahead, with two big red lanterns hanging high on the porch on either side!
Sima Lingyun halted and looked at Lu Tianxing, saying, "Judge, wait here a moment, I’ll inform my master."
Lu Tianxing nodded upon hearing this.
Seeing Lu Tianxing nod, Sima Lingyun said no more, heading directly into the courtyard.
Lu Tianxing paid no attention to Sima Lingyun’s actions but instead focused on the courtyard, examining it in detail.
Although termed a courtyard, strictly speaking, it resembled a mansion encased by towering walls, concealing its interior, yet Lu Tianxing believed there must be more awaiting inside.
Sima Lingyun didn’t keep Lu Tianxing waiting too long, returning shortly.
"Judge, come in!" Sima Lingyun said, looking at Lu Tianxing.
Upon hearing Sima Lingyun’s words, Lu Tianxing said nothing, stepping directly inside the courtyard.
Just stepping into the courtyard, Lu Tianxing was momentarily stunned, or more accurately, dumbfounded.
Generally, courtyards are neatly tended with flowers and plants, their ground either paved with bluestone or cement roads or grouped stone paths, yet inside Sima Lingyun’s master’s residence, none of these were present.
The path was bumpy dirt, utterly devoid of flora, trees, or other adornments, except for one singular item, a vegetable greenhouse.
Indeed, a gigantic vegetable greenhouse.
The entire greenhouse almost filled the courtyard’s space, and through the white plastic covering, tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries, and other fruits and veggies could be clearly seen growing inside.
Now, Sima Lingyun’s master Ji Xingyun resembled a seasoned farmer, bending as he tended to the vegetables.
Lu Tianxing was utterly bewildered by the scene before him, nearly questioning his own eyes. If it weren’t for Sima Lingyun personally leading him here, he would practically question everything he saw, doubting this gardener was Sima Lingyun’s master Ji Xingyun, suspecting they merely looked alike.
The visual impact of this scene on Lu Tianxing was overwhelming, making it hard to connect the earlier encounter with this depiction of Ji Xingyun, the contrast stark.
Previously, Ji Xingyun embodied an enigmatic style fitting a recluse, obvious at a glance, yet now being engrossed in gardening in a greenhouse seemed far removed from the image of a recluse.
Watching Ji Xingyun busily tending the garden, Lu Tianxing couldn’t help but feel speechless. Knowing that courtyards in Beijing were rare and extremely valuable, even if someone wanted to buy one, it wouldn’t be easy, much less a prime location like Sima Lingyun’s master’s. If word spread that someone turned a courtyard into a vegetable garden, saliva might drown Sima Lingyun’s master.
"Sima Lingyun, are you sure that’s your master and not someone who looks like him, or even a twin brother?" Lu Tianxing asked, somewhat uncertain.
Sima Lingyun, upon hearing Lu Tianxing, showed no surprise, appearing used to such remarks, smiled, and said, "He’s my master, follow me inside!"
Saying so, Sima Lingyun headed towards the greenhouse’s open doorway.
Lu Tianxing quickly followed, walking inside.
"Be careful, don’t step on my master’s things, or he’ll get upset!" Sima Lingyun kindly warned.
Upon hearing Sima Lingyun’s words, Lu Tianxing nodded slightly.
