Chapter 425: Chapter 425: Downfall

If she refused to come out, would they never be able to kill her?

What’s more, she had a Sanctioner by her side—the natural nemesis of the Mysterious Clan.

But retreating now was out of the question. All pretenses were off!

Just as everyone was locked in a stalemate, Lily Hart finished her little cake.

She brushed the non-existent crumbs from her hands. If Elder Shaw weren’t still in their custody,

’she’d love to just run them all over, one by one. Keeping them around is pointless, anyway.’

’I should taunt them,’ she thought, ’lure them into attacking the RV, and then let it kill them instead.’

’Not a bad idea at all.’

Lily Hart cleared her throat. "Hey, let’s get on with it! What are you all gawking at? Can’t you do it? If you can’t, then scram!"

"I really don’t know what you people from the Mysterious Clan are good for. You never do anything productive, you don’t think about managing your own families, and instead, you just look for trouble. Go home, children!"

Some people can handle being provoked, and some can’t.

The Third Elder of the Shaw family, for instance, was a real firecracker. He stormed forward a few steps and bellowed, "You damn bitch! What do you have besides a lottery shop? What gives you the right to be so arrogant?"

Lily Hart laughed. "I have a lottery shop. What do you have? That dick of yours? What good is it?"

Then she scoffed. "Moron."

The Third Elder of the Shaw family couldn’t take it anymore. Ignoring the Second Elder’s attempt to stop him, he charged forward, unleashing a flurry of punches and kicks.

But all his blows landed on the Protective Shield. To everyone watching, it looked like he was brawling with thin air.

Lily Hart sighed. ’Pathetic.’

"Lily Hart!" A familiar voice called out from the side of the RV.

Her heart skipped a beat. She rushed over to look and saw it was Elder Shaw and the others!

She quickly helped them aboard. Elder Shaw, Logan Holland, Yael Lowell, and Peter Sharp—the four leaders. Not one of them was missing.

Thanks to the shield, no one outside could see what was happening within. They only saw Lily Hart suddenly vanish from view.

Frederick Shaw threw himself into Elder Shaw’s arms, the worry he had suppressed for so long finally bursting forth as he began to sob quietly.

Elder Shaw’s heart ached as he stroked his grandson’s head, comforting him. "Grandpa’s all right..."

Seeing this, Lily Hart pulled Logan Holland and the other two aside. "How did you get back?" she asked.

’It couldn’t have been a change of heart,’ she thought. ’Both sides were just cursing each other out a minute ago.’

Logan Holland whispered, "It was Ash O’Malley. He let us out and even took a detour to make sure no one else saw."

’Ash O’Malley?’

She had an impression of him. He and his brother were like the landlord’s two foolish sons.

’The two of them were a breath of fresh air in the Mysterious Clan. Is the O’Malley Family trying to make a friendly gesture?’

’Or is it just the two of them?’

Logan Holland continued, "Ash O’Malley said the O’Malley Family doesn’t want to be enemies with Boss Hart, and that they were just following the crowd this time."

’Hmph. We’ll see if they were just "following the crowd" or not,’ she thought. ’But I can spare them in the hunt that’s about to start.’

Lily Hart asked, "What about the others?"

Logan Holland replied, "They weren’t held with the four of us, but Ash O’Malley said he’d get them to a safe place as soon as possible."

"Alright. As long as they’re safe. You all stay here and rest. Leave the rest to me."

She remembered that she had exchanged contact information with Ash O’Malley before. She stood up and glanced outside.

Ash O’Malley was indeed not in the crowd, so she gave him a call.

It took a moment for the call to connect, and his slightly breathless voice came through. "Boss Hart, I’m moving the hostages now. If you’re worried, you can name a location."

Lily Hart thought for a moment. "The high-speed rail station outside Central Command."

’That’s my turf,’ she thought. ’It’s safer there.’

"Got it. But please, spare the O’Malley Family," Ash O’Malley said earnestly.

"I’ll think about it," Lily Hart said before hanging up.

She cracked her knuckles and flexed her wrists. "And now, the hunt begins."

The Great Elder of the White Family was still attacking the Protective Shield, but he had learned his lesson and wasn’t using any of his ultimate attacks, lest he be unable to dodge the blowback.

The Third Elder of the Shaw family was doing the same foolish thing. As members of the Mysterious Clan, they possessed an innate self-confidence.

They believed they were the greatest people on earth and that Lily Hart was just some lowlife.

’Her superpower is the only thing that’s impressive,’ they thought. ’Once we take it from her, we’ll see how arrogant she can be!’

CRASH—

Lily Hart started the RV without any warning. The first to suffer were the Great Elder of the White Family and the Third Elder of the Shaw family.

They were sent flying instantly.

But the cruelest part was that their bodies were so tough, they wouldn’t die from just a few impacts.

Yet they couldn’t escape, so they were rammed and run over, again and again.

What followed was Lily Hart’s solo performance. She drove the RV around like she was playing a game of demolition derby, ramming into everything.

When that wasn’t thrilling enough, she took to the air, chasing them down and smashing into them, ignoring all obstacles.

The smart ones had already fled. The foolish ones thought they could withstand the assault.

Half an hour later, the members of the Mysterious Clan were either dead or grievously wounded.

Lily Hart felt no guilt. They were the ones who had repeatedly attacked her, repeatedly caused trouble, and repeatedly disrespected her.

All they cared about was stealing her superpower and profiting at her expense.

They got what they deserved.

Lily Hart didn’t concern herself with the dead. As for the wounded, she ordered Frost Shaw and the others to tie them up.

Then she ran them over again.

’Leave any survivors? Not a chance!’

As for those who had escaped, she wouldn’t pursue them for now. But if they continued to push their luck, she wouldn’t be so courteous next time.

Simon Keane witnessed the entire event without saying a word, his heart filled with a boundless sense of catharsis.

He hated the Mysterious Clan more than anyone else, wishing he could have killed them with his own hands.

But as a Sanctioner, he had to follow the rules. Now, finally, their comeuppance had arrived.

’Jean, did you see that? They got what they deserved...’

Jean was his daughter. Because he had sanctioned a direct bloodline of the Mysterious Clan,

she had been captured by their men and tortured to death. They had only been separated for a single short hour before they took her...

Lily Hart didn’t stop until not a single living soul remained around the castle.

Her eyes were bloodshot, and her hands on the steering wheel were trembling.

Lily Hart took a moment to compose herself, blinking a few times. She stood up and chugged a glass of water, and the heat coursing through her body gradually subsided.

The thrill of the kill just now had almost consumed her.

’These were all evil people. They got what they deserved. I was serving justice, justice for all the survivors in Cathaya.’

’They all deserved to die!’

After drilling this into her own head a few times, Lily Hart felt a little better. Otherwise, she felt like she was becoming a cold-blooded demon who killed without a second thought.

A momentary silence fell inside the RV. Roman Rowe glanced around.

Trying to lighten the mood, he said, "Well, that’s that. No more Mysterious Clan to stir up trouble!"

Simon Keane threw cold water on his enthusiasm. "These were only the direct bloodlines of the Mysterious Clan. There are still many branch families, but they’re nothing to worry about. They won’t be able to amount to much."

Roman Rowe’s smile vanished when he heard the first part, only to reappear when he heard the second.

Elder Shaw added, "Without the Mysterious Clan getting in the way, many things will proceed much more smoothly."

Logan Holland agreed. "Right. At the very least, we can promote the online supermarket and unify the Base Commanders much more quickly."

"Exactly," Yael Lowell said bitterly. "Some Base Commanders kept refusing to let the online supermarket into their bases, and it was all because the Mysterious Clan was pulling the strings from behind the scenes."

Who in their right mind would refuse the online supermarket? Are they idiots?
