Ancient Tears BloodLine
Chapter 1694: Part 1: 8th Opponent (2nd Challenge)
Night Cell Tower
My body completed its 5th tempering. The Red Mark transformation had occurred five times. Now, I could kill the two-tailed lizard elite creature with ease.
When my bloodline power stabilized, I turned toward the two-tailed lizard.
Boom!
The two-tailed lizard bolted from its spot to attack me. When the creature appeared in front of me, my right fist snapped out.
Smash!
In a flash, my fist connected with the flesh of its tail. The brute force broke the skin of the creature. It blasted off from the spot and landed on the ground.
Thud!
In a flash, the creature rocketed backward before crashing into the wall.
Puchak!
Blood leaked from the creature’s wounds. It didn’t take long for the two-tailed lizard to die. When the elite creature bled to death, I walked past it and went to the door near the wall.
Knob!
I turned the doorknob and walked inside the room. I stepped into the middle of the room.
It was my 8th opponent, but unlike the old man and the middle-aged man, the person standing in the middle of this room was a young-looking warrior. He appeared to be similar in age to me.
Seeing this, I raised my eyebrows in surprise. It was the first time I was facing a young warrior. What’s more, I sensed more than one inheritance inside the young man’s body.
The pale-looking young man with black hair raised his head. He looked toward the young Red Mark Warrior. At first, the young man was confident. He possessed dual elements within his body.
He had both the silver and golden elements, which were coursing through him. But soon, the young warrior’s expression changed drastically.
He saw that the warrior standing before him had more than two inheritances, and all of them were powerful.
He noticed that the crimson aura covering the young Red Mark Warrior was so dense that he had never seen anything like it before.
He didn’t fight; instead, he asked, "What’s your name?"
Hearing that, I smiled and replied, "I’m Zack Lockwood from Star University."
"Star University, huh?" the black-haired man said.
"I’m Luke. I’m an independent warrior," the man replied.
"An independent warrior. I’m hearing that for the first time," I said in surprise.
"Yes, back in my day, people like me used to be independent. It must have changed by now," Luke said with a sigh.
"Yes," I uttered.
"He doesn’t look like a criminal," the ancient spirit said.
Hearing that, I replied, "Yeah. But I have no choice but to kill them."
Luke then collected his thoughts. He circulated the dual elements in his body. The silver and golden elements spread across him. He knew the fight was going to be difficult.
He had never fought against someone with more than three inheritances.
Boom!
The next second, he bolted from his spot. In a flash, he punched forward to attack.
Both of his arms were covered in the silver and golden elements. Seeing that he had decided to attack me, I decided to use only brute force.
Boom!
In a flash, our arms came into contact. The brute force behind my attack pushed Luke backward. He was sent flying back forcibly before stabilizing his stance.
Luke’s face was filled with disbelief. He looked at his hand with utter seriousness. Finding that his hands were hurting, he understood that it would not be easy to defeat this young Red Mark Warrior.
The young warrior had pushed him back with sheer brute force. His face grew solemn as he realized his chances of dying were high this time.
But he was not afraid of death. Instead, death would be true freedom.
Luke then said, "I know I won’t survive you, so I will give you some advice. I can see that you have more than one inheritance."
"The Red Mark Rank might be strong here, but in the sky battlefield, you are easily disposable. You have to become at least a Quasi-God to gain some authority," he said in a serious tone.
"That authority will save you from other Quasi-Gods," he added.
I heard his words, and once again, the information jolted my heart. The old woman had said the exact same things to me. It appeared they had uncovered some secrets of the Quasi-Gods.
That was why they ended up here.
"Thanks for the heads-up, but I trust no one," I said to him.
"That’s even better," Luke replied with a smile.
Boom!
He then shot silver arrows at me. Compared to the water arrows of the old woman, these silver arrows moved much faster.
Swoosh!
In a flash, they reached me. My gaze was locked on the silver arrows. I sidestepped just enough to avoid them at the last moment.
Swoosh!
One after another, the silver arrows missed their target and struck the empty air behind me.
Luke was not surprised. He closed the distance and released the same attack. This time, the attacks had a higher chance of hitting their target.
Swoosh!
I evaded the attacks like the previous ones. My senses were highly alarmed and started giving me useful feedback.
My five ancient inheritances had reached the Red Mark Level. The next one was the ancient healing technique. If it reached the Red Mark Rank, it would become my 6th inheritance power.
For that to happen, I had to get injured first to trigger the inspiration. Wasting no time, I started running the incomplete ancient healing technique.
The tree-like rune in my mind began to throb. Luke continued to release his attacks.
Boom!
At one point, I stopped moving. One of the silver arrows struck my arm. It tore open the skin, but it failed to penetrate any deeper.
Seeing that, I was not surprised. My body had been tempered five times, so my physical defense was much stronger now. Then, I faced the other silver arrows.
Boom!
One after another, the silver arrows reached me and struck my body. The arrows split open my flesh, and drops of blood started dripping from the wounds.
At the same time, I used the ancient healing inheritance force, circulating it inside my body. The healing force flowed through its routes.
It reacted to the wounds and immediately started healing them.
On the other hand, Luke was taken aback. He saw that the young man was voluntarily letting himself get injured. He didn’t know the purpose behind it.
