Just as the two were about to leave, a dark figure suddenly darted out from the side.

The figure’s target was precise: the headphones Moira Lynch was wearing.

However, the moment the figure moved, Moira Lynch had already sensed it.

She took a slight step back, perfectly brushing past the dark figure.

Only then did Moira Lynch see that her attacker was a teenager. He was dressed in black clothes with a black hat on his head.

Seeing his first attempt had failed, the teenager didn’t leave. He turned around, his eyes completely bloodshot, like a wild beast that had lost its mind. He glared at Moira Lynch with pure savagery.

"Give me the headphones! I want the headphones!"

The teenager roared and charged at Moira Lynch again.

But this time, before he could even lay a finger on Moira Lynch, security guards rushed over and stopped him.

As he was being led away, the teenager kept struggling, screaming things like, "I want the headphones!"

At that moment, a staff member came forward and said apologetically, "I’m sorry to have alarmed you both. We will handle this matter as quickly as possible."

Moira Lynch watched the teenager being taken away and asked, "Has this kind of thing been happening often lately?"

’The security guards arrived too quickly, as if they were already prepared.’

The staff member gave a wry smile. "Not exactly ’often,’ but more and more people are suffering from noise sickness now. With noise-canceling headphones out of stock, everyone’s temper has become extremely volatile, so it’s inevitable that some people lose control."

After the two left the mall, they sat in the car.

Hugh Finch didn’t start the car right away. Instead, he took out the list Moira Lynch had given him earlier.

"The prices for these items are too high. Even if we sell all the headphones, we won’t be able to buy much." Hugh Finch continued, "Noise-canceling headphones might be a scarce commodity for ordinary people, but that’s not necessarily true for the wealthy."

"So, what’s your plan?" Moira Lynch asked.

"I’m planning to sell all the Medicine I have, except for the nutrient liquid. These Medicines are one-of-a-kind here, so they should be in high demand."

They had brought these Medicines mainly for use in case of injury. Now that Moira Lynch was by his side, the Medicines were naturally not as important.

"In that case, you can have my share as well. I’ll just keep a small portion for myself. Can you get in touch with buyers? Do you need my help?" Moira Lynch said.

Hearing this, Hugh Finch shook his head and refused. "No need. I can handle this myself. I had a feeling those three people weren’t ordinary, and news about them has probably spread. A lot of people are looking for me now. I’ll propose that they trade for the items on our list."

"Alright." Moira Lynch nodded. "If that’s the case, I’ll add a little more."

After a brief discussion, they decided the sooner this was done, the better.

Afterward, the two split up.

Moira Lynch was responsible for moving all their things from the hotel to the air-raid shelter.

He, on the other hand, went to contact those people.

With that settled, Moira Lynch first headed to the air-raid shelter to empty her Space Button. She couldn’t help but complain internally, ’That Cosmic Consciousness is such a cheapskate. It was bad enough that it sealed my personal space, but it even restricted me to bringing in a Space Button with only ten square meters of room.’

’It’s not nearly enough.’

When Moira Lynch arrived near the air-raid shelter and was about to go inside, she noticed something was wrong.

Several sets of new footprints had appeared out of nowhere nearby. They looked fresh, and they were all concentrated around the shelter’s entrance.

She scanned the area with her spiritual power and quickly discovered a suspicious vehicle at the foot of the hill. Inside were the very same workers who had done the renovations.

There were two of them, and they had tools in the car. It looked like they had come to steal the renovation materials.

To ensure quality, Hugh Finch had used only the best materials. If they stripped those materials out, they could sell them on the secondhand market for a good amount of money.

They probably figured that even though the renovations were done, the place wouldn’t be used so soon, which is why they came.

’Their greed is a bottomless pit.’

Moira Lynch decided to teach these two a lesson.

This place was still relatively close to the city, so there were no large animals around. She simply found a few snakes, hypnotized them, and tossed them over toward the men to scare them to death.

After the men were scared away, to prevent the entrance from being discovered, Moira Lynch completely blocked it off with rocks. She herself used Space Movement to get inside.

After unloading the contents of her Space Button, she hurried back to the hotel without stopping.

She went back and forth like this several times until she had finally moved everything over.

That evening, Hugh Finch finally returned, but he came in through the window, giving Moira Lynch a start.

Before she could even ask, Hugh Finch explained, "Someone was following me."

"Next time something like this happens, just tell me directly. I’ll let you perform a little disappearing act right in front of them."

Hugh Finch sat down on the sofa and said, "I’ve already negotiated with them. Considering the limited space in our Space Buttons, we’ll only take ten of each item on the list. The rest will be exchanged for various gemstones."

The latter was a spur-of-the-moment idea.

He recalled that back when Moira Lynch hadn’t yet revealed her identity, she had been particularly fond of collecting such things. Most girls probably like pretty, shiny objects.

Moira Lynch, naturally, had no problem with this.

"When’s the exchange?" she asked.

"In three days, at a bar," Hugh Finch replied.

"I’ll go with you then. Don’t forget my ability. I won’t hold you back."

As she spoke, Hugh Finch swallowed the refusal that was on the tip of his tongue.

"Fine. But you have to listen to me when we’re there, and the Communication Corridor must be kept open at all times."

For the next three days, aside from the occasional trip out, the two of them spent most of their time in their room.

However, even so, their days were far from peaceful. As more and more people fell ill, everyone became extremely volatile.

The situation gradually escalated to the point where simply making eye contact with someone on the street could lead to a brawl, or even a full-blown melee.

Moira Lynch had witnessed this sort of thing more than once over the past few days.

Moreover, when these people fought, they showed no rationality whatsoever. Like crazed beasts, they would ferociously attack their enemies, trying to kill them.

Sometimes, even those who came to break up a fight would get drawn in and start fighting themselves.

Over the last few days, whenever they went out, someone would inevitably try to provoke them. It was incredibly annoying.
