Chapter 2069: Let The World Knows (1)
Eleven figures flushed out of the shadow created by his flame. It took Zara less than two minutes to flush them out of their hiding spot. Then she also came out from the shadow with her wings fully open. She landed in front of Tang Shaoyang and Avyn.
“They were quite skilled, or maybe they just expected me to come for them. Either way, I have killed six of them and forced them out.” Then she glanced at the shadow with a frown, “There are a few still hiding. They are quite slippery, so don’t lower your guard.”
Out of the eleven figures in the sky, three of them turned around and tried to escape. One lost his right leg, another one lost his left hand, and the third still had five black swords stuck in his body. The three knew there was something wrong with the wound inflicted by Zara, so they made a decisive judgment to look for help.
The remaining eight figures were clearly displeased, but they said nothing, fully focused on Tang Shaoyang, Zara, and Avyn.
“TANG SHAOYANG!” A roar resounded in the air as a figure, blazing in flame, landed around twenty meters away from Tang Shaoyang.
This figure was the leader of the Soul Mercenaries, who was hired to fight Tang Shaoyang. He was the leader of twenty thousand members of mercenary factions, and he brought every member of the Allavaine to take on the job, around thirteen thousand mercenaries.
From those thirteen thousand mercenaries, less than three hundred survived, and as the battle continued, the numbers kept dwindling. It wasn’t until he found out from his contractor that he was fighting a summon, ordering him and the other mercenaries to kill the summoner to win the fight.
Reyner immediately looked for Tang Shaoyang and killed two more damned spirits on the way. Not long after, another four people also gathered. They were the leader of the other hired mercenaries, looking for Tang Shaoyang to finish the request or avenge their members.
Tang Shaoyang was quite impressed that eight spirits died for these five people. It was quite amazing, and he was quite excited for the fight.
“You have no shame in killing people who are of a much lower rank than yours for an Executive Administrator!” The second one to arrive spoke in a deep voice. He remained calm, but he was radiating a fierce killing intent at Tang Shaoyang.
Tang Shaoyang chuckled, “Shouldn’t you blame yourself for your people’s death? Why did you bring them when you are going to fight a God Rank? Are you an idiot or what?”
“And you seem to know that the target is an Executive Administrator too, yet you bring them with you? Aren’t you just sending them to their death?”
He found it was laughable for them to be mad over their people’s deaths. They brought their people who were much lower in rank in the fight against a God Rank. Now they were mad and told him that he was not supposed to kill them. This “Or are you mad that you can’t use your people as human shields? Did I kill them so fast that you can’t figure out what I can do?”
They seemed to be trying to say something in response, but Tang Shaoyang was not going to waste his time with this useless conversation. His feet glowed in gold as Heavenly Energy burst forth. His figure moved while leaving an illusion, an image, while his actual body was much farther ahead than that illusion.
Reyner could see the movement clearly, and from those illusions, he could tell that Tang Shaoyang was after him. He felt something amiss because he sensed an immense danger. When his eyes caught up with the illusion, he saw Tang Shaoyang in front of him with the battle axe.
Tang Shaoyang didn’t even try to sneak up on him. He was right in front of Reyner, towering above him as the battle axe was coming down.
Reyner was caught off guard and raised his broadsword. He received the blazing axe with his sword. The moment their sword clashed, his fire clashed against Tang Shaoyang’s black fire. The black fire turned into waves, overpowering his fire.
At the same time, the force behind that battle axe sent him skidding on the ground, pushing him backward. He could feel the searing pain in his arms. That black flame went through his own fire and burned him. That surprised him because he was not supposed to feel that pain, especially when he was in his elemental form.
The reason was that he didn’t feel Tang Shaoyang using a skill that could disrupt or hurt his elemental form. There were certain skills and types of energy that could break the elemental form.
“Be careful with his fire. It could hurt you even when you are in your elemental form!” He warned the others right away as he identified that this black fire might have a special property that could be used against the elemental form.
That was when he noticed something weirder. The soil and its surroundings lost their color. It was like he was entering the world of black and white. Then white trees emerged from the ground. Those white trees grew sparsely, but the sudden change alarmed him and the others.
“What happened?” Reyner was utterly confused, but he kept track of Tang Shaoyang while trying to understand what had happened.
The first thing he noticed was that the temperature suddenly rose manyfold. He didn’t feel anything before, but the heat started to bother him. Then the next thing he noticed was that his elemental form was getting weakened. The boost he got from the elemental form was reduced for sure.
“We are in his domain—”
Someone tried to tell something about what happened, but the voice was cut off. He looked up in the direction and found a figure in a black cloak who was struck by ten swords. Two in the head, one in the neck, and the rest in the body. This figure was someone from the Shadow Star, but he could not know who this person was with that cloak.
The swords were black, but Reyner was confident that those were sword constructs made of energy. He could not really tell with his eyes the sudden change, but he had enough information about what had happened. This was Tang Shaoyang’s domain, a weird domain.
Reyner truly tried to figure out what the domain did until he sensed something coming from underground. He jumped backward and looked down. Torn like trees burst out from the ground, and it kept growing up before turning into a whip, whipping from above.
It was unexpected that he could not block the incoming torn in time. It hit his left shoulder and sent him down with a boom.
Reyner was still on his feet while acute pain was transmitted from his left shoulder. He glanced and found out that his elemental form had crumbled, revealing the flesh wound and his blood. Only the part where he got whipped didn’t cover his body.
He swung his broadsword to get rid of the dust, only to find more than a hundred swords hovering around him. All of them were pointing at him.
Reyner forcefully pushed more energy into his elemental form and changed his body shape. The moment the sword moved, he also moved. The crimson fire was weaving through the sword, dodging all the sword in a smaller form of fire.
After what happened with the torn early, he learned his lesson that Tang Shaoyang had an answer for his elemental form. He escaped the sword’s encirclement and tried to create distance from Tang Shaoyang. But once he got back to his original shape, he sensed someone behind him.
He turned away, and Tang Shaoyang was there with his battle axe. He raised his sword, blocking the axe that came from the side. The clash pushed him back slightly, but he maintained his balance. That was when he sensed vibration from the ground.
Reyner didn’t hesitate to jump away as more black thorns burst out from where he had just stood. But then he faced another wave of sword construction in which he had to change his form to move freely between the swords. This change of shape helped him with his movement, but he would not be able to do anything but move around in this shape. He didn’t think his fire was strong enough to face Tang Shaoyang’s fire after their early clash.
He escapes another sword construct’s encirclement, again trying to create some distance from Tang Shaoyang. He was fighting one person, but it felt like he was fighting against more than five people at once. There was no chance for him to fight back as he was being defensive all the time.
That was when things crossed his mind; he was not alone here. More people wanted to kill Tang Shaoyang. He gave a quick look at the other side and found out that they were trying to fight Tang Shaoyang. However, those sides were overwhelmed by thorns and sword constructs.
Reyner didn’t expect the other four mercenary leaders to be having a hard time as well. But he noticed that there was no one from Shadow Star who attempted on Tang Shaoyang.
From the seven people in the black cloaks that stayed in the air, only two remained visible, and the other five were missing. That angered him even more than the fact that they tried to fight for these people, for the Shadow Star.
“You should not get distracted if you want to kill me!”
He jolted in shock when he heard the voice. His anger distracted her from the real Tang Shaoyang, who was on him. He then turned around toward the voice, ready to fend off another attack, only to find that Tang Shaoyang was not attacking him. Tang Shaoyang was standing around fifteen meters away from him, but then he realized that he was inside a dome, a dome made of black fire.
Reyner quickly understood what the dome was for. It was to lock him inside a certain area, isolating him from the others. He took a deep breath and held his broad sword with both hands in a stance.
