Chapter 513: Chapter 245: Tallying the Spoils of War, Qin Hu’s Resolve for Self-Reliance

A Tier Two Awakener’s self-healing and recovery abilities were several times greater than a Tier One Awakener’s. As long as it wasn’t an instantly fatal injury like decapitation or having their heart gouged out, they could be brought back with Organic Nutrient Liquid.

Therefore, the only injured personnel left were Warriors.

This also meant the Tier Two Battle Group, with its 135 members, now outnumbered the 125 Warriors. The number of frontline combatants had surpassed the support staff.

If this continued, the logistical pressure would skyrocket.

Furthermore, supporting over a hundred Tier Two Awakeners—more than half of whom were at the Tier Two Middle-Late Stage—required consuming seven or eight Tier Two Zerg Eggs for their daily meals alone.

Converted into regular food, that was equivalent to three or four tons of pure meat.

The Nutrient Liquid Lin Feng had brought had run out long ago.

Now, they relied entirely on the Incubation Pyramid in the Northwest Main Hive. Every day, Ling Yi would command the Zerg Race to gather nearby Biomass, which was then converted into a highly concentrated nutrient liquid to meet the Salvation Army’s immense needs.

But this wasn’t a long-term solution.

The Zerg Race had nearly stripped the nearby mountains and forests bare.

The harsh environment of the North wouldn’t be able to sustain this for much longer.

They had to solve the immediate problem, and quickly.

While taking out the Tier Three Mid-stage Mother Empress, he needed to cultivate a group of Tier Two Peak Powerhouses. Ideally, he also had to help Qin Hu break through to Tier Three to keep the other Mother Empresses in check.

After all, there were plenty of Mother Empresses in the North. He estimated there were at least ten Zerg Race Mother Empresses inside the Capital City alone, all vying with one another and fighting over the human survivor resources.

But before the Salvation Army could take the offensive, the quality of their weapons and equipment—second only to their own strength—was of the utmost importance.

Only with overwhelming firepower could they suppress the sun-blocking Swarms that swept in from all directions during field operations!

The fifty-five new Battle Group reservists also needed to be outfitted with new Tier Two Orange Weapons and Equipment.

So now, after Liu Yi finished reporting the personnel changes, he followed up with a statistical summary of the spoils of war:

"In this operation, including the spoils from conquering the Nest in Yunxia Ridge this morning, we collected a total of 350 pairs of Tiger Spine Zerg Giant Mandibles, 220 Pulse Tail Cannons, and ten Tank Flame Beetle carapaces..."

"We also collected three to four hundred pairs of the Cyan-winged Zergs’ Membrane Wings."

Hearing the report, Lin Feng’s eyes narrowed. They had all the materials needed to create the Tiger Armor—enough to equip every member of the Salvation Army with Tier Two Orange Armor. At the same time, they could also repair and Upgrade the damaged Tiger Armor worn by the Guard Battle Group.

As for the Tier One Cyan Wing Membrane Wings from the Cyan-winged Zergs, while their Attributes were weaker than those of Tier Two Wind-winged Zergs, they could still allow a suit of Battle Armor to fly at low speed for ten minutes. Covering a distance of twenty to thirty kilometers would be no problem.

They would be incredibly effective and a huge help when facing a massive Swarm or needing to make a tactical retreat.

These could be integrated with the Giant Mandibles to create a low-spec version of the standard Flying Tiger Armor with a basic Flight Mode.

With the Armor problem solved, the next priority was offensive weaponry. For instance, the fifty-five new Tier Two Early Stage reservists needed to be equipped with orange Replicas like Armor-Piercing Cannons and Electromagnetic Cannons.

The 220 Pulse Tail Cannons were enough to manufacture over two hundred powerful Electromagnetic Cannons. When the time came, the powerhouses of the Guard Battle Group, who were at Tier Two Late Stage Perfection, could dual-wield these cannons. Even when facing a surging Swarm of over a hundred thousand, they would be able to handle it with ease.

The only problem now, however, was where to acquire the more than two hundred tons of Fine Steel needed to produce these Replicas.

After listening to the full report, Lin Feng assigned patrol and guard duties, then told everyone to continue resting for the time being.

He then went to the Shelter where the Biological Materials were stored. He integrated the Tiger Spine Zerg Giant Mandibles and Cyan Wing Membrane Wings into the Warriors’ Red Profound Armor, completing their Upgrade. At the same time, he performed a secondary Upgrade on the Guard Battle Group’s Flying Tiger Armor.

After all this was done, Lin Feng received a report from Liu Yi. Qin Hu’s people had already arrived to clean up the battlefield.

Lin Feng went to the northern side of Yunxia Ridge and saw rows of front-loaders and dump trucks rumbling into the valley.

They drove between the main peaks of the mountain range, hauling out the Zerg corpses from within, pile after pile, and carrying them away from Yunxia Ridge.

Standing halfway up the mountain, Lin Feng glanced at the scale of the convoy.

There were hundreds of dump trucks, dozens of front-loaders, and they had even brought in excavators.

A short while later, several military armored vehicles arrived.

Qin Hu approached Lin Feng, accompanied by a dozen or so Tier Two Genetic Warriors.

"Thank you for your generosity, City Lord Lin!"

Qin Hu’s joy was plain to see as he looked out at the tens of thousands of Zerg corpses in the valley, among them the hundreds of enormous Tiger Spine Zerg carcasses.

These Zerg corpses were more than just resources; they would put millions of survivors to work, giving them something to do.

Rather than remaining cooped up in the cramped confines of Beihai Town, living in constant fear as violence ran rampant.

Processing the Zerg corpses required immense manpower. From severing the Giant Mandibles and dissecting the torsos to extracting useful hydrogen-storage sacs and the sharp, four-jointed limbs that could be made into weapons—every step of the process required manual labor.

Lin Feng nodded.

"Don’t mention it. I should be thanking you for cleaning up this graveyard. Otherwise, in the long run, forget the stench and pollution—after a few more Swarm attacks, the corpses would pile up high enough to fill the entire valley to the brim!"

Qin Hu laughed heartily.

"To fill the entire Yunxia Ridge, even a million Zerg corpses wouldn’t be enough. If you could actually kill that many, the entire North would be safe and sound!"

Watching the truckloads of corpses being hauled away, Lin Feng added a reminder:

"There should still be quite a few Samurai Hunter Zergs in there. They’re holding Bone Blade Sabers in their four arms. Make sure to collect them."

"There’s something else. Let’s talk as we walk."

Qin Hu nodded, told his men to stay put, and followed Lin Feng into the dense forest.
