Chapter 2010: Ouyang Biya (1)
Chapter 2010: Ouyang Biya (1)
Ouyang Biya could not feel anything from all the monsters surrounding her and her subordinates. These monsters did not emit the slightest energy from their body or even aura. The only thing she could tell was that these monsters were stronger, far stronger than their expectation.
The information mentioned that their target had a weird summoning ability. It did mention that the ability was quite strong, but the information mentioned that the summons should not be stronger than the summoner. It made sense, and they still put their target’s threat level below Clementine and Arion.
However, they were wrong; she was wrong. One monster who could literally kill anyone, from her subordinates, from faraway, so far that it would take her a few minutes to reach. She was confident that she would be able to kill this monster, but that meant she had to leave her subordinates.
That was when she realized that they might be falling into a trap instead of cornering their target. She was not confident of winning the fight without suffering a lot of casualties. That was the reason why she ordered her people to retreat.
Yet, to her surprise, the winged woman did something that destabilized the portals and eventually destroyed them portal. They tried to create the portals for the second time, but their artifact completely stopped working. The winged woman did something to interfere with their portal.
That was when Ouyang Biya realized that she must focus on the winged woman if she wanted everyone to return alive. She was about to take an action, taking the initiative, and did the unexpected when she was being surrounded with a hope of catching the winged woman off guard.
However, she sensed danger coming from behind. The same beam that injured Mo Donghui earlier. She noticed that the beam had an aspect to reduce the healing aspect. Even a True God Realm had a slow recovery when hit by the beam. It was fatal to the True God Realm, and it would be even more dangerous for the God Realm and Immortal Emperor Realm to get hit with it.
She created ten swords made of her internal energy, one of the Ouyang Family’s sword techniques. The ten swords flew off to block all ten beams. She made it in time; all ten swords managed to arrive in time in the ten beams’ trajectory.
Ouyang Biya thought that her swords would be able to block the beam, but four of her swords broke apart. Her sword broke into energy particles, and four of her subordinates got shot in the head.
The beam did not go through their heads, but the moment the beam touched their heads, their heads evaporated, just the head. Just like that, she lost another four Emperor Realms. The four figures that could dominate an area in the Sacred Realm died without being able to do anything.
“Get down! We can’t fight them in the air!”
She quickly realized that the monster that could shoot the beam was a bigger problem for them. To make things worse, they put themselves in the air to be an easy target, wide open.
“Draw your swords and get ready to fight!”
The moment her feet touched the ground, she sensed something dangerous coming for her. Her head snapped in the direction and found the monster with a massive axe was above her. The axe above the monster, and crimson energy gathered around the axe blade.
Ouyang Biya could feel an ominous energy from the battle axe. She could block it, but she could tell how much power was packed behind that axe. She could dodge it, but that would endanger her people behind her.
Ouyang Biya was not going to sacrifice the people behind her. A sword appeared in her right hand. She threw the sheath and revealed the sword. It was made of red-colored steel, one of the Ouyang Family’s treasures she managed to secure after her family fell.
The rose-colored energy burst out from her body, and the energy flowed naturally around her and her sword. She looked up and thrust the sword upward, and of course, she did not plan to meet the axe head-on. Instead, she used the sword to deflect the axe. Like a gentle gust, it redirects the axe to the side smoothly.
It was another one of the Ouyang Family’s sword art, Gentle Flow. The art was created by his ancestor to neutralize the enemy’s attack with a sword instead of using an energy barrier or shield, directing the force behind the attack somewhere else.
The Ouyang Family especially did not have a specialty. The Ouyang Family created many fist arts, sword arts, and more. They gathered and created all kinds of techniques and mastered them. Versatility brought their name to glory.
Gentle Flow might not have the fatality of the other sword arts, but once you master it, you can deflect almost all attacks. Just like how she deflected the battle axe into the empty ground as it went with a boom.
She and her people immediately created distance from the explosion. As the dust settled, they saw what a single attack could do. The ground was split into two, creating a deep cliff.
Ouyang Biya was glad that she chose to deflect the battle axe instead of dodging it. It might catch her subordinates off guard and bury them in the pit. She made the right decision to deflect the battle axe.
The monster’s head snapped and looked at her. There was something weird with this monster. It was moving, but it did not look like a living being. Its eyes looked lifeless, stone cold, with no emotion. That was certainly not the look from someone alive.
’Is it Jiangshi?’
’I guess they have a moving skeleton here, a moving corpse is not that uncommon.’
Ouyang Biya kept her head straight and kept her guard up. She must survive and save as much as she can until the reinforcement comes. She hoped the people who managed to escape earlier would come back with a bigger reinforcement.
