[Day 1 of 1 for SSS Level Shadow Plane.]

Alex was delighted to see such a windfall after so long.

It would alleviate a lot of stress for him with the dwindling resources he had in his storage space as the days went by.

He walked up to where Riley and the others were and asked, "Everyone alright?"

They shrugged and nodded.

These Stage I and Stage II mutated ants weren’t too difficult for them to deal with.

And they were feeling stronger after eliminating so many of them.

"Then, let’s continue with what we were doing." Alex said and he went on to clear the path.

It didn’t take him too long to reach the buses and trucks that were on the other end of the highway and he got into one of the buses to check.

Inside the bus, whoever was inside it was already gone, leaving behind only their belongings in a mess.

He got into the driver’s seat, checked the fuel gauge and he was glad that it was nearly full.

Then, he placed his hand on the key of the bus and turned it.

The engine of the bus spurted for a few moments before it roared back to life again.

Alex gave out a sigh of relief and he got down from the bus.

He stood by the side of the bus, waved his hand across it, and the bus disappeared from sight in the next moment.

With the first bus settled, he went on to check on the others.

But out of the other four buses, only three were still serviceable.

Alex got the fuel out of the bus that was damaged and topped up the other buses before storing them in his storage space.

It was the same for the trucks, and he was able to store two of them, which were still working.

And with that, the path on the highway was finally cleared.

Alex and his friends got back onto their car, drove across the highway, and headed for the city.

The journey towards the city was very much different compared to their earlier journey.

Once they got down from the highway, they were greeted by bikers dressed in their usual leather biking attire.

They were by the side of the road, next to a rest stop.

All of them got onto their bikes and started the engines of their bikes when they saw their car.

"Stop right there!" The bikers shouted and they took out their pistols and rifles from their jacket or the side of their bikes.

"Hold on tight." Riley said and he stepped hard with his foot on the acceleration pedal.

Screech.

The tires of the car screeched and the engine roared immediately.

Alex felt the push from the car and he had his back against the seat.

Bang!

The bikers fired and the rounds from their firearms targeted Alex and the others.

But before the bullets could get near and hit the car, a slit appeared behind the car and it opened up.

The bullets went into the portal and the bikers couldn’t believe their eyes.

None of them knew what the hell had happened.

"Disperse now!" One of the bikers at the front shouted and he tried to steer away from where the portal was.

They had thought that with their firearms, they would be able to rob young, innocent-looking men like Alex and his friends.

But now, they’ve found out that Alex and his friends weren’t any ordinary young men.

It was too late for them.

Vroom!

The bikers turned the throttle of their bikes and a huge cloud of smoke emitted out of the exhaust.

Their speed increased a notch while they turned the handles of their bikes.

All of them tried desperately to get away from where they were.

Crackling sounds could be heard from the portal and a bright flash lit up the surroundings.

Bam!

Lightning strikes shot out from the portal towards the bikers in an instant.

A few of them at the front were hit and they were immediately pulverized into pieces with their bikes.

Alex also popped his head and shoulders out of the car window.

He raised his arm at the bikers, and there were crackling sounds and sparks of lightning appearing on Alex’s hand.

"Get out of the way!" One of the remaining bikers shouted again for the others to disperse, but it was too late.

Bam!

Lightning strikes from Alex’s hand shot out at them in a blink of an eye.

This time, they had no chance at all.

The bikes exploded and the bikers were blown into pieces.

Those that remained alive tried to turn around but they wobbled into each other instead.

Among them, those who could still move tried to get up and escape.

Alex wasn’t about to let them off.

Another torrent of lightning strikes shot out at them from the portal and it ripped the bikers apart.

What was left of them was the smoldering pile of charred bodies and ashes of the bikers in the surroundings.

A familiar sound erupted in Alex’s mind.

Information panels with words appeared in it in the next moment.

[Day 1 of 1 for SSS Level Shadow Plane.]

With all the bikers taken care of, Riley slowed down the car.

Alex glanced back at the carnage that he had created and he shook his head.

He wondered how these bikers were able to survive until they met.

Recklessly engaging with anyone so blatantly, without figuring out what they were capable of in these times, was asking for it.

And they have indeed met their end due to it.

Alex reminded himself to be cool-headed if he sneaked in the quarantine area.

As he glanced back to the front for the car, the skyline of the city with skyscrapers came into view.
