Chapter 424: Chapter 387 – Arrested by the Investigators

“Takumi-sama, this body is wonderful. Thank you so much!”

Treyni immediately rose and bowed to Takumi in gratitude.

Even her conservative white top couldn’t conceal her full curves. The prominent outline and gentle sway were enough to make anyone’s heart race.

When Treyni stood upright, her figure didn’t seem quite so exaggerated. But the moment she bowed, her impressive assets immediately made themselves known!

Takumi took a deep breath, then exchanged meaningful glances with Trya and Doris.

The two promptly bowed to him as well.

“Takumi-sama, we’ll leave our bodies in your hands too~~”

Their sweet voices made them impossible to refuse.

“You’ll both get one~ No one’s being left out.”

Takumi nodded slightly, then took two more pieces from the Great Spirit Tree and began crafting bodies for Trya and Doris.

The entire process went perfectly smoothly. As for the portions he had taken from the Great Spirit Tree, Takumi restored them afterward with his [Power of Restoration].

Once all three sisters were gathered together in physical form, the four exchanged glances and unanimously decided that a more thorough examination was necessary to see whether there were any flaws in their new bodies.

“This examination needs to be meticulous. Treyni, do you feel anything unusual?”

“Mm~~ N-No, nothing. I think Trya and Doris need to be examined more than I do.”

“Eh~ Now that you mention it, Onee-sama, I do feel a little uncomfortable in this body. Takumi-sama, could you take a look for me?”

The group entered the Space-Time Realm, where Takumi brought out highly advanced equipment and began scanning all three of them.

While he was busy on his end, the various powers outside were also taking action.

The Kingdom of Falmuth had fallen.

The Beast Kingdom had fallen.

And the Puppet Nation was currently suffering wave after wave of bombardment from Freyja and Eve.

Clayman, however, had sensed that something was wrong ahead of time and fled before the destruction reached him.

Having narrowly escaped with his life, he was forced to watch his own kingdom be annihilated.

It nearly broke him.

He had spent all these years sitting at the chessboard as a player, carefully laying out schemes and calculating every move.

Then his opponent simply flipped the entire board over, picked it up, and smashed him over the head with it!?

“Aaaaaagh!!!”

Clayman let out a heart-rending roar as his composure completely shattered.

He simply couldn’t understand how Takumi’s subordinates could possibly be this powerful.

It felt as though any random subordinate Takumi sent out could kill him hundreds of times over.

“That woman… she’s a complete monster.”

Fear still lingered in Clayman’s eyes.

At the time, he had already fled more than a hundred kilometers away, yet he had still clearly seen the flames illuminating the heavens.

Countless flaming meteors had fallen from the sky, reducing his entire nation to ashes in an instant.

Despite being a Demon Lord himself, before that kind of overwhelming power he had been no different from an ant, capable of nothing more than desperately clinging to life.

“No. I’m not weaker than them. Fighting simply isn’t where my talent lies!”

“If I can control them and make proper use of that advantage, I won’t lose!!”

Clayman muttered to himself, forcibly calming his mind.

After checking how many of his surviving subordinates remained, he immediately contacted Mjurran, whom he had dispatched earlier.

Mjurran was the Ring Finger among Clayman’s Five Fingers.

Originally, she had been a witch born three hundred years ago who lived alone in the forest. After being deceived by Clayman, however, she had been branded with the secret technique [Puppet Heart] and transformed into a majin under his control.

Clayman had previously sent Mjurran out on a reconnaissance mission.

“The mission has changed. Prepare yourself for battle!”

“They’re rampaging around this arrogantly—I refuse to believe no one else intends to deal with them!!”

Clayman shouted furiously.

He intended to seek out the other Demon Lords and form an alliance against Takumi.

Upon receiving his orders, Mjurran could only give a bitter smile.

Knowing that she had long since lost her freedom, she nevertheless nodded calmly.

Suppressing her emotions, she continued walking through the forest.

As she went, memories of her past surfaced in her mind.

Her witch mentor had once been burned to death by humans amid rumors surrounding an epidemic. Afterward, Mjurran had withdrawn deep into the forest, where she lived alone for centuries without family or friends.

She had actually enjoyed that kind of life.

But time eventually brought everything to an end.

Even magic that extended one’s lifespan had its limits.

As death gradually approached, Mjurran began to feel regret.

At the time, she had still been unable to glimpse the true depths of magic, nor did she have anyone to inherit the knowledge she had accumulated.

She couldn’t help asking herself:

What meaning was there in my coming into this world at all?

It was then that Demon Lord Clayman appeared before her.

He coveted her magic and knowledge and approached her with an offer.

Mjurran accepted.

Now, she considered that decision one of the greatest mistakes of her life.

She regained her youth.

The passage of time ceased to affect her.

Yet freedom slipped forever beyond her reach.

It had never been an equal exchange.

It had been an unfair contract from the very beginning.

The moment she swore allegiance to Clayman, a curse was engraved upon her heart.

Demon Lord Clayman cast the secret technique [Heart of Domination] upon her.

When the technique was completed, Mjurran shed her human identity and was reborn as a majin.

At the same time, she became a [Puppet] incapable of defying Clayman.

Mjurran had spent all these years waiting for an opportunity to remove the curse from her body and defeat Demon Lord Clayman.

Unfortunately, her own magical knowledge told her that such a plan had virtually no chance of succeeding.

If she broke [Heart of Domination], she would revert to being human.

The passage of time that had been halted would immediately resume, and her remaining lifespan would plummet to zero all at once.

Until today.

If that Lord can frighten Clayman this badly, then maybe I… could ask him for help.

Hope flickered in Mjurran’s eyes.

She had long since grown tired of living as someone else’s puppet.

“Illusion Magic—Magic Perception!”

“Extra Skill—Magic Sense!”

With the two forms of perception layered together, the area Mjurran could observe expanded dramatically.

She had managed to survive for several centuries not through luck, but because she possessed genuine strength.

Direct, face-to-face combat might not have been her specialty, but that hardly made her incompetent.

She was a magic caster proficient in more than three different systems of magic, wielding them all with ease.

That was precisely why Clayman entrusted her with reconnaissance and other behind-the-scenes missions.

Following the flow of magicules with her senses, Mjurran soon came across an unbelievable sight.

Vast stretches of trees were being felled.

Asphalt covered the ground.

Towering buildings rose one after another.

In truth, she hardly even needed her magic. Simply walking a little farther would have been enough to see the same scene with her own eyes.

The Takum Empire’s expansion had already spread across and swallowed nearly the entire forest in an astonishingly short amount of time!

“Cognition Obstruction!”

After casting the spell on herself, Mjurran disappeared from sight.

Taking a deep breath, she began making her way into the empire.

Yet the instant her foot touched the paved road, every Shadow Demon girl working nearby turned in perfect unison and locked their gazes directly onto her position.

Staaare~~~

Mjurran froze where she stood, beads of cold sweat rolling down her forehead.

Was that just my imagination?

I’m already invisible, aren’t I?!

Mjurran cautiously shifted a step to the side.

Every single Shadow Demon girl smoothly moved her gaze along with her, their eyes remaining fixed on exactly where she stood.

I’m screwed!!

They really can see me! I wasn’t imagining it!

Nearly scared out of her wits, Mjurran spun around and tried to flee.

Before she could take more than a step, however, a Shadow Demon girl grabbed her and pinned her down.

“Female. Appearance is acceptable. Suspected hostile. Most likely a spy or intelligence operative.”

“Take her to Secretary Kagali. Report the matter to Master as well.”

The Shadow Demon girls exchanged a glance, completing their entire discussion mentally in an instant.

Then they turned around and hauled Mjurran straight to Kagali’s office.
