Apocalypse: My SSS Ability Changes Every Few Days
Chapter 61: Fuel
Alex thought that it would be two abilities if you consider the green gas from the sacs of the mutated bear an ability.
However, it didn’t matter much.
The mutated beasts were starting to mutate in ways that made them look so much different than how they used to be.
He glanced at the now flaccid skin which was the sacs on the body of the mutated bear earlier.
They weren’t normal to be found on a body of a bear.
While he was thinking about this, a familiar sound erupted in his mind.
Information panels with words started to appear in it.
[Ding!]
[Congratulations to Host for defeating a Stage III mutated beast!]
[Bonus for doing so being dispensed now:]
[Host able to unleash Lightning Prison with the Lightning Wielder ability.]
[Host able to manifest 3 storage portals at the same time.]
[Physiques of host enhanced to increase host’s energy level.]
[1000x bottles of water.]
[All items are stored in your storage space now.]
[Current status: 147/100]
[Day 1 of 1 for SSS Level Lightning Wielder.]
Alex immediately felt a pulse of energy coming into his body and he felt much more energetic and stronger than before.
This bonus couldn’t come at a better time.
He was able to deal with Stage II mutated beasts easily, like those mutated deer and bison.
But it was much more difficult to deal with the mutated bear in comparison.
With the bonus, Alex would be more confident doing so, now that he was stronger, and had the ability to manifest 3 storage portals and unleash the so-called lightning prison.
He hadn’t tried out the pillars of lightning, lightning web and lightning prison yet, but he would want to try them out and store some of them into his storage portal before the next battle if possible.
Riley, Terry and Brian who had caught their breath came over to him.
"Just when I thought that things couldn’t get any worse, they are getting uglier instead." Riley said with a look of disdain while he glanced at the body of the mutated bear.
Terry and Brian couldn’t agree more with it and they nodded their heads vigorously.
"I hope that they stay the same but it’s unlikely with what we’ve seen so far..." Alex shrugged his shoulders and said.
He waved his hand and the car they traveled in appeared right in front of them.
"Hop on and go to the gas station nearby." Alex said and they got into the car.
Vroom.
After the engine roared to life, Riley stepped on the gas and they headed towards the gas station that wasn’t too far away from the Halmart.
Terry and Brian closed their eyes to have a rest since they exhausted much of their energy earlier on the mutated deer and bear.
Riley, whose ability was at a level higher than them, had recovered faster than the two of them.
But he wasn’t fully recovered yet.
In comparison, Alex was as energetic as he was when they started the day.
He sat beside the driver’s seat, being alert all the time.
Thankfully, it wasn’t warranted.
The route to the gas station was clear and nothing happened along the way.
Riley only had to steer clear of the abandoned cars on the road.
Other than that, it was a smooth ride to their destination.
When they reached the gas station, a gruesome scene welcomed them.
There were a few rows of smashed and damaged cars parked around the gas station.
The car owners must have tried to barricade the gas station with their cars but they were obviously unsuccessful from the damaged cars and bodies that were lying on the ground.
It was not all there was to it.
Other than the bodies of the unfortunate folks, there were also the bodies of mutated beasts that were killed by them.
Alex sighed and he walked through one of the openings of the barricade.
While he walked towards the gas station building, ready to battle if there were any mutated beasts around, he noticed that all the bodies he saw were men or even young teenage boys.
And when he got into the building where the mart and cashier of the gas station, that was where all the women and young kids were.
But sadly, all of them had also perished.
Some of the women’s bodies held onto their kids’.
They were trying to protect their kids up until the very last minute.
But the dried crimson and stench of rotting flesh on their corpses were sad reminders to him, that they’d failed to do so.
He could only give out a long sigh for those men who fought valiantly and tried to protect their loved ones, and those unfortunate women and kids.
Not wanting to bear witness to such a scene for any longer, he walked out of the building.
Riley, Terry and Brian who were right behind him, also did the same.
They too weren’t used to such a scene.
Alex proceeded to check on the pumps and fortunately, there were still diesel and petrol left.
"How do we bring all of it back?" Riley came over to the pumps where Alex was and asked.
Alex frowned and thought for a moment before he decided to test something out.
He would use up his energy whenever he stored the items into his storage space, and the bigger the item was, the more energy he would have to use up of it.
With the enhanced physiques that he got from the bonus, he wanted to try if he could store the fuel tanks that were underneath the gas station.
Alex placed his hands on the ground, lifted his head at Riley and said, "I’ll just store the fuel tanks underneath into my storage space as usual."
"Are you sure?" Riley asked but while he did so, Alex stood back straight again.
"It’s done, let’s take care of the bodies and get back to the college campus after that." Alex shrugged and said.
"Wait? It’s done? What’s the biggest thing that you can store at one go?" Riley chased after Alex and asked, trying to figure out what was the limit of what he could do.
