Chapter 436: Chapter 436: Thrilling

The moment Frost Shaw’s hand was flung aside, Roman Rowe noticed several nail marks on his forearm. He was about to make a sarcastic comment, but then he seemed to understand something. A heavy, sour feeling welled up in his chest. ’Never mind,’ he thought. ’Just let it go.’

Seeing him stay silent, Frost Shaw breathed a small sigh of relief. He hurried back to the convenience store to shower and change.

As the warm water streamed over his body, Frost Shaw bent his arm and saw a few small nail marks on the outer side.

He couldn’t help but smile. ’I guess this is a mark Lily left on me...’

As he got dressed, another thought struck him: he definitely wouldn’t be the last man Lily Hart graced with her favor.

’But at least I was the first!’

After changing, Frost Shaw went downstairs to watch the store, but his mind kept drifting further and further away.

Scenes from the previous night flashed through his mind, all of it feeling so surreal.

On the second floor of the lottery shop, Lily Hart woke up again. She rolled over, only then remembering that Frost Shaw was gone.

’It’s been a while since I’ve slept with a man. I really can’t sleep soundly, always afraid I’ll get my head blown off in my sleep.’

...

「At eleven o’clock」, Lily Hart stretched lazily and went downstairs. She had slept wonderfully today.

Her back wasn’t sore anymore, and her legs didn’t ache.

The only problem was the RUMBLING in her stomach. Following a delicious scent, she expertly navigated her way to the kitchen and opened the rice cooker.

Inside was a steaming hot vegetable and lean pork congee.

The greens and pork were both minced finely, simmered with fluffy white rice. It looked as good as it tasted.

’I wonder which kind soul left breakfast for me,’ Lily Hart thought as her stomach GROWLED. She grabbed a bowl and heaped it full.

She then cheerfully carried it out of the kitchen, snuggled into the space between the sofa and the coffee table, and started slurping it down.

The congee was the perfect temperature, not scalding hot, which made it ideal for gulping down in big mouthfuls.

Since Lily Hart was using a spoon, she finished it even faster. The large bowl of congee was gone in no time.

She wanted a second bowl, but since lunch was coming up soon, she figured she’d better save some room.

At eleven-thirty, Roman Rowe came bounding up the stairs, much earlier than usual.

He spotted Lily Hart curled up on the sofa. On the coffee table in front of her was an empty bowl with just a little congee left in it. He couldn’t help but smile knowingly.

Roman Rowe ambled over cheerfully. "Boss Hart, was the congee good? I left it for you."

Lily Hart was browsing her Light Brain. She glanced at him. "It was pretty good, but don’t put so much meat in it next time."

Roman Rowe was shocked. "But you love meat, don’t you?"

"Well, too much of anything can be overwhelming. You could add more greens, though. They cut through the richness," Lily Hart said with a smile.

Roman Rowe was completely stunned. This woman usually loved to wolf down meat. He’d even added extra for her.

And this was the thanks he got!

Roman Rowe put on a pouty "my love was wasted on you" expression, which made Lily Hart laugh again and again.

"Alright, alright, I love meat more than anything, and I love the congee Roman Rowe makes and the dishes Roman Rowe cooks. Is that better?"

Lily Hart cooed, reaching out to pinch his cheek. She gave it a little jiggle, leaving Roman Rowe slightly dazed.

When he came to his senses, he pretended to bite her hand. "RAWR—"

Lily Hart didn’t even try to dodge, and he caught her hand right in his mouth. Roman Rowe: ’I’m so dead! Crap, crap, crap!’

For a moment, they both froze. Roman Rowe was gently biting the fleshy part of her hand between her thumb and index finger.

’It feels like a piece of fragrant meat in my mouth,’ he thought, ’the kind that’s been slow-cooked in spices for forty-nine days.’

Roman Rowe couldn’t resist and gave it a lick. Lily Hart glared at him, but her gaze only made him bolder.

He immediately let go of her hand, pounced on her, and sealed her lips with his.

The instant their lips touched, it was as if a string in his mind snapped with a soft POP.

An electric current seemed to spread from his lips, traveling through his entire body, leaving him weak and tingling all over.

He wasn’t very good at this. Once their lips met, he just froze, thinking only how soft, fragrant, and sweet she was. His hands were braced on the sofa, and he was completely stunned.

Lily Hart sighed. ’I had to teach that one, and now I have to teach this one, too. I didn’t come to the apocalypse to be a teacher!’

’But what can I do? He’s already kissing me. I can’t just push him away.’

’Oh well~’ Lily Hart parted her lips and, drawing on her memories, began to take the lead.

Roman Rowe’s breathing grew heavier, and he unconsciously gripped the sofa cushion. Soon, he grew bolder.

He began to turn the tables, gradually taking the initiative. Seeing this, Lily Hart relinquished control and let him take over.

’Sure enough,’ she thought, ’men are all naturals at this sort of thing.’ Roman Rowe quickly got the hang of it.

He learned what kind of kissing Lily Hart preferred; she seemed to enjoy the gentle back-and-forth on the surface of her lips.

After a long moment, Roman Rowe finally pulled away. Looking at her slightly flushed cheeks, he felt an indescribable joy.

’So happy! AHHHHHHHHHH! I actually kissed Boss Hart!’

’It feels like I’ve accomplished a major life goal! I’m so, so, so excited! AHHHHHHHHH!’

Lily Hart shot him a glare, then took his hand and wiped her mouth with the back of it a couple of times. The guy was all slobber.

"You... need more practice," Lily Hart said seriously, pulling her hand away.

"Then can I practice with you, Boss Hart~?" Roman Rowe held on tight, not letting her pull away, swinging her hand back and forth.

The one thing Lily Hart couldn’t resist was Roman Rowe’s wheedling. She didn’t know why. Maybe it was his golden hair, or the way his smile reminded her of a big Golden Retriever.

Loyal and gentle.

She really couldn’t resist it. If he had a tail, it would probably be wagging like crazy.

"Alright, alright, you can practice with me," Lily Hart agreed, unable to refuse him.

Roman Rowe didn’t want to ask what had happened between her and Frost Shaw. He only cared about what was happening between him and Lily Hart.

"So... can we do it again?" Roman Rowe asked sweetly, as if he were actually going to wait for her answer.

Lily Hart was about to tease him and shake her head, but before she could even move, he was already kissing her again impatiently.

He was in such a flustered hurry that he missed her lips and almost bumped her teeth. "Hss~"

Roman Rowe fumbled to touch her mouth. "Are you okay?" Lily Hart had just started to shake her head.

Taking that as his reassurance, he leaned in for another impatient kiss.

It was like he hadn’t kissed anyone in eight hundred lifetimes. ’My god,’ she thought, but she loved this energy of his.

His eagerness was tinged with inexperience, yet also a hint of forcefulness.

All in all, it was pretty thrilling. Lily Hart lost herself in the moment.

After another long while, a panting Roman Rowe pulled away and stared at her with a pitiful look.

Lily Hart went, "Hm?" Then, as if she understood, her gaze drifted downward, landing on *that* spot.

She couldn’t help but smile. Glancing toward the bathroom, she hinted, "Are you going to go take care of that yourself, or wait for it to calm down on its own?"

Roman Rowe understood perfectly, but right now, he didn’t want to be apart from her for even a minute. "It’s nothing!" he insisted stubbornly.
