Chapter 176. The new Lodgekeeper 2

The new lodgekeeper was quietly scrolling through his phone as he remained seated behind the counter.

Occasionally, the group that had ordered the tequila would glance at him.

Aiden looked at them.

"Is there anything else you’d like to order?"

The group were taken aback by his professional, polite demeanor.

"Yes, sir... errm, we’d like two rooms," one of them stuttered.

The others stared at her with an expression of shock.

They did not even have enough money to pay their taxes and rent, and she had to book rooms for them?

She stared at them with a what was I supposed to say expression.

Was she supposed to say they didn’t want to order anything else and get killed by the abnormal lodgekeeper in a fit of anger?

The others sighed.

Shit... now, they had to spend a whole night here.

Aiden replied with a professional smile, "For how long?"

"For a night, please," a dude replied. He was afraid that if he didn’t muster courage to speak, the others would say they wanted to stay here for a whole year because they were afraid the lodgekeeper wouldn’t be pleased with their response.

The moment he spoke, the others felt their hearts beating wildly in fear.

Contrary to what they expected, the lodgekeeper nodded.

"Very well, one night will be 20 dollars for a normal room and 30 dollars for a VIP room. You can pay upfront when you are ready to head upstairs."

"Yes, senior," they replied politely.

They sighed inwardly in relief.

The lodgekeeper returned to his phone.

Under their gazes, new people entered the lodge. They were a couple.

"We’d like to stay for two nights, how much is it?"

"One night is 20 dollars for a normal room and 30 dollars for a VIP room, pay upfront. Also, check the rules before you head upstairs." Aiden looked at them and spoke professionally.

The couple looked at each other.

"40 dollars for two nights is quite cheap," the man said.

"Yeah, I think it’s better than the other lodges in the other districts." The woman nodded.

The group seated on the couches scoffed.

Better than the other places in the other districts? Wait till you read the rules and realize that he doesn’t run a cooking, cleaning or housekeeping service.

The couple read the rules on the wall.

They were quite taken aback. What sort of lodge didn’t run a housekeeping, cooking and cleaning service? Was this lodgekeeper normal at all?

"Excuse me," the man said, "I don’t understand the rules. Can you kindly explain?"

"It’s just as you read, don’t think too much about it," the lodgekeeper replied. "Also, this is why the price here is more affordable."

"Babe, I think it makes sense. Let’s agree," the lady said. They were not originally from Rustwater town. They were from Velbel town. But, they got lost hunting for chaotic beasts in the desert.

They were too exhausted to return back to Velbel town. So, they decided to spend two days here and return back to Velbel town after that.

"Alright. Thank you." The couple counted 40 dollars for a normal room and paid upfront.

"Here’s your keycard. Room 21, first floor. Pleasure doing business with you," Aiden said professionally.

"Thank you." The couple nodded and walked towards the elevator.

The group seated on the couch were quite surprised. This abnormal lodgekeeper was good at running business. He used the fact that he didn’t run a housekeeping service at the lodge to justify his low prices.

What a shrewd fellow.

Bang...

Suddenly, a group of people walked into the lodge after violently swinging the door open.

There were about ten of them.

The group enjoying the tequila on the couch and the couple headed towards the elevator stared at the group of people who had walked into the lodge.

Clearly, the group who had just entered the lodge were troublemakers.

Banging through the door notoriously was a way of establishing dominance.

Also, they were led by a beginner rank 2 warrior.

The couple who had been headed towards the elevator were afraid. They were only expert rank 1 warriors. What if they were killed by these troublemakers?

As for the group on the couch, they were relaxed. They had seen what had happened to the previous group that offended the lodgekeeper.

Instead, they were itching for a good show.

These notorious fuckers were here to dig their own grave.

The group swaggered towards the counter immediately.

Aiden knew who they were.

Grim and his entourage.

He paused his game and looked up with polite indifference.

"You disturbed my business and the tranquility of my environment with your dramatic entrance. That will be 200 dollars for damages." Aiden pointed at the entrance door.

"As you can see, the handle is broken."

Grim smiled.

"We are the new owners here, scram to hell for me."

His entourage sneered.

"That’s right. Since you ruined our business, you only have yourself to blame."

"Boss, kill this shit who’s overestimating himself."

Aiden simply shrugged and returned back to his phone.

Water bullets formed in front of Grim.

However, before he could attack, microscopic crimson needles shot through his chest, pierced his heart, stopped it and appeared at his back.

Extreme pain shot through him as he looked at the crimson-eyed black-haired fellow at the counter, looking down on his phone in shock.

He had miscalculated. This fellow was not a legendary rank 1 warrior.

He was a terrifying senior.

If not, how could he...

Before he could even continue his thoughts, his water bullets disappeared. His figure froze, then he fell on the ground with a terrified expression in his eyes.

He was dead.

The members of the Grim gang and the couple who had been headed towards the elevator earlier were terrified. The members of the Grim gang dared not speak a word. They trembled in fear. Their previously overbearing demeanors had shifted into that of fear.

They looked at the corpse of their boss in fear.

There were no wounds on his body.

But he had been killed. Who the hell was this mysterious new lodgekeeper? They had been wrong about him! He was not weak.

The couple was very shocked. Shit... this man who had been professional and polite with them was the real deal.

They were thankful that they didn’t offend him over the rules of the lodge.

Else...

As for the group seated on the couches, they were equally astonished.

As expected. This new lodgekeeper was not someone to be messed with. He had a polite demeanor and didn’t look strong. But if someone mistook that for weakness, they’d pay the price for that.

"Sir, we are sorry for our behavior. Here is the 200 dollars," the lady, the assistant of Grim, who was dead, spoke as she trembled in fear.

This man was not someone to be trifled with. He killed Grim without anyone noticing. He was mysterious and powerful. He was not weak!

She took out 200 dollars and approached the counter in fear.
