Chapter 404: Come Over and Sit
Chapter 404: Chapter 404: Come Over and Sit
Wow, he actually made a decent point. But Lily Hart wasn’t having it.
’When it comes to kissing, how can I let someone else get the upper hand? That’s just not right!’
"Who told you silence means consent? You need to fix that attitude of yours, you know?" Lily Hart scooted back a tiny bit, crossed her legs, and folded her arms across her chest.
Perfectly at ease.
Owen Warren’s Adam’s apple bobbed. "Got it. So... can I now?"
Lily Hart gave a slight nod, and before she could even finish it, he pounced impatiently, grabbing her waist and neck just like some domineering male lead from a novel.
He kissed her with a desperate impatience, as if he’d never kissed anyone before in his life. It felt like he was stealing all the air from her lungs; Lily Hart could barely breathe.
As they kissed, Lily Hart somehow found herself sitting on Owen Warren’s lap. His whole body went rigid. He broke the kiss, one hand supporting the back of her head and the other wrapped around her waist.
He pressed his forehead against hers, panting softly, his hot breath washing over Lily Hart’s face.
The atmosphere was incredibly intimate, yet Lily Hart found herself thinking, ’Good thing he doesn’t have bad breath. He just ate fruit, so his mouth tastes like fresh watermelon.’
"Had enough yet?" Lily Hart asked.
Owen Warren tilted his head slightly and kissed her again. ’Had enough? How could he ever have enough?’
His hand on her waist felt scorching hot, a heat she could feel right through her clothes, but he never made any further advances.
One kiss melted into another. His panting filled her ears, along with the intimate sounds of their lips and tongues moving together. The music in the room played on, but it couldn’t drown out the frantic THUMP-THUMP of their racing hearts as they kissed.
Lily Hart pushed him, only then realizing she was in his embrace. "You..."
’Wait, what’s that poking me?’ The thought had barely crossed her mind before Lily Hart started laughing. She knew exactly what it was but decided not to say anything.
Owen Warren held her tightly, his thumb rubbing back and forth over her waist.
The rubbing tickled, and Lily Hart instinctively squirmed, shifting her weight on his lap.
But Owen Warren gripped her waist, holding her still. His voice was hoarse. "Don’t move..."
Anyone else might have frozen, but Lily Hart had a rebellious streak. If you told her not to do something, she’d do it just to spite you.
The moment Owen Warren spoke, she started wiggling nonstop, deliberately brushing against *it* every now and then. He was struggling to keep the color of his eyes from changing.
Finally, unable to take it anymore, he kissed her again. The force of it made Lily Hart’s arms and legs go weak.
Her hands rested limply against his chest. Seizing a moment when they broke for air, she whispered, "Okay, okay, let’s take a break."
Owen Warren’s kissing style was completely different from Frost Shaw’s.
Owen’s was like a torrential downpour—a sudden, violent storm, urgent and fierce, as if trying to pull her down into the depths of the ocean with him.
Frost’s was gentle, like a tender spring rain that seeps into your soul, lingering and slowly winning you over.
Lily Hart could only say she liked them both.
’After all, you get tired of eating the same dish for too long. It’s nice to switch up the flavors once in a while.’
Owen Warren gripped her slender waist with both hands, lifted her straight off his lap, and set her down on the sofa next to him.
Lily Hart: ?
Then, Owen Warren got up and strode toward the restroom.
’Is he going to... cool off? Do zombies even need to cool off?’
Lily Hart couldn’t help but laugh. She helped herself to some fruit, pressing the back of her hand to her cheek. It was still quite warm.
After a while, Owen Warren emerged from the restroom, acting as if nothing had happened.
But the moment he saw her, the reaction he had just managed to suppress surged back up. Owen Warren froze.
He hesitated, wondering if he needed another trip to the restroom, when he heard Lily Hart call out, "Come sit over here."
In a daze, Owen Warren wondered if he’d heard her right. ’Come *do* it?’ he thought. ’*Do* what?’
’The thing... that people in love do?’
Then he saw her pat the empty space beside her. ’Oh, she meant *sit*.’
Owen Warren couldn’t believe himself. He walked over and sat down. But as soon as he was sitting so close to her...
’I can smell her sweet scent... I just want to grab her and kiss her senseless. What do I do?’
’Screw it, if you want something, just do it! Fortune favors the bold!’
Owen Warren threw an arm around her shoulder and pulled her to face him, but he decided that angle wasn’t quite right for a proper kiss.
So, he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her onto his lap to sit facing him.
Lily Hart: ’What in the world...?’ Before she could get the question out, she was yanked into another ferocious, stormy kiss.
’This position is actually pretty comfortable for kissing,’ she thought. She didn’t have to put in any effort at all; just sit on his lap and drape her arms around his shoulders.
When the kiss ended, both of them felt inexplicably shy. They each tried to bury their face in the other’s shoulder, only to bump heads instead.
"You."
Owen Warren laughed and began to rub her forehead. And as he rubbed, he couldn’t stop himself from leaning in for another kiss.
’My lips are going to swell up,’ Lily Hart thought. ’This can’t keep going. Anyone watching would think I’m completely infatuated with him.’
So Lily Hart tried to push him away. Of course, she failed. He was just getting into it.
Hmph.
Lily Hart scoffed inwardly and bit his lower lip.
Owen Warren paused for a second, then, thinking this was some new and exciting form of foreplay, kissed her with even more vigor. Lily Hart nearly suffocated.
’Wait, is this how he’s supposed to react?’
Lily Hart was so thoroughly kissed that she was getting light-headed from lack of oxygen. Her mind grew fuzzy, and eventually, she just decided to go with the flow.
She couldn’t help but marvel, ’Zombies have incredible lung capacity. He doesn’t seem the least bit out of breath.’
When he finally released her, Lily Hart glanced at the time and cried, "Stop, stop, stop! No more kissing! Are you getting addicted or something?!"
Owen Warren nodded in agreement. ’It really is addictive,’ he thought. He reached out and brushed his thumb over her slightly swollen lips.
He felt a secret thrill of satisfaction.
’Heh, I did that. I’m awesome~’
Lily Hart stood up, ready to head back to the lottery shop. For the time being, she didn’t want to see Owen Warren again.
’She was afraid that if she stayed, he wouldn’t be able to resist pouncing on her for another make-out session. Who could handle that?’
Owen Warren grabbed her hand, looking up at her with a pitiful expression. The room was dim, and in the low light, his scarlet irises seemed to flicker in and out of sight.
Her heart softened. She leaned down to give him a quick kiss, but he immediately took control, deepening it.
She patted his shoulder, and this time, Owen Warren got the hint. He obediently released her. "Okay, you can go back now."
’Huh? That’s a first.’
Lily Hart pinched his cheek. "Alright, I’m heading out."
Owen Warren stood up to walk her out. He pinned her against the door for one last round of kisses before reluctantly escorting her out of the bathhouse.
He watched to make sure she went into the lottery shop, and not some other random place, before he finally relaxed.
When Lily Hart got back to the lottery shop, her heart was still fluttering strangely. She had to sit on the sofa for a while to compose herself.
It was well past lunchtime; everyone else had already eaten and left.
’Did we really kiss for that long?’ she wondered. ’It’s unbelievable. Time really does fly when you’re having fun.’
Lily Hart covered her face with her hands. She felt like this was all so wrong, but at the same time, a part of her really enjoyed it.
’Heh. Women.’
She poured herself a glass of water. Just as she finished drinking it, Frost Shaw came upstairs, his face dark.
Lily Hart’s heart skipped a beat. For some reason, she felt the guilt of someone being caught cheating. ’What’s happening? I shouldn’t be feeling this way, right?’
’There’s nothing wrong with me having a guy on each arm, is there? So what do I have to feel guilty about?’
That’s right! What was there to be guilty about? At that thought, Lily Hart straightened her spine and coolly sized him up.
