Before he could completely relax, he suddenly noticed something was wrong.

Looking at the clear surroundings and the light sliced by the window before him, he was shocked and abruptly looked out the window.

The bright sunlight illuminated the villa opposite in every detail, and the breeze blew in through the open window, moving the white sheer curtains—day had broken—this scene so mundane it was nearly unreal left the soldier dumbstruck.

The soldier opened his mouth, but no sound came out, and his eyes, seemingly stung by the sunlight, filled with unending tears.

The overly suppressed sound of crying woke his comrades from their dreams.

Everyone was crying and howling with joy, and when Qin Mian rushed outside and looked at the sky, he was dumbfounded.

A massive light orb hovered above the villa district. Why was it evident at a glance that it wasn’t the sun? Because the orb was too low, so low that anyone could see the problem immediately.

Qin Mian looked around blankly. Although the surroundings looked just like daytime at first glance, there were minor differences.

"Awake?"

A clear voice came from the balcony.

As soon as Qin Mian looked up, he saw his lenient Company Commander sitting on the railing and hurriedly ran up to him.

Walking onto the balcony, Qin Mian looked at Su Huan, who seemed as calm as an ordinary person, then glanced at the light orb overhead and the breeze on his face, swallowed hard, and asked, "Did you create this...?"

Su Huan tossed aside a random novel he had found in the study, laughed lightly, and said, "I was too lazy to call you, so I used this method. How did you sleep last night?"

Within his Domain, he could create not just sunlight but even the real sun if he wanted to, and the breeze was even simpler. By setting the energy in the air in motion, he naturally created the tranquil scene before them.

Qin Mian nodded with a complicated expression, looked lovingly at the outside scenery, and said, "I’ll go wake them up."

The train conductor stretched and then lightly jumped down.

The moment he landed, the light orb in the sky quietly extinguished, and darkness once again enveloped the earth.

This simulated daybreak, lasting only over an hour, became a sight many would never forget in their lifetimes.

People from the Composite Brigade had already gone on their mission several hours earlier, so Su Huan didn’t see the lieutenant colonel when Qin Mian and the others tidied up and left.

After only a few minutes from their base, they encountered a hurried SUV head-on, with Gangdan quickly intercepting it and bringing the driver back.

...

"Are you saying that on the way to the battle site, you accidentally entered a forbidden zone?"

Su Huan reiterated the critical information.

The soldier nodded repeatedly and said through clenched teeth, "They disappeared right in front of me. If I hadn’t slammed on the brakes, I would have gone in too."

Saying this, the soldier looked conflicted, "Could you...?"

Beside him, Gangdan discreetly stepped on his foot and cryptically said, "We have our mission too."

Though it wasn’t explicitly stated, the entire brigade knew how crucial Su Huan was. Such a powerful figure wouldn’t just appear on the Eternal Night’s battlefield for no reason; he probably carried an even heavier mission.

The soldier took a deep breath, solemnly saluted Su Huan, and was about to leave when a single sentence rooted him to the spot.

"What forbidden zones are nearby?"

Gangdan wanted to speak but was held back by Qin Mian, who subtly gestured to him.

Although they’d only been together for a short time, this was someone who wouldn’t take advice. He took out a wad of maps from his pocket, looked through it while muttering, "The chief of staff gave me this before leaving, said you might find it useful."

Looking at that pile of meticulously drawn maps, Su Huan pressed his lips together.

Qin Mian didn’t notice the subtle expression, bit on the flashlight, and pointed at the map, "This is our location; the nearest forbidden zone is over a hundred kilometers to the east. Logically, there shouldn’t be any forbidden zones nearby... It might be newly formed, or they crossed paths with a wandering Evil Anomaly."

Su Huan nodded slightly and looked at the soldier, "Lead the way. I want to see how wicked this thing really is."

The soldier opened his mouth, saluted again, and turned to lead the way at a run.

The Shovel Company set out again, marching with resolute steps.

Gangdan, running at the back, softly questioned Qin Mian, "Do you know how important the company commander is?"

Qin Mian’s bright eyes fixed on the leisurely figure ahead, "I know. Our company, our brigade, even our entire division added together might not be as important as the company commander."

"Then why aren’t you stopping him? Why didn’t you let me stop him?"

Gangdan was somewhat angry. He had never seen an Evolver more powerful than Su Huan. If sent to divisional headquarters or even a higher command center, he might really end the Eternal Night.

They knew nothing for certain, but they knew Su Huan was the only light they could reach.

"Because he is the company commander, and I will follow his orders unconditionally!"

"Even if it leads to greater loss for us?"

"He is the company commander; he won’t be wrong!"

Qin Mian looked resolute.

Gangdan was too angry to speak, running silently ahead, and soon they arrived at the end of the tracks.

The Composite Brigade wasn’t originally a Composite Brigade. Through endless battles, various troops were integrated, making the unit more diverse and naturally transforming it into a Composite Brigade, with quite a few vehicles.

Su Huan raised his hand, focusing on the area ahead.

In his perception, a vast heteromorphic energy zone appeared, more conspicuous than the "Eternal Night" Celestial Disaster Zone, like a dome covering the ground, its range not even as extensive as his Domain.

Su Huan quickly understood; the opponent was at most on par with him. Boldly, he thought he would just blow it up!

That day, he decided to see whether they were wicked or he was more so!

No one saw the train conductor’s mouth curl high, his eyes filled with a chilling, mad grin.

With no orders given, Su Huan stepped directly into the forbidden zone.

The soldiers behind him didn’t hesitate, gripping their rifles with fierce expressions.

As soon as he stepped in, Su Huan felt a nauseating sensation as if someone had chewed on him. Luminous white lines spontaneously appeared, resisting the Rule pressed in from all directions.

Feeling as if he might be repelled, Su Huan frowned, restraining his energy.

The moment the Rule landed on him, he successfully entered the forbidden zone.

Although it was still nighttime, there was light. He stood on the street of an ancient-style town, each household lit with red lanterns, a bright red ’double happiness’ character written on them, red like blood seeping out.

In just a moment, the previously calm street suddenly filled with people. Faceless pedestrians appeared, as did soldiers who had entered with him. But no matter who, their clothes turned a festive red, each one painted and powdered, looking extremely strange.

Upon seeing Su Huan’s face, the soldiers visibly relaxed, discreetly gathering around him.

"What brings you here?!"

A sudden exclamation came from beside him.

Turning, Su Huan saw a middle-aged man. He didn’t recognize him at first, but the man quickly introduced himself.

A battalion-level officer subordinated to the brigade, holding the rank of major.

Su Huan raised an eyebrow in surprise, "Where’s your chief of staff?"

Sorrow flashed in the man’s eyes, "Gone."

Before Su Huan could ask further, a faceless person dressed in ancient attire placed a red tray in Su Huan’s hands. The tray was wooden, feeling extremely tangible to touch, holding two pairs of shoes, one male, one female.

The faceless person instructed, "You’ll be at the front of the procession for the bride soon, carrying this courage; if anything goes wrong and you ruin the young master’s business, watch your skin!"

Then, under the conductor’s nuanced gaze, the faceless person handed various trays to the soldiers behind, also arranging their positions.

Some trays held golden ingots, silver ingots, others had pork hocks with tails, fresh fruits, and vegetables, a dazzling array, everything imaginable.

He looked sideways to see the major holding two sets of new clothes.

The latter wanted to say something, but now twelve pairs of faceless people beating drums and gongs appeared at the front, and the festive sound spread throughout the eerie town.
