Chapter 423: Just Ram Them
Chapter 423: Chapter 423: Just Ram Them
They even scaled the castle’s outer walls, a testament to their tenacious vitality.
"Just go straight in?" Lily Hart asked cautiously.
"No. If we go straight in, the traps will kill us. Everyone, stay close to me," Simon Keane said slowly.
He held the wooden token in his hand, watching as the others drew nearer and nearer.
Soon, wisps of ethereal green gas emerged from the wooden token, drifting around each person.
"Guardian Spirit," Simon Keane stated curtly, stepping forward.
The group formed a tight, protective circle around Simon Keane, moving forward as a single, clumsy unit.
As they stepped onto the castle grounds, Lily Hart clearly heard a CLICK, like some kind of trap being sprung.
But nothing happened.
She knew then that Simon Keane’s wooden token was working.
’I can’t believe the old man who won the grand prize back then is actually this useful now.’
’And to think he’s a Sanctioner.’
The group crossed a courtyard choked with weeds and tangled vines, arriving at the castle’s main entrance.
Suddenly, the heavy doors swung open from within.
Standing in the doorway were a few people she’d expected to see—including Cheryl Rivers.
Beside her stood a distinguished-looking man dressed in a fine suit. You’d think he was here for a dinner party.
Behind Cheryl Rivers stood two more men, older and with solemn expressions.
’Elders and clansmen from the Rivers Family?’ Lily Hart guessed.
Lily Hart quietly asked Simon Keane, "Is this the old Rivers Family estate?"
Simon Keane nodded, his gaze fixed icily on one of the elders. His fingers twitched, and his grip tightened on his cloth pouch.
Cheryl Rivers strode out gracefully. After a period of rest and treatment, she had fully recovered her former appearance.
In truth, one of the elders had secretly taken her to the nearest Lily Hart-brand clinic for treatment.
At the time, she’d refused to go, dead set against it, sneering that nothing associated with Lily Hart could be any good. She ended up eating her words.
But this did nothing to lessen Cheryl Rivers’ bone-deep hatred for Lily Hart.
’How dare she humiliate me like that in front of so many people! I’ve never been so wronged in my entire life!’
Cheryl Rivers scoffed. "Looking for Quincy Shaw? Give up. He’s nothing but a pile of bones by now."
Lily Hart’s anger flared at her words. She clenched her fists and mentally summoned her RV.
In an instant, an RV the height of a three-story building materialized before them.
Compared to the magnificent castle, the RV’s presence was somehow even more imposing.
Its two headlights burned like a pair of piercing eyes, staring down the enemy before them.
Cheryl Rivers’s heart seized. The sight of the RV filled her with a strange dread.
The memory of being rammed nearly to death surfaced uncontrollably in her mind.
Lily Hart turned back to ask Old Man Keaton, "They can’t kill humans, but it’s okay if a human kills them, right?"
Simon Keane replied, "It’s fine. But an ordinary person could never kill them."
Lily Hart was relieved. ’Good,’ she thought. ’I’m no ordinary person.’
Ever since arriving in this area, she’d felt on edge.
’The Mysterious Clan already has access to parallel dimensions, so why aren’t they satisfied? Why are they always looking for trouble?’
’Damn it all. Time to teach you a lesson!’
Lily Hart herded everyone into the RV. The kids were already inside, waiting quietly.
Seeing her get into the driver’s seat, Cheryl Rivers panicked. "What do you think you’re doing?! This is an old site of the Mysterious Clan! This is not a place for you to run wild!"
The Third Elder at her side frowned. "Insolent! How dare you show such disrespect at this old site!"
The distinguished man spoke up. "Don’t you want Quincy Shaw back? We have a few conditions. If you agree..."
Before he could finish, Lily Hart stomped on the accelerator, and the RV shot forward.
The sudden acceleration was so violent that everyone inside, still getting their balance, was thrown into disarray.
’They still dare to negotiate? "Disrespect at the old site"? Like I give a damn!’
The RV launched forward like a cannonball, catching everyone completely by surprise.
BOOM! The RV slammed into the castle, followed by a series of crashes as stone gave way.
It plowed straight through the main entrance and out the back, leaving the RV completely unscathed but the castle in ruins.
It was utterly demolished.
The Fifth Elder had sensed something was wrong the moment Lily Hart climbed into the vehicle and had been on high alert.
Even so, he hadn’t anticipated Lily Hart’s sheer unpredictability. He only had time to grab the nearest person, the Third Elder, and pull him to safety.
Cheryl Rivers and the distinguished man were buried completely under the rubble.
After smashing its way out, Lily Hart whipped the RV around and charged right back in.
The pair had just managed to crawl out from a pile of rubble, covered in dust and grime, their earlier elegance completely gone.
Cheryl Rivers screamed, "You damned—"
Before she could finish, her entire body froze solid. With a sharp CRACK, she shattered into a million pieces of ice.
"Cheryl! Cheryl—how?!" the man stared in disbelief.
’They’re just ordinary humans, how could Cheryl be dead? It’s impossible! They can’t kill a member of the Mysterious Clan!’
Grief surged through him as he watched his own sister shatter into a thousand pieces before his very eyes.
He instinctively gathered his internal energy and, with a single wave of his hand, blasted the pile of rubble away.
"Lily Hart! I’ll kill you!" Blinded by rage, he charged toward the RV.
The Third Elder, startled, lunged forward to stop him. He tackled the man in a desperate hug. "Have you lost your mind?! You’ll be sanctioned!"
The man’s name was Levi Rivers. He struggled furiously, roaring at the Third Elder, "I’ll make her pay for this in blood!"
Lily Hart gave a cold laugh, floored the accelerator, and rammed straight into them without a second thought, sending them flying.
The two men smashed through the surrounding wall, their flight finally halted by a thick curtain of vines.
The Fifth Elder, with no time to even curse Lily Hart, scrambled to find the two men.
Lily Hart, of course, had no intention of getting out to check for casualties. She wanted to ram them again. Damn it, she was seeing red.
What could she say? She had a short fuse. The slightest provocation and she’d blow.
Seeing the RV revving to charge again, the Fifth Elder yelled desperately, "I know where Quincy Shaw is!"
SCREECH—! The RV screeched to a halt just inches from the Fifth Elder’s face.
The Fifth Elder breathed a sigh of relief. As tough as the bodies of the Mysterious Clan were, they couldn’t take repeated rammings like that.
"Five minutes," Lily Hart’s voice came from the RV. "Bring them here."
The Fifth Elder agreed at once. Without even glancing at the Third Elder and Levi Rivers, he scrambled away.
The two men weren’t in any mortal danger, but their bodies ached all over from the impact.
They sat slumped on the ground, still unable to comprehend how a mere mortal could have possibly harmed them.
Inside the RV, Frost Shaw silently withdrew his hand. After all, he had once been a member of the Mysterious Clan himself.
He was no "ordinary person."
Lily Hart started a timer on her display, waiting for the Fifth Elder to return. ’It would’ve been so much easier if they’d just done this from the start,’ she thought. ’Did a life really have to be lost first?’
Less than five minutes later, a jumble of footsteps approached, and Lily Hart looked up.
She didn’t see Elder Shaw or Logan Holland in the crowd. Instead, she saw the O’Malley brothers, Ash and Frank.
And a whole crowd of strangers. Lily Hart’s eyes narrowed. ’So he didn’t go for Elder Shaw,’ she realized. ’He went for reinforcements.’
"Well, well," Lily Hart chuckled, her patience finally hitting its limit.
