Chapter 1033: Chapter 429: Reentering the Realm of Reason (2)
"See the idiot outside peeking in with half his head showing?"
"Yes." He Yun glanced toward the door, noticing Raventon lurking behind them ever since they left Saint George’s Cathedral.
Wu Chang said, "Teaching one or teaching two makes no difference. If you’re not busy, teach Olivia what she needs to learn as well, and pass it on to him."
"We’re friends after all, that’s as much as I can help him."
Raventon was too timid; even when Julie was leaving, he only dared to watch from afar, not daring to show up himself.
If that fool really goes to the new world to enhance his power, he might not see Julie again in this lifetime.
He Yun squinted, staring at Wu Chang’s face and said:
"But by the look on your face now, it doesn’t seem you’re simply wanting to help him."
Wu Chang touched his cheek, trying to suppress the smile on his lips.
"Is it? It must be your illusion."
There’s no way his motives aren’t pure; he simply wanted to cheer for Raventon and coincidentally enjoyed watching a drama.
After instructing He Yun to take care of Raventon, he greeted Olivia, whose face was slightly odd, as if realizing some big secret, and turned into the teleportation array.
He looked at Julie, curiously, "Julie, you’re calmer than I thought, not very attached to this place."
When alone with Wu Chang, Julie’s expression was less indifferent than before.
She gazed out through the space array and gently said:
"The True God told me upon his divine revelation that in the world I’m about to reach, power is everything. As long as the power is strong enough, whatever I want to achieve can be accomplished."
"I don’t want, during the next crisis, to be like before, watching helplessly. So, I have no time for sentimentality; I must keep moving forward."
Wu Chang said, "Even though you say that, if you encounter trouble, you can still come to me. Your True God will pay the reward, so there’s no need to feel embarrassed."
"If there’s nothing else, we should be departing."
Julie took a deep breath and nodded, "Let’s set off."
Accompanied by the glow of the teleportation array, Wu Chang blinked and transported Julie to the Realm of Reason.
Similar to the underground shelter, the other side of the Steam Phantom Plane was also in the desolate region of the Realm of Reason, a distance from the managed zone.
Julie, with the Power of Spatial Root Source, unlike others who, upon first using the teleportation array, would stop and vomit heavily, she was very composed—like merely walking through a door.
Unlike Wu Chang, although Julie wasn’t a player, she met the conditions for ascension and was brought into the Realm of Reason by Kristen.
Upon settling in the Realm of Reason, Julie’s surface began to glow with the Power of Spatial Root Source, attracting a significant amount of spatial root power due to an inexplicable ability.
A substantial influx of Power of Spatial Root Source surged inside her, causing a dramatic increase in Julie’s power. Concurrently, the power exceeding her absorption limit formed a transparent, thin barrier on her body’s surface.
Wu Chang had seen this barrier; it’s a Realm of Reason Plane barrier that forms truly when one ascends and is recognized by the realm.
Once acquiring this barrier, it signifies one’s existence is already a qualitative leap over normal desolate realm life.
For a simple reason, this barrier can nullify 100 points of all attribute enhancements during attacks by desolate realm life.
No matter the attribute boost in the attack, crossing this barrier deducts 100 points. If a skill benefits from dual or triple attributes, in a desolate realm it’s advantageous but during inter-plane combat, it experiences double or triple reduction.
Unless like Wu Chang, who doesn’t care about mere hundred points of attribute, most players lose 100 attribute points during combat, which is catastrophic.
Because of this, the Four Major Organizations set a boundary when assigning positions.
For instance, within the Management Bureau, no matter the achievements in the desolate realm, even if it’s Hou Jingchuan and Leng Shan, without entering the Realm of Reason, they’re stuck at Level 1 Investigator position, unable to break through.
Even for them, defeating the weakest Realm of Reason player is extremely difficult; they can only try using mechanisms to overcome the value disparity.
The ascension ceremony lasted about three minutes. With Julie’s surface Realm of Reason barrier fully formed, her existence merged with the realm, unlike Wu Chang who didn’t fit the surrounding environment.
Julie, as Kristen’s chosen saintess, directly had her Power of Spatial Root Source elevated to Lord Level by the ascension ceremony, surpassing Wu Chang.
This leap in enhancement was immense; Julie, immersed in the mystical feeling of root power elevation, had silvery white mist flickering in her eyes, her expression becoming exceptionally stern.
It’s as though she evolved, becoming noble like a higher lifeform.
This change in mentality mainly stems from being accepted by the Realm of Reason and influenced by the realm, so it can’t be blamed on Julie.
Before Wu Chang could remind Julie of her change, a light followed the energy fluctuations of the ascension ceremony.
Since Julie followed Wu Chang’s Pillar of the Present World to the Realm of Reason, they appeared at the Crimson Courtyard in the realm, and with the energy arriving, came an Abyssal Game player.
The person was clad entirely in plate armor, crafted exquisitely and adorned with gold embroidery. A round shield hung on his left arm, and a gem-decorated knight’s sword hung at his waist, radiating luxury and wealth.
