They definitely had to go. If it was really Five-Grain Rice, then they had to bring it back to Caelus, no matter what.

Afterward, Moira Lynch spent two hours sorting all the Crystal Cores by their Attributes—both the ones Mark Rhodes had sent over and those Kai York and Hugh Finch had collected over the past few days.

The four of them took the Crystal Cores they could each absorb. Some of the remainder were set aside as fertilizer to save the withering mutated plants.

The oversized plants also needed their branches trimmed for easier storage.

All told, finishing everything took several more hours.

Over the next few days, Moira Lynch was busier than ever, practically running in circles. She had to craft weapons and also open up a Subspace, stabilizing it to prevent it from collapsing or disappearing. On top of that, she still had to find time to create Awakening Potions and Purification Potions, purify the Crystal Cores that were delivered, and treat patients.

After two days of this, Moira Lynch felt the light drain from her eyes.

But she had brought all this on herself. She couldn’t blame anyone.

Compared to the insolence of Dawnlight Base, the Western Base and Mark Rhodes treated them with the utmost respect.

Mark Rhodes seemed to have anticipated they would come along, so he had already prepared supplies for them well in advance.

"The people from Dawnlight Base found out you were here and are planning to send people over to demand we hand you over. My father knows you don’t like trouble, so he had me take you out to lay low for a bit. You can leave the rest to him."

Dawnlight Base was a major power, after all, filled with countless Superpower Users. If they didn’t handle this relationship carefully, they would have to worry about being backstabbed by their own allies when fighting zombies in the future.

Therefore, Mark Rhodes’s father planned to placate Dawnlight Base for now. Once the Awakening Potions and Purification Potions were successfully developed, Dawnlight Base would no longer be a concern.

"By the way, how many days will we be gone for this mission?" Moira Lynch asked.

Mark Rhodes thought for a moment before replying, "The forest is a day’s journey away. If we’re quick, we can be back in seven or eight days. If we’re slow, it might take half a month or even a full month. Why, are you pressed for time?"

"It’s not that we’re in a hurry," Kai York explained. "But if it takes seven or eight days, or even longer, we might not be coming back at all."

The only other person in the vehicle besides Moira Lynch and her group was Mark Rhodes, so they chose not to hide the truth.

"You’re leaving soon?"

Moira Lynch nodded. "If all goes according to plan, we’ll be leaving in five days."

Mark Rhodes said nothing. To be honest, he had always been skeptical about their identities as aliens.

Rather than believing they were otherworldly aliens, he was more inclined to think they had simply come across some extraordinary opportunity.

To confirm this, he had even secretly taken strands of their hair for analysis. The results showed they were human, but a different kind of human from his people.

Their genes were highly similar, but ultimately, they were different.

Hugh Finch clapped him on the shoulder. "This parting is only temporary. We will surely meet again in the near future."

In one of his divinations, Hugh had seen a vision of himself and his friends sharing drinks and laughing with Mark Rhodes, which meant they were destined to meet again.

As Hugh Finch spoke, Shane Rhodes glanced at him but said nothing.

Mark Rhodes truly was the savior chosen by the Heavenly Dao; he quickly composed himself. Still, the look he gave Moira Lynch was tinged with regret.

Such incredible talent—what a shame she didn’t belong to his world.

After a full day of travel, the group of four, along with Mark Rhodes and his eleven team members, successfully reached the foot of a mountain. The road ended there, so they had to continue on foot.

Mark Rhodes held a hand-drawn map. After confirming their current position, he took the lead and began clearing a path at the front of the group.

There were fewer mutated plants and animals on the outskirts, and most of the ones they did encounter were relatively docile. So far, their progress had been smooth, and they hadn’t run into any major obstacles.

Just then, a black figure flashed past in front of them, and the entire group instantly went on high alert.

Moira Lynch noticed that every member of Mark Rhodes’s squad was equipped with the infinite-energy weapons she had made.

’Catch it! Catch that rabbit that just ran by!’

Patience was shouting inside Moira’s mind.

’Wait a minute, weren’t you with the bionic entity? When did you get back?’

’No, that’s not right. This isn’t the time to worry about that.’

Before Moira could even react, the words had already left her lips. "Catch it!"

The moment she spoke, Shane Rhodes and Kai York shot forward like lightning without a moment’s hesitation, leaving only afterimages in their wake.

’Alive! I need it alive!’

Patience shrieked in Moira’s mind again.

"I need it alive! Don’t you kill it!"

The two had already taken off after the rabbit, so it was unclear if they had heard Moira’s voice.

Hugh Finch asked, "Moira, was there something special about that rabbit?"

’Don’t tell me it’s like that Ragdoll Cat and awakened two superpowers?’

’Right, what is so special about it?’

Moira asked Patience in her mind.

She then relayed the answer she received from Patience to the others.

"That was a mutated Fragrant Rabbit. Before they reach adulthood, Fragrant Rabbits have tender, delicious meat. After they mature, the meat quality declines, but in return, their fur becomes incredibly smooth, making it a high-end luxury good.

"Fragrant Rabbits come in several colors. White is the most common, followed by brown, gray, and gold. Black is the rarest.

"You might not find a single black one in a hundred thousand Fragrant Rabbits. And that one seemed to be pregnant. I’m planning to take it back and raise it."

Aside from Hugh Finch and Mark Rhodes, no one else present had any idea what Moira was talking about.

Before adulthood? After adulthood? Hadn’t these rabbits only appeared after the apocalypse? What did any of this have to do with luxury goods?

A few minutes later, Kai York and Shane Rhodes returned, dragging a half-dead black rabbit several times larger than a normal one.

"I thought I heard you yell for it to be alive while we were chasing it, so I stopped Shane from getting too rough," Kai York said with an exaggerated expression. "Otherwise, this rabbit would’ve been cooked to a crisp."

Moira inspected the rabbit. As long as it was still breathing, its other injuries weren’t a problem.

"No problem, it can be healed." With that, Moira put the rabbit into her Space Button.

Her Subspace was filled with mutated plants; she was afraid that if she put the rabbit in there, it would devour everything. The Space Button was a safer option.

As they ventured deeper into the forest, a few more Fragrant Rabbits appeared, and they were promptly caught.
