Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Gaining My first points

opened the door to the inn and walked out.

In the end, he couldn’t go through with it. Why? Because Morgan still had a clear conscience and his heart is still pure.

But he did torture Beare a little, and that earned him three points

It’s not much but it’s my first points.

Thought Morgan as he smiled then stepped back into the tavern, Luke looked up, clearly surprised.

"What happened in there?"

"Yeah, I heard shouting," Arma said, wiping a mug. "Was that you, kid? Did she try to maul you?"

"No. It was the other way around."

"What?!" Luke and Arma said in unison.

They were beyond shocked, to say the least. Turns out, Morgan did fit into the Lawless Lands.

After the initial shock, Arma and the others burst out laughing.

"I like this kid. He’s spicy! Hahaha!" Arma cackled at the top of her voice.

Meanwhile, at the Gate of the Lawless Lands.

A man in a black hood was walking past when the guards blocked his path.

"What business do you have here?" one guard asked, slowly drawing his geno-sword with a smug grin.

The hooded man didn’t answer. He just kept walking, like they didn’t exist.

That enraged the guards. One of them stepped forward and yanked the hood off.

But unbeknowst them coiled around the man’s neck was a snake.

The moment the hood came off, the serpent lunged and sank its fangs into the guard’s neck.

"Arrrgh!!"

The guard collapsed. Black veins spread across his body instantly. He thrashed for just a moment before dying.

"How dare you!" another guard shouted, drawing his sword.

The man turned. He has green eyes still the signature of the house Martell with a Jet-black hair. Rudrick.

"`Calamity Second Wave: Viper Tempest`."

In an instant, the serpent shot forward with lightning speed and slipped into the gaps of the guard’s armor.

"Arrghh!!!"

The guard thrashed. The others rushed to pry the armor open.

But before they could, blood started pouring from the man’s mouth.

"Wh—"

The serpent shot out and struck the next guard in the face.

It all happened in under a minute. All five guards, each of whom had unlocked their Second Wave, were dead.

The crowd watching scattered backward as Rudrick walked through them.

"I’m coming for you, Morgan."

He didn’t spare them another glance.

Meanwhile, in the Barn ths was starting to feel more like home to Morgan.

He was feeding Snow — the alpha fox he’d found in the woods — when Luke walked in.

Arma was wiping down tables. Beare was dancing to a song, a mug in her hand. Still drunk.

Luke sat down beside Morgan and handed him a piece of paper.

"What’s this?"

"An invitation. To the Hunting Spree."

"Oooh, I wanna go!" Beare snatched the paper from Luke’s hand.

"Beare, stop! The invite is for two people—"

"Which means I’m going too."

"You’re drunk 24/7. How are you supposed to survive a Hunting Spree?" Luke asked, voice laced with scorn.

"Are you underestimating me, you little shit?" Her drunken act vanished in a second.

Luke sighed. " Beare, I don’t want to fight with you right now. So If you insist on going, then fine. But you’re going with Morgan."

"What! Absolutely not!" Beare snapped.

"It’s not up for debate. You want to go? You go with Morgan. Or else your giving me my invite back."

Beare glanced at Morgan, who was still feeding Snow, completely unbothered. She took a moment before finally sighing.

"Fine. I’ll take this little shit with me. I need to break through to the Fourth Wave anyway." it seems like the torture Morgan did to her made her uncomfortable around him.

"What exactly is this Hunting Spree?" Morgan finally asked.

"It’s an annual event run by the noble House of Drakell," Luke explained. "They gather hundreds of Calamities and send them to hunt. If you survive, you come out insanely strong. Perfect for someone like you."

"That sounds too good to be true."

"It is," Beare said, eyes gleaming. "The last five years, almost everyone who went died. But the ones who managed to live unlocked one or even two new Waves."

"But you’re forgetting the death part." Said Morgan.

"It’s a risk I’m willing to take." Beare’s grin didn’t falter at the prospect of death at all.

Luke added, "And staying here will just get you turned into one of the Unclean."

"What?!" Morgan was stunned. "You mean to tell me... they used to be people?"

"You didn’t know?" Luke said it like it was obvious.

"They were Calamities who refused to level up. There’s a timer on us. After a certain period, if you don’t grow stronger, you transform. Into those faceless, white monsters that crawl out at night and devour people."

"Jesus Christ."

"That’s the life of a Calamity. Don’t level up, and the system turns you into an Unclean. Do level up, and the Capital comes hunting for you."

"Alright, enough," Arma cut in, sliding two mugs to Beare. "Get ready. We’ve got customers coming in."

"We leave tomorrow morning. Early."

*Meanwhile, at the House of Drakell*

At the highest point of the estate, a man stood before a massive door.

He raised his hand to knock when the door opened.

Out stepped a woman with red hair tied tightly back. She wore a black silk dress and had an expression like ice.

"Sorry master Raymond but your father does not wish to be disturbed," she said coldly.

"But I’m about to unlock my Fifth Wave tomorrow! And you’re telling me he won’t see me?"

"He’s taking his midday rest. And I don’t —"

"Don’t tell me what to do. You’re just a SECRETARY here. Got it?"

"A secretary who’s telling you that you won’t see Lord Drakell. Is that clear enough, Master Raymond? Or are you deaf?"

Raymond gritted his teeth so hard blood nearly came to his mouth.

"Your day is coming, Minerva. I promise you that."

He turned to leave, then stopped. "Tell Father I’m leaving for the annual Killing Spree. I won’t be back for a while."

He walked off without waiting for a reply.

Minerva watched him go with a cold, satisfied smile. Then she turned and entered the room.

Inside was a completely different world. Endless fields of blooming flowers under a vast, pale-blue sky. At the center of the fields stood a fountain carved like a fish. Water poured from its mouth and gills.

And in the pool below sat a man. Naked. Red hair wet and slick. A body carved like a Greek statue. His chiseled abs gleamed under the water as it ran down his skin. His eyes were closed in a relax maner. Every girl who saw him would moan in pleasure, and Minerva is no exception.

She l licked her lips and slipped out of her dress. Her big boobs bouncing seductively. She slowly caress her body.

"Damn... that body never gets old," Drakell murmured without opening his eyes.

"I could say the same about you," she replied with a smile.

" Really? Then dance for me."

"Before I do," Minerva said, stepping into the water, "your son is going to the Killing Spree. If he kills enough Calamities, he might unlock his Fifth Wave."

"I doubt it," Drakell said, still relaxed. "Raymond isn’t particularly what you would called ....a bright guy."

"But he’s your son. He has your blood. No matter how useless he is, he can’t be that bad."

"Lets hope so. Now can you please come and fuck me?"

Minerva smiled and began to move, slow and deliberate.

"Alright, my Lord. I’ll fuck you so hard till you beg for mercy."

"Yesss. Now come hear and give me that as*" said Drakell smiling as she walked to him and sealed his mouth with soft deep kiss.

Meanwhile back in the Lawless City

Rudrick had been searching for Morgan, but there was no trace of him. It was like he never came to the Lawless City. But after a while of searching. he overheard people talking about the Killing Spree.

"Will everyone be going to this Killing Spree?" Rudrick asked a passerby.

"Yeah. Don’t you know? But only those with invitations. Without one, House Drakell won’t protect you."

"Hm. Is that so?"

Rudrick’s instincts kicked in. If Morgan was going to be there, that’s where he’d find him.
