Armed Train in the Apocalypse
Chapter 893 - 503: Embers of the Long Night (Part 12)
"It’s a real damn privilege to let me lead your wedding procession!"
Then a thunderous slap, emitting a three-meter-long electric arc, tore through the space and swept in.
The groom didn’t say a word, and his entire being, along with that piece of space, was forcefully ripped apart by the furious current, like a two-dimensional sheet of paper, crumpled fiercely and slammed onto the vermilion door.
"Boom, boom, boom—"
Those dozen or so Evil Anomalies clutching wine jars and the stacked chairs blocked the way at the front; in such a high-level confrontation, they turned into energy chaos in an instant, shredded to smithereens.
Next, the carved beams and painted buildings along with the main door, didn’t even have a chance to struggle, vanishing in an instant thunderous roar.
Stone slabs shattered, bricks and stones flew, and a three-meter-wide gully appeared beyond the main gate, cutting through the front courtyard, the central courtyard, and crossing the central building.
The round tables on both sides of the front courtyard were filled with Evil Anomalies dressed in various styles, who now stood up in shock, looking at the man outside the door with his mouth grinning to his ears, eyes like a Cold Abyss.
Su Huan had long been unable to suppress his anger; as soon as he came in, a station was dead, and he endured it. He finally found some survivors, but there was only a platoon left, and he endured that too. After all, there’s no war without death; this is the apocalyptic world, an era where human life is worthless.
The world devours humans, war devours humans, people devour each other, and now even a stray dog on the roadside dares to eat humans right in front of him!
One whole brigade fought down to just over a thousand men, only this few seeds left; if they died on the battlefield, he wouldn’t say anything. War is about you kill me, I kill you, no one can guarantee they’ll always be the one to survive.
But what is this now?
A stray dog coming out of nowhere, setting up something like a sick joke, just trying to tear a bite?
A high-ranking colonel of Donghuang, simply devoured like that.
A lifetime on horseback, and instead of dying wrapped in horsehide, ended up buried in this filthy pit. That word, comrade, still echoed in his mind; boundless fury boiling over like suppressed hot water, frantically assaulting his sanity.
If not for confirming your position, why would he be here playing make-believe with her?
Omni-Reverse Use had long stimulated Su Huan’s essence and spirit to the extreme, and the moment the Domain unfolded, the entire sky changed color; the intense killing intent made the whole world feel like it was soaked in a river of blood, transforming the wedding procession, the onlookers, guests, and even the surrounding brick-and-stone ancient towns into mere illusions, a boat amidst a flood.
The Major shivered violently, even though he had witnessed Su Huan’s spectacular scene of wiping out a hundred riders with a single finger, the palpable killing intent still made his knees tremble; yet watching the groom being slapped away by Su Huan, a joy surged from the depths of his heart, moistening his eyes slightly.
"He’s so similar, truly similar..."
Qin Mian dropped the fruit in his hand, standing unknowingly beside the Major, curiously asking, "Commander, similar to whom?"
On normal days, soldiers not only wouldn’t approach him, much less respond like this.
The life-and-death battles long forged a bond surpassing ranks, the Major squinted his eyes hard, squeezing back those unnecessary tears, "Like the General."
"The General isn’t as powerful as my Captain!"
...
The red candles burned with a ghostly white flame, like moonlight soaked in well water, dim and cold, barely illuminating the room adorned with ’Double Happiness’ characters.
Windows, mirrors, and chests were plastered with paper-cuts of ’Double Happiness’, intricately crafted, the edges slightly curled, the color that dark russet shade of dried ancient bloodstains.
A graceful silhouette sat at a vanity near the window, with a Mirror reflecting no features, just a smooth face with only freshly applied lipstick, crimson as droplets about to fall; she was carefully tracing her brows with an eyebrow pencil when her groom, aided by the train conductor, crashed through three barriers, smashing into the boudoir, landing directly at her feet.
Even an Evil Anomaly constructed of Rules could not withstand Su Huan’s unreasonable thunderous slap, getting smashed completely; what’s underfoot now can no longer be distinguished between head and foot, like a twisted ball of red flesh, slowly absorbing the surrounding black air, slowly recovering.
Yet the woman in bridal attire was utterly stunned in front of the vanity, a sudden black mark slashed across her face like an ugly scar.
A face with only a mouth looked up and screamed, its sound piercing as it echoed in the air.
"Ahhhhh——"
The surrounding red candles flickered madly, but in the next moment, a large hand entwined in electric light reached from outside the room, gripping precisely at the Evil Anomaly bride’s skull, energy torrents surged in, and the red candles were instantly extinguished.
The entire room was left only with the illumination of the ferocious, dancing electricity; the large hand pressed her head to bend her further, her neck nearly twisted to 270 degrees, the Evil Anomaly bride finally saw the ’person’ who had intruded into her Domain.
Pupils black as night expanded rapidly, consuming the whites of her eyes in a breath’s time, her mouth cracked open with tightly packed teeth, no gaps, a luminous white pattern sprawling across her body, rendering her skin as translucent as jade, revealing faint green veins and orange-red flesh beneath!
As long as she takes a bite, she can be reborn with this flesh and blood!
Had it been usual times, a person akin to precious medicine appearing before her would drive her into a frenzy, but the horrific killing intent emanating from him caused her heart to tremble, urging a frantic desire to escape.
The intent to kill seemed to solidify into a tangible sea of blood, roaring behind Su Huan, shadows rising from the sea, cold and maliciously staring at her, and the sheer number was far more than tens of millions!
As an Evil Anomaly formed by Rules, she could see many things, those were not assembled by her Rules but were real individuals who once existed, leaving their marks in this world!
And those few figures standing atop the surging flood of blood, their mere presence choked her breath away.
Su Huan, unaware why this Evil Anomaly was stunned, had reached his peak fury, relentlessly extracting energy from the three hearts and forced them into circulation, then there was only one step left—output.
The soldiers standing outside soon saw a dozen nearly black electric lights being pulled from the ground like tree roots, instantly tearing the precarious eerie town to shreds; everything around them seemed like a poorly rendered VR game, the scene flickering.
In the end, even the very room Su Huan had broken into couldn’t be sustained any longer.
The maniacal laughter was the first thing to spill out, followed by scenes the warriors would find chilling even after decades.
For a moment, the crowd could hardly tell who the real Evil Anomaly was.
"What audacious dogs..."
"Why are you shaking? Even if your head is ripped off, you can still revive, what are you afraid of?"
"You must be dying to eat me, right?"
"I’m already at your mouth, why not have a taste?"
"..."
...
Evil Anomalies cannot be killed, only sealed.
But Su Huan struck for a full two hours, towards the end, though the Evil Anomaly still coldly stared at him, it no longer resisted, even if Su Huan disassembled her into pieces.
It wasn’t until his fury had vented to about seventy to eighty percent that Su Huan totally sealed her away.
Eternal Night cloaked the earth, proclaiming the end of it all.
The wilderness once again turned empty and desolate, the ancient towns, the weddings, all seemed like a grand dream to everyone.
Of the more than a thousand warriors, aside from the few hundred in the wedding procession, the rest lay scattered in the wilderness.
"Commander, we survived."
Qin Mian’s voice was calm, yet his eyes seemed to be burning with flames.
The Major awoke as if from a dream, quickly calling out to those around him to wake the people lying on the ground, it’s over thirty degrees below zero, falling asleep here could truly mean death, surviving the forbidden zone only to die in the cold would be a great loss indeed.
Upon counting, the entire 892 brigade was roughly intact, but including the Colonel, over forty people could never be awakened again.
