Chapter 1039: Chapter 431: All Is Ready (2)
"If these guys latch onto you, even for me, it’s going to be quite a task to escape."
Wu Chang clicked his tongue; if divine creatures often roam the wild, the pressure to survive would indeed be overwhelming.
He asked, "But when ascending from the Desolate Realm to the Realm of Reason, and passing through the Pillar of the Present World to enter the Realm of Reason, one would appear in the wild. Does that mean...?"
The Hunter understood Wu Chang’s implication and nodded, saying:
"Players who have just ascended to the Realm of Reason are protected by the Abyssal Game. As long as they follow the guided mission into the Divine Hall of Truth, they won’t accidentally enter an out-of-control dungeon. However, if they encounter divine creatures immediately upon arriving, they’re dead."
"To survive in the Abyssal Game, luck is indeed an essential part."
Wu Chang already envisioned, if some unlucky person just ascended to the Realm of Reason without getting a clear look at the surroundings, when a giant human-faced centipede emerges from beneath their feet, they’d probably be scared stiff.
Wait.
He suddenly smelled a hint of a flag; he had already gained a permanent Destiny, no longer the unlucky fool who needed a guaranteed draw from every card pull—would he encounter such a situation during his ascension?
The flyer continued for over an hour, entering a tropical rainforest disaster zone. The Hunter landed the flyer on the ground and said:
"We’ve arrived; they’re hiding inside."
Wu Chang looked at the rainforest in front of him; the ritual connecting the World Dungeon at the heart of the jungle located in Bright Society’s private space was undetectable from the outside.
He couldn’t help but ask, "How did you find this place back then?"
The Hunter replied casually, "Very simple, I followed Mercury and found this place by tracing him."
Wu Chang raised an eyebrow; in mythology, Mercury had numerous roles—he was not only the god of messengers but also a protector of travelers, tricksters, and merchants, excelled at traveling and tracking.
Back when the Painter stole the Stone Slab that could create Imaginary Divinity, it was Mercury who tracked down the Painter, showcasing his prowess in tracking.
Yet facing such a tracking expert, the Hunter managed to track him to this place without Mercury noticing.
Xu Dejun and the others were right; the Hunter truly lived up to being the King of Stealth.
The Hunter asked, "You can wait outside and give me the Divine Rune Decipherer made by Professor Shi, so I can go in alone."
Wu Chang shook his head, "No need, we’ll act together, it’s good to have mutual support."
Once you do it once, twice it becomes familiar.
The Hunter had successfully infiltrated before, and on the second attempt, familiarity was gained.
Wu Chang suspected the Hunter had some special marking method, as the Hunter led him zigzagging through the jungle until he was disoriented, finally stopping at the entrance of a cave.
"Get ready; they are down below," the Hunter reminded.
Wu Chang made a no-problem gesture, signaling the Hunter to proceed.
The two entered the cave one after the other.
About three minutes later, they penetrated the innermost part of the cave, Wu Chang stood before a wall and only then felt the abnormal spatial reaction behind it.
But it made sense; this was a privately recognized space. Without this level of concealment, the Order Sect’s hidden space would have long been swept over by Bright Society.
Fortunately, the Hunter’s tracking ability was strong enough; if he hadn’t followed Mercury, finding this place in the wilderness would be as hard as finding a needle in a haystack.
The Hunter also mastered the Power of Spatial Root Source; he pulled out an item resembling a Lock Opener and operated it against the cave wall for two or three minutes before silently and invisibly opening a small portal on the wall.
As the Hunter stowed the item, he said:
"When I’m tracking prey, I like to sneak into their room quietly when they rest or sleep, sit beside their bed, and watch them sleep silently."
"When they wake up in the morning and see me sitting beside them first thing, their expressions are quite interesting."
Wu Chang blinked and responded, "That’s a unique hobby."
Apart from the final step, the Hunter’s behavior was increasingly reminiscent of stalking.
The two entered through the small portal into the private space; the following path Wu Chang recognized, as Xu Dejun had previously shown him the infiltration footage, starting from here.
After the last incident, Bright Society had noticeably intensified the defense measures, making the vigilance much greater than before.
But the first few layers of arrangements still weren’t much of a challenge for the Hunter; his cracking speed wasn’t much slower than last time.
Until reaching the final layer of restrictions before a vault-like round metal door, the Hunter’s speed finally slowed down, solemnly observing the restriction before him.
Wu Chang stood behind the Hunter, observing the restriction together.
The final restriction merged different systems of defenses, clearly not on the same level as last time.
The mystical runes alone caused Wu Chang strain to decipher, nearly reaching Divine Level.
Not to mention, aside from Mysticism, pure technological encryption and talisman sealing were present.
Wu Chang opened a gap in his portable space, inquiring if the All-Knowing Crystal had a solution; the All-Knowing Crystal’s response was somewhat hurtful.
It had a way, but he couldn’t use it.
Wu Chang wrinkled his nose, internally reflecting that Bright Society was indeed the leading organization in the Realm of Reason, capable of creating Imaginary Divinity; their foundation was too deep, and for now, he couldn’t bridge such a gap.
He had just won a straightforward battle against Hel, feeling a bit overconfident. Before sneaking in, he entertained the thought of fighting his way out if discovered, not feeling the tension from this operation.
