Down in the guest lounge, as the guests were sipping their refreshments, the grand elder stroked his beard and asked for the purpose of their visit. He had hosted many visits like this from different clans, guilds, and wealthy families. All of them came with one goal: to ask for Zyra’s hand in marriage. Even so, he still pretended not to know.

Mr. Claw placed his glass of fresh pineapple juice on the small glass table and cleared his throat loudly. "Mr. Kaelion, we will not beat around the bush," He said, puffing out his chest. "We are here to ask for Zyra’s hand in marriage. And to show you that we mean business, we brought multiple expensive gifts just for her as dowry."

The dowry tradition had been resurrected by families of Soul maidens that sought to gain the highest benefits from the marriages of their daughters.

The grand elder nodded and laughed lightly. His eyes shifted toward Aaron Claw, the youngest son of Mr. Claw. Aaron was still single, even though he was practically overripe for marriage at the age of 40.

"Ah, young man, I am very sorry to disappoint you," the grand elder said, looking at Aaron with fake pity. "Unfortunately, Zyra married my grandson just last evening. I am sure everyone here has heard the news by now."

Mr. Claw waved his hand dismissively. "Oh, we heard! But since Zyra Scorpion is a soul maiden, there is no problem at all with her taking another husband. A powerful woman like that cannot put all her eggs in just one basket. She can have 5, 10 or even 100 husbands if she wants. How else will she guarantee that her bloodline will continue? We don’t know for sure if Hunter Kaelion will help her sire little soul maidens."

The guests bubbled with laughter but the Kaelions that were present did not find the words funny at all. In fact, some were thinking that if Zyra truly wanted another husband, there was no need to look outside. Their clan had more than enough capable young men.

Better one of Hunter’s cousins than an outsider.

Aaron’s face turned bright red. He quickly raised his hands and spoke up politely. "To make it clear Elder Kaelion, I am not the one who comes seeking to be married off to the precious soul maiden."

The grand elder arched one eyebrow so high it almost touched his hairline. "If it’s not you, then who?" He looked around the room. To the best of his knowledge, every other man sitting here was already married, and polygamy was completely illegal.

Mr. Claw smiled proudly and pointed his finger straight at Logan. "It is Logan! He is the one who desires to ask for Zyra’s hand in marriage!"

The grand elder almost choked on his own saliva. He coughed so hard his face turned red like a tomato.

The Kaelion family members standing around the lounge gasped in pure shock.

Achilles, who was leaning against the wall, snickered in disgust. "Is this old fool really out of his mind?"

Arrow leaned closer to Achilles’ ear and whispered low, "Boss, should I kill Logan now, or should I wait until later?"

Achilles gave a small nod. "Wait a bit. But if you do it, make sure nobody catches you or traces it back to us."

Not far away, Zyra had paused near a stone pillar like a frozen lion statue the moment she heard why these people were here. They were not the first group, but they were the most ridiculous one. Logan was old enough to be her father!

The grand elder stood up, still massaging his sore throat. He saw Zyra walking toward the lounge, her face a vision of fury. He put up a hand to stop her. "Stay back, child. I will handle this madness." He turned back to Mr. Claw, his eyes flashing with anger. "Mr. Claw, I am deeply disappointed in you! How could you get involved in such a scandalous thing? Your own daughter is still fresh in her grave, and here you are, helping your son-in-law marry a young woman that is old enough to be his daughter!"

Mr. Claw just flicked his fingers like he was shooing away a fly. "Oh, stop being dramatic Ralph. This is a political marriage to strengthen our family line. Feelings don’t matter here."

The grand elder’s fist trembled. He wanted to punch Mr. Claw right in his old face, but he held back because one hard hit would probably kill the old man on the spot. Instead, he turned his sharp gaze onto Logan. "You are completely shameless! Zyra is younger than your oldest child!"

Logan adjusted his collar and smirked. "Age is just a number, sir. I truly care for Zyra from the bottom of my heart."

"Care for her?!" the grand elder shouted so loud the glass windows shook. "You shameless creep! Years ago, you were chasing Zyra’s mother all over the city asking to marry her! Now you want to marry her daughter?!"

Gasps echoed through the entire room. Even the men who came with Logan turned to look at him with wide, shocked eyes. They had no idea about this embarrassing piece of history.

Logan felt a bit embarrassed, but he quickly turned to face Zyra. He tried to give her his best romantic smile. "Zyra, my dear, all of that was in the past. Let’s forget the old days and focus on our bright future together. What happened between Zena_"

Before Logan could finish his sentence, Hunter jumped from across the room. He practically flew through the air like a rocket and landed a heavy punch straight onto Logan’s jaw. Logan flew backward and crashed onto the marble floor. Before his body even hit the ground, three bloody teeth flew out of his mouth and clattered onto the tiles.

"Keep aunt Zena’s name out of your dirty mouth and stay away from my wife!" Hunter growled, wiping his knuckles.

Logan groaned, holding his swollen cheek on the floor as he glared at Hunter.

Zyra didn’t even look at the blood. She pinched her lips and gave a silent command to her system. System, send the video file to every single device in this room and across the entire network right now.

[Sending video file... 100% Complete.]

Suddenly, the lounge erupted into a chorus of notification sounds. Every phone, tablet, and link band in the room lit up at the exact same time.

People pulled out their devices to see what was happening. As the video started playing automatically, the noise in the room died down completely. Silence fell over the lounge_ a cold, heavy silence.

"What... what is this?!" someone whispered, their voice shaking.

"He... he killed them? And Lita was his biological daughter?!" another guest cried out, dropping his drink glass onto the floor. It shattered into a hundred pieces.

Heavy gasps and horrified murmurs filled the hall. The men who had come with Logan immediately scrambled away from him as if he had the plague.
