Ascension Of The Blood Supreme

Chapter 184. The power of a legendary rank 2.

The morning sun showed brilliantly in its full capacity.

Aiden stood on the walls of the town.

Vanity and several town enforcers, clad in their battlesuits, stood near him.

Soon, a lot of town residents also appeared at different parts of the town walls.

The ground suddenly shook.

A swarm of giant silhouettes which stretched into the skies appeared from the distance.

Giant sandworms.

They numbered thousands.

They were all expert rank 2 chaotic beasts.

The sheer pressure the creatures radiated caused everyone but the lodgekeeper to be extremely scared.

Some of the creatures screeched. When they screeched, sonic booms spread across different directions.

Portions of the walls flew apart. Some of the town’s men on the walls turned into mushy corpses because of the sonic booms.

"Shit. These guys are mutated giant sandworms. Instead of just regular sandworms."

"Instead of having the sand affinity, they have sound affinity. They are more dangerous."

Aiden was calm.

He was looking for the horde commander.

Several stared at him.

Why was he not acting yet?

However, no one dared to say a word.

As for those who had been killed by the sonic booms of the sandworms, they were quite unfortunate.

As for Aiden, he absorbed their blood essence.

Aiden’s eyes were currently crimson.

His gaze narrowed towards the distance and spread across the desert horizon below.

Somewhere several distances away from the horde, the horde commander was generating sound waves with squeaks. Some sort of animalistic instinctive signals for the horde to follow.

Then, several microscopic blobs of blood formed microscopic blades, thousands of them.

No one could see them, but Aiden could.

Then, they shot towards the distance.

What the people on the wall saw left them shocked.

Chi... chi... chi... chi...

The thousand approaching sandworms suddenly spasmed.

Their sonic booms ceased.

For a moment, nothing else happened.

Until...

Pfffttt...

Blood sprayed from their bodies.

Their bodies slid into cleanly cut halves and fell across the desert floor.

Thud...

Thud...

Thud...

Thud...

The thousand expert rank 2 sandworms fell.

The walls were silent.

No one spoke a word.

Everyone looked at the sight with shock on their faces.

The lodgekeeper stood on the walls with his hands in his pockets.

No one had seen him attack. Only his eye color changed.

How terrifying. Different thoughts were running through different minds.

"Perhaps he can really kill creatures with his mind?" Vanity thought.

"Maybe he has some sort of invisible affinity?" someone else thought.

"Or he’s so fast that we didn’t see him move?" another person thought.

No one could come to a specific conclusion.

But one thing was certain. This man was too powerful.

He had killed them in just a second?

Vanity himself had never felt so weak in front of someone.

A few moments ago, these creatures had been his worst nightmare. But someone had effortlessly killed them without moving an inch.

How terrifying.

The other people on the wall also looked at the mysterious lodgekeeper with expressions of shock on their faces.

If this man wanted to take over the town, he could have done that a long time ago.

But he chose to run a lodge rather?

This was when it occurred to them that he may not be in town permanently.

Those who frequented the Rustwater lodge to hide from troublemakers after them could only sigh. After he left, they’d have no choice but to face their enemies on their own since they can’t hide in the lodge anymore.

Suddenly, everyone saw a very large sandworm screeching from afar.

It was a legendary rank 2 chaotic beast.

It was the horde commander.

However, it met the same fate as the horde it commanded.

Sudden splurge of blood from its center.

One half of the body sliding off the other.

A dull thud.

It was dead.

Aiden absorbed the blood essence of the creatures.

They were all in a three-kilometer radius.

After he absorbed their blood essence, his range of vision, sense and smell increased considerably. His body felt lighter and stronger. He had made further progress towards advancing to the next rank.

He was satisfied with the outcome. Progress was progress.

Aiden knew that as he increased in ranks, it was only natural that the accumulated blood essence needed for breakthroughs would increase. It was only normal that his power had still not broken through to the level of a beginner rank 3 warrior after all the blood essence he had absorbed.

He nodded simply to the town Lord, and left before the town Lord or any of the people on the walls could even thank him.

As quickly as he arrived, the microscopic crimson blades returned into him. His eyes resumed their blue color. Then, he left.

Everyone stared at the gigantic piles of corpses stretched across the desert horizon below.

They let out huge sighs.

So this was the power of a legendary rank 2 warrior.

How terrifying.

"Salvage the spoils, the corpses. The senior didn’t take them because he has no need for them. Bring them to me," Vanity said to his subordinates. "Also, announce that people can return to their normal activities. The Lodgekeeper has singlehandedly killed all the expert rank 2 sandworms, and the legendary rank 2 sandworm horde commander involved."

"Yes, sir."

The subordinates nodded and got to work.

The people on the walls began to leave and spread the word of the Lodgekeeper’s feat across the town.

The announcement about what he pulled off on the walls was also made.

As for Vanity, he followed the senior to the lodge.

He needed to still express his gratitude in person to the senior even if he had nothing to offer the senior.

He was even thinking of deciding to follow the lodgekeeper when he was leaving town.

Following someone of the Lodgekeeper’s calibre would bring him a lot of benefits. This man was more terrifying than the one who had brought him here.

However, when he thought about how hard he had worked to bring Rustwater town to its current state, the money and the pleasure he had access to, he decided against it.

It was better to stay here. Also, considering the lodgekeeper’s temperament and how secretive he was, he was someone who definitely preferred moving alone. He would only be met with rejection if he decided to ask the Lodgekeeper permission to follow him.

Eventually, he arrived in front of the lodge.

The queue he saw left him shocked.

How the hell was this possible?

Did these townspeople have nothing better to do?

The chaotic beast tide had just ended and all of them were flocking to the lodge?
