The lady raised her hand. Lightning danced across her figure.

However, what happened next shocked her and the rest of her group members.

She froze.

The lightning flickering across her figure disappeared.

An expression of shock and fear appeared on her face as she stared at the black-haired fellow in summer shorts, slippers, and shirt seated behind the counter, scrolling through his phone without even looking at her.

Pain shot through her chest, then through her heart, all the way to her back. An extremely tiny dot had appeared on her chest. It was so imperceptible that it could not even be seen through her clothes.

Only she knew what had happened.

The person she thought was weak and had been hired by her boyfriend to manage the lodge, who in her opinion was acting snobbish and deserved to be taught a lesson, was not a weakling.

He was a terrifying person. If not, how could he launch an unseeable attack that could pierce through her heart without even having to move a muscle? She was a beginner rank 2 warrior, for fuck’s sake.

And he had been able to do this to her? It meant he was extremely powerful.

It was now that it hit her that the person behind the counter had indeed killed her boyfriend and taken over the lodge. She had overestimated herself.

But it was too late for regrets.

Her vision blanketed and she fell down; she was dead.

Her friends were completely terrified.

"Did he... kill her?" The group stuttered and took a few steps back in fear.

"How is that possible? She’s a beginner rank 2 warrior..."

"Wait... does it mean he actually killed the former lodgekeeper and took over the lodge?"

"What the hell?"

"This person is terrifying. Absolutely terrifying. When did he even act? He didn’t even lift his head and she just died? How is this possible? There are also no wounds on any parts of her body. Who the hell is this senior?"

Thud...

The group suddenly fell on the ground.

"Senior, it was all a misunderstanding. A big misunderstanding. Please, spare us! We will clean, wash, cook... and do everything you require..."

"Senior, please..."

Aiden finally lifted his head.

He was so absorbed in the novel he was reading that he almost forgot about these guys after killing their leader and absorbing her blood essence.

He finally put the phone in his pockets.

"We don’t run these services you are asking to provide in the lodge. Check the wall. New management. New rules. Lodge residents have to prepare their own meals, clean their own rooms and wash their own clothes. Thanks for attempting to volunteer, though."

Aiden spoke calmly with polite indifference.

However, each word he spoke hammered through their chest. The crimson-eyed senior seated behind the counter was the most terrifying person they had ever met.

"Senior, we didn’t know the difference between the sky and the earth, kindly..."

Before they could speak further, the microscopic crimson needle that had pierced through the heart of the lady lying on the floor at the moment moved.

The group felt extreme pain shot through their chests, through their hearts to their backs.

The microscopic crimson needle eventually came out of the back of the last person.

The group fell down on the ground with dull thuds.

Blood leaked through their chests into their clothes. But the leaking blood was so transient that not even a drop managed to leave their clothes and fall on the ground.

Aiden realised killing people through this method would be better than targeting their foreheads. This way, the lodge won’t be stained with blood.

He absorbed their blood essence and sent them into his storage bracelet anyway. He could use them to set some traps for chaotic beasts in the future when the situation required it. Also, it won’t be good for customer service if they entered the lodge to find corpses on the ground.

As for the microscopic crimson needle, it turned into a microscopic blob of blood and returned into him.

The lodge was completely clean and well kept, as if Aiden had not just killed a group of people and absorbed their blood essence.

Suddenly, several individuals entered the lodge.

There were three of them, two men and two women.

They sized up the man at the counter. They were just about to enter the lodge when they heard the interaction between the new lodgekeeper and the group of people who thought they could throw their weight around here.

They had been following this person for a while now, since a day prior when he arrived in town.

They had deemed him a weakling they could rob and use his money to pay their taxes and rent.

Following him had led them to this lodge.

This was when they notified him seated at the counter in an altercation with the girlfriend of the former lodgekeeper, a beginner rank 2 warrior and her friends.

What they witnessed after that sent ripples of shock through their hearts.

He killed the beginner rank 2 warrior and her friends without even moving.

How he even attacked was a mystery. No display of an affinity. Nothing.

This was when it occurred to them that he had killed the old lodgekeeper and taken over.

Who was this terrifying mysterious new lodgekeeper?

And where the hell did he come from?

To think they had wanted to rob him earlier.

And what the hell was up with the new rules?

He didn’t even run a cooking, cleaning or housekeeping services for the residents of the lodge?

Won’t this cause misunderstandings between him and those who wanted to have rooms in the lodge?

What the hell was wrong with this new lodgekeeper?

As for why they didn’t turn around and flee but entered the lodge, they didn’t want the new lodgekeeper to misunderstand things.

What if he thought they were some thugs spying on him after they turned around to run away and he killed them?

The only choice they had was to come here, order some drinks, and eventually leave. That way the lodgekeeper would see them as regular customers who were just here to order some drinks.

When the group stepped into the lodge, Aiden looked up with a polite professional smile that left them shocked. Was this really the person they had witnessed killing those people a few moments ago without lifting a finger?

"What can I do for you?" The lodgekeeper asked.

"We would like to order four shots of tequila, sir," one of them said.

"That will be thirty dollars," Aiden, the lodgekeeper, said.

"Alright." The group put the money on the counter politely.

They watched the lodgekeeper get the drinks for them.

"Thank you." They nodded to him politely as their hearts thumped in fear.

"Pleasure doing business with you," Aiden said with a professional smile.

They carried the drinks and found some couches to sit on, then started to enjoy their drinks.

Occasionally, they’d steal glances at the new lodgekeeper.

This new lodgekeeper was abnormal...
