Chapter 424: Invincible
Chapter 424: Chapter 424: Invincible
The Fifth Elder of the Rivers Family said, "Forget about the Sanctioner. Killing Lily Hart and taking her superpower is what matters now."
Although the Great Elder of the White Family couldn’t stand the Rivers Family, he agreed.
If they allowed Lily Hart to keep getting stronger, the Mysterious Clan’s room for survival would only shrink.
Grand Elder O’Malley said, "The Sanctioner isn’t here anyway. What are you hesitating for? Let’s just kill her!"
As he spoke, everyone’s expressions hardened. In a situation like this, it was either Lily Hart’s death or theirs.
They had to act now!
Lily Hart saw how merrily they were discussing things, completely disregarding her and even looking down on the Sanctioner.
She couldn’t help but turn and mock Simon Keane. "What kind of Sanctioner are you, anyway?"
Simon Keane shrugged. "I’ve been out of the game for too long. It’s only normal to be forgotten."
He took two steps forward, walking out from behind the RV’s protective field and brazenly revealing himself to the Mysterious Clan.
He knew there was another Protective Shield outside—one they couldn’t possibly break through—so he acted with complete arrogance.
"Hey! All you lot from the White, Rivers, O’Malley, and Shaw Families, look over here! Your granddaddy is here!" Simon Keane declared cockily.
They all whipped their heads around in unison, their gazes landing on the scruffy, disheveled old man.
The Third Elder of the Shaw family had a short fuse and was quick to explode. "Who the hell are you!"
"The Sanctioner," Simon Keane said slowly. "I suggest you hand over Quincy Shaw now. If you do, I might just let you off the hook."
The Third Elder of the Shaw family sneered. "Just because you say you’re the Sanctioner, that makes you the Sanctioner?"
The Fifth Elder of the O’Malley family, sitting in his wheelchair, gripped the armrests tightly. His eyes filled with terror, and his body began to tremble uncontrollably.
"Fifth Brother?" the Fourth Elder of the O’Malley family asked with concern, grabbing his wrist. "What’s wrong?"
"He... He really is the Sanctioner!" The Fifth Elder of the O’Malley family’s voice quaked, dominated by a fear that came from the very depths of his soul.
Hearing this, Grand Elder O’Malley’s expression changed. ’The Sanctioner was the one who crippled his brother’s legs!’
’He’d used some unknown secret technique, and even the clinics under Lily Hart’s banner couldn’t heal them!’
The Fifth Elder of the O’Malley family’s voice wasn’t loud, but it was enough for everyone nearby to hear.
The older members of the group all showed expressions of shock or fear; they had clearly witnessed the Sanctioner’s might before.
The younger generation, however, wasn’t nearly as affected. Their knowledge of the Sanctioner came entirely from the stories passed down by their elders.
They had never truly witnessed his power for themselves.
The moment the title "Sanctioner" was spoken, some people already started to have second thoughts.
The Fifth Elder of the O’Malley family spun his wheelchair around and retreated rapidly. "First Brother, Fourth Brother, let’s go! Our family isn’t getting involved in this!"
Frank O’Malley and Ash O’Malley were already preparing to retreat. The Fourth Elder wanted to leave too, but the Grand Elder stopped him.
Grand Elder O’Malley barked, "Go where? You’re all spineless! Even if not for this, it’s a perfect chance to avenge your Fifth Brother!"
It wasn’t just the O’Malley Family thinking of retreat; the Shaw Family was too. Their family was already small. If they were to be sanctioned again, their entire line would likely be extinguished.
The Great Elder of the White Family was exasperated by their cowardice. "He’s just one man! There are so many of us! Are you really afraid we can’t beat him?!"
A member of the Rivers Family chimed in, "At the end of the day, the Sanctioner is just an ordinary person! We’ve cultivated so many superpower users; it’s time to put them to use!"
Simon Keane scratched his ear. "So it looks like you don’t plan on handing over Quincy Shaw, and you’re not giving up on this little operation?"
The Great Elder of the White Family met Simon Keane’s lazy gaze and felt an inexplicable sense of dread in his heart.
It was a suppression that came from his very bloodline.
The elder from the Rivers Family was assembling their Powers Squad. They had brought eighty percent of their forces to this old site.
Within moments, several hundred superpower users appeared behind the members of the Mysterious Clan.
Frost Shaw gave them a quick scan. They were all Fifth Rank or higher.
The Mysterious Clan probably wanted a swift and decisive battle, lest their own panic grew.
A battle was about to erupt.
The Powers Squad completely surrounded the RV and began to attack in unison.
The scene was dazzling. Superpowers of every color and form mixed together, looking like a fireworks display.
The members of the Mysterious Clan watched from the sidelines, afraid to act themselves for fear of being accused of murder and getting sanctioned.
They had discussed it before and concluded that the RV’s Protective Shield couldn’t be invincible. It either had a time limit or a damage threshold.
As long as they attacked for long enough and dealt enough damage, they were bound to succeed.
Against so many attacks, a Level 5 RV would likely have shown a weakness, and Lily Hart probably wouldn’t have been able to hold out.
But things were different now. The Level 6 RV ignored time limits, ignored damage, and was completely independent of Lily Hart’s condition.
It was, in a word:
Invincible!
The RV devoured every single attack, not sustaining even a scratch of damage.
Not only that, but after being devoured, the attacks were spat right back out, returned to their senders with pinpoint accuracy.
Not only did the superpower users fail to damage the RV, but they were also attacked by it. Every few moments, another group of them would fall dead.
The seconds ticked by, and the Fifth Elder of the O’Malley family had already wheeled himself back several dozen meters.
The RV remained completely unscathed.
Eventually, even the superpower users who had been attacking continuously grew tired, their internal energy completely depleted.
Lily Hart sighed, took a sip of the milk tea in her left hand, and ate a bite of the small cake Frost Shaw offered her from her right.
She taunted, "Is that all you’ve got?"
The Great Elder of the White Family was in disbelief. ’Can something truly invincible exist in this world?’
’How is that possible? If anyone should be invincible, it ought to be the Mysterious Clan!’
"Forget it, we’ll go ourselves! These guys are useless!" The Great Elder of the White Family declared with a wave of his hand.
He charged forward and launched a tentative strike, but it was like punching cotton—it vanished in an instant.
There was no feeling of impact, no sense of satisfaction.
Not even the slightest feedback. It was like a stone sinking into the sea.
But a second later, the feedback came. The attack he had just launched was spat back out, hurtling toward him at an incredible speed.
The Great Elder of the White Family’s pupils contracted. He tapped his toes on the ground and instinctively shot into the air to dodge.
BANG—
He slowly turned and saw that a deep crater had been blasted into the ground not far away.
’If that attack had hit me, I’d probably be crippled,’ he thought. ’But why won’t it hit Lily Hart?’
’I don’t get it. Does this RV really have no weaknesses?’
’I don’t believe it!’
He was about to launch several more attacks when he looked back and saw that there was no one behind him.
The Great Elder of the White Family roared, "What are you all standing around for? Get over here!"
No one dared to respond.
The Fourth Elder of the O’Malley family, however, had seen things clearly. ’This Lily Hart is completely unassailable. So what if we’re from the Mysterious Clan?’
’Aren’t we still completely at her mercy? Why would we go over there? To get ourselves killed?’
’If she wanted to deal with us, she wouldn’t even need to rely on the Sanctioner.’
’But unfortunately, First Brother can’t see that. He’s still dead set on taking down Lily Hart.’
His eyes darted about for a moment before he quietly approached Ash O’Malley.
He whispered a few words in his ear, and Ash O’Malley used the chaos as cover to slip away unnoticed.
The Great Elder of the White Family was now in a bind. He grew worried, no longer having any idea how to deal with Lily Hart.
