Chapter 416: Chapter 416: Cloud-Drift Base

She scrolled down the list. Sheesh, none of them were even as good as her. She had a 70% completion rate, at least. ’Okay, I’m not looking anymore. Not looking.’

Not only could you see the rankings, but you could also see who was online and who was offline.

’These people... They have so much energy. Don’t they need to sleep? They’re all online, still catching geese? I guess this is the one advantage superpower users have over ordinary people.’

’Endless stamina.’

’But still, they can’t just go wild like this, can they? If they put this much effort into their work, they’d be successful at anything.’

So, she DMed them one by one. ’No more catching big geese. All of you, go to sleep!’

With the messages sent.

Lily Hart wanted to play another round just to scratch the itch, but her eyelids were growing heavy. She had no choice but to listen to her body, turn off her Light Brain, pull the covers over her head, and sleep!

The next morning, Lily Hart woke up and instinctively opened her Light Brain. Her hand, seemingly with a mind of its own, tapped into "Catch the Big Goose."

She took another look at the leaderboard. Whoa, a total reshuffle. She had dropped from third place all the way to seventh. ’Don’t tell me these people pulled an all-nighter catching geese?’

Wow. They’d let her words go in one ear and out the other!

Lily Hart was angry for a moment, but what really irritated her was her own drop in the rankings.

’These people are way too competitive!’

Lily Hart got out of bed to wash up, not forgetting to bring her Light Brain with her. She played "Catch the Big Goose" while she did, but as she played, she realized this was getting out of hand. ’I’m completely hooked by this game.’

’It’s just as I feared.’

’Most people have no self-control.’ It was time to be decisive. She immediately quit the game, finished washing up, and went downstairs for breakfast.

While eating breakfast, she gazed into the distance. This was another new base, a new city.

The last city was called Silvorna, and it had four official bases: Kenseng Base, Celestial Citrus Base, Harshwind Base, and Silverwing Base.

The supporting infrastructure was already in place, with automatic lottery machines, vending machines, clinics, and high-speed rail stations—all indispensable.

Entertainment, food, healthcare, transportation—they had it all. It was fantastic!

This city was called Cheswick City. It had a gentle ring to it. The base before her was called Cloud-Drift Base.

She didn’t know why it was given that name, but the clouds in the sky really were beautiful just then—great, puffy clusters with the sun shining down on them, all set against the backdrop of towering mountains in the distance.

It was stunningly beautiful.

Lily Hart slowly finished her breakfast while admiring the beautiful scenery. As people started to come upstairs one by one, she propped her head on her hand and watched.

The first was Roman Rowe. His Light Brain hovered in the air as his hands tapped away at the screen. His eyes held no desire for food, only a desperate longing for the big geese.

Lily Hart cleared her throat and stood up, positioning herself directly in his path.

But Roman Rowe didn’t notice in the slightest. He continued walking forward in a daze and nearly bumped into her. "Hey!" Lily Hart snapped. "Are your eyes glued to the top of your head or something?"

Roman Rowe chuckled. "I was catching big geese. Didn’t see you, Boss Hart!" He casually switched off his Light Brain and reached out to steady her, as if she were about to topple over.

Lily Hart reached out and flicked him on the forehead. "Were you catching geese all night?"

Hearing this, Roman Rowe lowered his head guiltily. "No, of course not. I just stayed up an hour or two later than usual. But I’m already at ninety-five percent completion!"

"Oh, wow. So impressive," Lily Hart said with a deadpan expression, her praise dripping with sarcasm.

Roman Rowe grew even more sheepish and quickly changed the subject. "Look, I’ll stop playing. What’s so great about this stupid game, anyway? It’s a total waste of time! Hey, what do you want for breakfast? I’ll make it for you!"

"Thanks, but I’ve already eaten," Lily Hart said coldly, turning to walk away.

Roman Rowe hurried after her, grabbing her hand and shaking it gently as he apologized. "Hey, I really won’t play it anymore! I swear!"

Lily Hart let out another cold laugh, then suddenly thought that Roman Rowe looked just like a boyfriend who’d been caught playing video games all night and was now trying to grovel his way out of trouble.

She couldn’t maintain her cold facade any longer and burst out laughing.

"Alright, alright. Just play less. It’s bad for your eyes, and it’s not good for your brain, either. Be careful, or you’ll play until you rot your brain."

Roman Rowe nodded earnestly, looking as though he’d taken the lesson to heart. Then his eyes shifted, and he noticed her empty bowl on the table. "What did you have to eat?" he asked curiously.

"Just heated up a steamed bun," Lily Hart said.

She wasn’t someone who enjoyed cooking. To put it simply, she was a bit lazy.

"Well, how about I make you a bowl of noodles? The kind with a fried egg, meatballs, and some greens," Roman Rowe offered eagerly.

"Okay. I’ll be waiting," Lily Hart said, sitting down obediently on the sofa. She propped her chin on her hand and watched him bustling about in the kitchen. ’He looks pretty handsome from the back, wearing that apron.’

Soon, a bowl of noodles piled high with toppings was placed in front of Lily Hart. She felt like she was about to pass out from the delicious aroma. Just as she was about to dig in...

...she looked over at Roman Rowe. "Where’s yours?" He grinned and ran back to the kitchen, emerging with a bowl—no, a massive basin—of noodles. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

It had double the toppings of her bowl and looked... immense.

Lily Hart didn’t doubt for a second that he could finish it all. He must have known his own appetite when he cooked that much.

When his basin was placed next to her bowl, the contrast was stark, making her own portion look quite delicate by comparison.

The two started eating at the same time. As they ate, Frost Shaw and the others came upstairs. The first thing they saw was the pair eating intently, their heads practically buried in their bowls.

Roman Rowe hadn’t even had time to take off his apron.

Frost Shaw and the others filed past them toward the kitchen, but Lily Hart and Roman Rowe didn’t even turn their heads. Perhaps they’d noticed, perhaps they hadn’t.

"Ah... I’m so stuffed..." Lily Hart hadn’t left a single drop of broth and patted her stomach in satisfaction.

"Ah... I’m so stuffed..." Roman Rowe chimed in right beside her. He set down his basin, also empty to the last drop, and instinctively copied her, patting his own stomach.

A row of people sat opposite them, with a wide variety of breakfasts spread out on the table.

There were dumplings, noodles, rice vermicelli, steamed rice rolls, and congee—basically a bit of everything. ’Everyone’s tastes are certainly different,’ Lily Hart mused.

In the past, they would have been grateful just to have something to eat, no matter what it was. But not anymore. No, Boss Hart had spoiled their palates!

After breakfast, everyone cleaned up their own dishes without being told and prepared to head back to their shops to work.

Before they could leave, Lily Hart stopped them, warning each one individually. "No more getting addicted to ’Catch the Big Goose.’ If I see anyone spending more than an hour a day on it, well... you’ll see!"

They all quickly promised that they wouldn’t get addicted again.

Lily Hart met each of their gazes. Deciding they seemed sincere enough, she let them go.

After watching them leave, Lily Hart curled up on the sofa, enjoying the momentary peace and quiet.

She didn’t play on her Light Brain or think about anything in particular. She was just zoning out. After a little while, she vaguely heard Diana Sharp calling her name.

She slowly opened her eyes and looked over. She knew what it was. ’Another first-prize shop!’ She hopped out of the RV, her interest piqued.

Her eyes immediately met those of the shop owner.

She raised her hand and gave him a little wave. "Hi! Come on over!"

The shop owner squeezed his way out of the crowd. At first glance, Lily Hart noticed he was rather handsome, and dressed like a trendsetter. ’Hmm,’ she thought, ’could his shop be fashion-related?’
