Awakened As A Calamity
Chapter 35: First Calamictic Points
Chapter 35: Chapter 35: First Calamictic Points
Morgan thought he chopped the snake’s head off. He could have sworn he did.
But no.
His scythe cut through the tough scales, but only injured the serpent.
It thrashed, dying the water red with blood. The snakekin roared again. This time, fiercer.
Its injured shell began to rapidly heal. And worse — it started to harden.
The scales were naturally white. But this ones colour changed.
In seconds, it turned pitch black.
"Berserker!!"
The thought of finishing it off left Morgan completely. Now all he wanted was to run.
But it was too late.
*ROAR!!!*
The serpent began to grow, Bigger. Wider. Its body distorting.
"Oh no."
Shouted Morgan. He shot upwards through the water at full speed trying to escape. But the serpent launched like an arrow.
In a blink, it was already on his tail.
"Oh n–’
"The boy is long dead," said Raymond.
He was about to urge his horse forward when he felt Something was wrong.
Rudrick sensed it too.
He turned toward the lake and—
SPLASH!!!!!!!
Morgan burst out of the water, soaked and breathing hard.
"It’s him!!!" said Rudrick.
But then—
*BOOM!!*
A huge serpent launched from the water right behind him.
Body pitch black. Eyes blood red. Steam rising off its scales.
"Berserker!!!"
Everyone exclaimed with pure horror.
Calamities started scrambling backwards, trying to flee the mountain.
But the serpent didn’t relent. With its gigantic tail it lashed at the cliff.
*BOOM!!*
Rocks broke free and rained down. Weak Calamities were crushed instantly. Stronger ones barely dodged, rolling across stone.
"Damn it!!" muttered Raymond.
His Geno weapon materialized in his hand.
A blood-red long sword, humming.
Gilbert didn’t hesitate either. Two spears appeared — one gold, one blue.
When Morgan saw it. He was baffled.
Gilbert is stronger than Raymond...
Having two geno weapons is shocking.
PENG!!
Raymond’s sword slammed into the serpent’s scale.
It didn’t even leave a scratch. The metal screeched and slid off.
"Sire!!" shouted Gilbert, lowering his stance, ready to leap. "Restrict its movements! I’ll deal the fatal blow!"
Raymond didn’t argue. He swept his sword.
"CALAMITY THIRD WAVE: RING OF FIRE"
The entire lake exploded.
Walls of fire erupted from the water, wrapping around the serpent and forming a ring around it. The serpent roared, thrashing, trying to break free. Steam and smoke filled the air in an instant.
"Oh no, it’s getting away," shouted Gilbert. The fire was already cracking.
Morgan wanted to dive back in and help. But then—
A second serpent.
Smaller. And Green in colour. Faster as well.
Before Morgan could react, it was in his face. Mouth open, going straight for his head.
At that moment, Ribbons shot out.
They wrapped around the serpent, binding it mid-lunge and yanking it sideways.
"Beare!" Relief washed over Morgan’s face.
"Get out of there, you little shit!!" Beare gritted her teeth. The snake was straining, trying to break her ribbons. Veins popped on her arms from the pressure.
Morgan shot off the mountain and landed next to her.
"Let’s run," said Beare. Already running
At the end of the cliffside, Rudrick stood still. Blocking their path.
When Morgan saw him, it was obvious. Rudrick recognized him.
Behind them, the giant Berserker serpent roared louder.
Gilbert was still amazing. He darted in, driving his twin spears deep, opening long lacerations across the black scales.
But it wasn’t fatal. It only enraged the beast more. The lake churned.
"I hate this," muttered Morgan. His scythe materialized in his hand with a low hum.
"I just have the feeling this battle is gonna get ugly," said Beare.
Something formed over her hand. A glove. Golden metal. It didn’t close her fist — instead it extended into long, curved, scythe-like fangs.
She grinned, blood still on her cheek.
"Let’s party!!"
