Chapter 2011: Ouyang Biya (2)
Chapter 2011: Ouyang Biya (2)
Ouyang Biya got distracted for a moment, and the monster with the axe appeared in front of her. That shocked her because she did not see the monster’s movement. While she was checking on her subordinates, she kept an eye on this monster as well. She could not see or sense his movement at all.
That was when she realized the monster did not move; it was teleporting. It disappeared and appeared in front of her using some kind of teleportation skill. She had known a long time ago that the people from outside the Sacred Realm used something called skill, something different than their mobility arts.
She did not recall there was such a technique in the Sacred Realm. There was one technique that allowed them to move too fast, which almost looked like teleportation. But this one was different; this one was actual teleportation.
While it surprised her, she still reacted swiftly. Her gentle energy flowed into her sword as she raised it upward. Her sword slid next to the battle, and she pushed the axe to the side. It looked like she redirected the battle axe with no effort, thanks to Gentle Flow. Then she pushed the battle axe down to the ground.
The battle axe hit the empty ground. Ouyang Biya kicked the ground, pushing herself into the air. Her body spun in the air before landing a kick to the monster’s chest.
She furrowed her brow when she landed the kick. It was like kicking the toughest steel in her life. The kick sent the monster flying, but she felt like it didn’t really hurt the monster that much.
The monster crashed into trees before crashing to the ground. As she expected, the moment her feet landed on the ground, the monster appeared in front of her once more. This confirmed her suspicion that the monster possessed a teleportation skill.
This time, the monster swung the battle axe from her left side, a horizontal swing to her waist. She reacted quicker, having her sword ready right below the battle axe. She pushed the battle axe upward, moving past her head, and pushing it down to the empty ground to her right.
At the same time, her internal energy gathered in her left palm. It formed a blossoming cherry blossom flower. The color slowly changed into bright blood red, and she sent it to the monster’s chest. It was another Ouyang Family’s legacy technique, Blood Blossom Palm.
She heard the cracking noise in the air as her palm sent the monster flying once more. She thought she had broken the monster’s defense, but then she saw the figure standing up again beyond the cloud dust, still holding the same axe.
As the dust settled, she saw the wound. Three scales cracked and fell off as black flood gushed out from the wound in the cherry blossom mark. But that only lasted for five seconds before the wound was healed and new scales grew back.
Ouyang Biya was frustrated with how strong her opponent was. Not in terms of fighting capability, but in toughness. She felt like this monster could take a lot of beating, and all the beating might not be able to kill it. The Blood Blossom Palm was supposed to create a hole in that chest, yet the monster survived with just a few scales broken and a shallow wound on the chest.
The worst part was that she must split her attention among the others. The other monsters moved up and fought her subordinates. There were no casualties yet, but she could tell that the monsters were cornering her people.
Another bad news was the fact that the similar monster who was her target was the Executive Administrator Tang Shaoyang. This one had not made any move yet, along with the two gorgeous women who stayed next to him. She hoped the winged woman would jump into a fight, so she could take her down. Killing that winged woman would restore their artifact to create the portals, but she did not get the chance because of the monster in front of her, and also the skeleton that could shoot a lump of deadly energy from far away.
Another concern was the skeleton that summoned the monster she fought as well. This skeleton did not join the fight. This skeleton was watching her fight instead. She did not know whether the skeleton was waiting for a chance for her to make a mistake to send a fatal blow to her, or if it was there to watch.
With all concerns piled up, she could not really focus on the fight in front of her. She felt like she would be able to get rid of the monster that kept coming for her if not for all these concerns.
She was distracted once more, and the monster appeared behind him. The monster tried to attack him from the back after it kept falling to get him from the front.
Ouyang Biya merely clicked her tongue in annoyance as she swung her sword behind her back. At the same time, a fierce whirlwind formed around her. The battle axe met with the whirlwind and bounced back.
Ouyang Biya realized that the situation was more dire than she thought. She realized that she could no longer wait for reinforcement, especially since their enemy had not gone all out yet. She must take this chance to take down the winged woman and escape before they suffer more loss than they already have.
The monster was getting pushed back from clashing against her whirlwind. This was the chance for her to get rid of this monster. Her energy intensified, flowing around her sword intensely. Then her energy turned blood red.
She moved up using her mobility art, Blood Blossom Dance. Her mobility arts created an afterimage of her, giving confusion to her enemy. The monster was focusing on her after image until it realized she was in front of it already. However, it was too late for the monster to realize it as she was midway through her strike.
Ouyang Biya thrust her sword forward. The blood energy swirled fiercely around her sword, and at the same time, an image of a blood cherry blossom formed behind her. The sword reached the monster’s chest. The scales could not contain her attack. Her swirling energy drilled into the monster’s chest and created a hole. The black scales, along with the grounded meat and scales splattered all around, before sending the monster flying.
Even with the hole in the monster’s chest, Ouyang Biya knew that was not enough to kill it. She formed five swords with her internal energy. The sword was blood-red. She sent the swords after the monsters with her perfect control over the flying swords.
As the five swords were about to pierce the monster, who was still in the air, a figure in black armor appeared before the monster. Her sword, which was supposed to pin down the monster, was blocked by the black shield. She thought her swords were strong enough to destroy the shield, but she was wrong, as her swords bounced back.
The figure with the black armor then swung at her sword, which destroyed her sword into energy particles. She was alarmed because she had not seen this black-armored figure before. When she looked around, she realized that she was being surrounded by three figures whom she also did not see among the monsters who surrounded her and her people.
That was when he heard the skeleton who summoned the monster speak. It did not speak to her, speaking to itself.
“Alright. I have enough data to know what to improve. It’s time to get data from you.”
The robed skeleton did not speak to her, but she knew it was talking about her.
