Zyra didn’t stay behind her shield either. She gripped her knife and transformed it into a spear; her eyes laced with sharp killing intent. She planted her feet, twisted her waist, and threw the spear with all her force!

The spear didn’t just fly; it roared like a jet engine! It cut through the air so fast that it created a vacuum.

In one single, terrifying straight line, the spear punched straight through the leather armor and chests of three cannibals at once, pinning all three of them together against a solid stone building twenty meters away! Blood splattered onto the rocky face, and the spear shaft was still vibrating violently holding the dead men against the wall!

When it pulled back, their heads rolled to the ground, while it returned to Zyra’s hands.

The rest of the cannibals backed away, their knees shaking uncontrollably. "What...what is that?"

Two of the three men Zyra had just taken out were among those trying to escape with Campbell. Now, the man was left alone on the ground. Campbell squeezed his eyes shut in pain and hissed through his teeth. We are completely finished here! he thought. I have to get out of this hellhole! If I make it out of here alive, will return with the last of my reinforcements.

He dragged his bleeding body toward a transport bird resting near the edge of the camp. He kicked the handler off, jumped onto the bird’s back, and slapped its neck. "Fly! Get me out of here, you stupid bird! FLY!"

The giant transport bird screeched, flapped its wings, and took off into the dark sky, quickly rising higher and higher.

"He’s escaping!" Claudia screamed, pointing up.

Zyra sneered. "Escape? On that overgrown chicken? I don’t think so."

She opened the beast pocket. "Drake come out!"

The drake burst into the air! The pressure from its aura knocked three nearby cannibals right onto their butts. Everyone on the field_ cannibals, town’s people, Soul maidens and hidden scouts_ gasped in absolute terror.

"What level is that beast?!" a scout in the tree squeaked, almost dropping his phone.

Zyra leaped twenty feet into the air, landing lightly right on the Drake’s head. "Catch him!" she ordered.

More gasping filled the air.

"How did she leap twenty feet into the air?" A cannibal wailed. "It’s not fair. This is not a fair fight."

Hunter snapped his head as the man was lamenting.

The Drake flapped its huge wings, creating a mini hurricane on the ground as it shot into the sky like a black rocket! Within seconds, Zyra was right on Campbell’s tail.

Campbell looked back and almost had a heart attack. "Stay away from me!" he screamed, pulling out a gun and unloading the entire clip at her.

"Wing Shield," Zyra said calmly.

The Drake gracefully swung its huge left wing forward, wrapping it in front of Zyra like an iron umbrella. The bullets bounced uselessly off the thick feathers, making harmless clink-clink sounds before falling into the clouds.

Zyra reached up and plucked two blue, electric feathers from the back of the Drake’s wing. Current crackled loudly around her fingers.

"Here’s a gift for you," she whispered softly.

She threw the first electric feather. It flew straight as a bullet and pierced Campbell right through the throat! High-voltage electricity exploded through his body, frying him instantly.

Zyra threw the second feather. It hit the transport bird’s neck. The bird let out a dead screech as its wings went limp and blackened.

Up in the sky, both the man and the bird plunged straight down like heavy stones, crashing into the rocky canyon far below with a distant crash!

Silence fell over the town. Everyone on the ground stopped fighting. Cannibals and town’s people alike slowly turned their heads, watching the Drake slowly glide down from the clouds and land heavily on the earth, sending up spatters of mud.

Zyra jumped down, her hair blowing gently in the wind.

Seeing their leader dead and a giant drake staring at them, the remaining six cannibals lost every ounce of their courage.

Swords, axes, guns and bows hit the ground. Every single cannibal dropped to their knees, throwing their hands high up in the air. "We surrender!"

Hunter walked up, his twin daggers dripping with blood. He noticed three cannibals trying to quietly crawl backward into the high grass to run away. Without saying a word, he stepped forward, his blades flashing three times in zigzag patterns. The three runners collapsed face-first into the muddy ground.

Hunter turned around, cleaned his blades on one of the dead men’s shirts and gave Zyra a quiet, respectful nod. Nice work, his eyes seemed to say.

[Ding! Host, you must burn the bodies of those malevolent beasts immediately! Their dark energy stones inside can be harvested by bad guys to create even more corrupted monsters!] The system’s robotic voice buzzed in Zyra’s head.

"Got it," Zyra muttered. She snapped her fingers. "Little squirrel, fire time!"

Squirrel popped out from her shoulder, rubbed its tiny paws together, and wiggled it’s tail. A stream of magical, bright orange fire poured over the mountain of dead beasts, burning them into pure white ashes in less than a minute.

Etania watched the giant drake, the squirrel, and the powerful weapons. Her hands were shaking. She remembered how Tessi had tried to tell her before that Zyra was someone special, but she hadn’t believed a single word.

Slowly, Etania walked right up to Zyra. With deep respect, she dropped down onto one knee and bowed her head low to the dirt.

"Greetings_ Divine Maiden!" Etania said, her voice full of awe and regret.

Zyra looked down at the kneeling woman and sighed, shaking her head. She reached out and patted Etania’s shoulder. "Get up. Stand up on your feet. This is no time for formal speeches and I am not the Divine maiden." She wasn’t going to yell at the poor girl for being foolish earlier. She was just relieved that Etania was still breathing. "Are the rest of the girls okay?"

"Yes, divine maiden." Claudia answered.

Meanwhile, the town’s people who were watching from behind rocks were whispering to each other, totally confused.

"Divine Maiden? Did she just call her the Divine Maiden?"

"Wait_ isn’t the Divine Maiden supposed to be Trinity Johnson, living in the High Capital?"

"Who on earth is this lady that they are calling the divine maiden?!"

"They are Soul maidens, they know better than the rest of us. If they say she is the Divine maiden, then she is the divine soul maiden."

Suddenly, every move Zyra had made seemed to make sense. Some people started to fall to their knees, crying and screaming as if they had been possessed.
