Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever
Chapter 705 – End of the Witches
Chapter 705: Chapter 705 – End of the Witches
Vladimir, Voren and Seraphine reached the scene fast, their hearts pounding against their ribs like war drums. A sigh of relief escaped them, the sound collective and overwhelming, as they took in the sight before them.
The blood on the floor was Amelia’s.
It pooled around her still form, a crimson tide that spread across the marble like spilled wine. Her body lay twisted, broken, defeated. The grand witch who had promised vengeance had been reduced to nothing more than a corpse on the floor.
Oriana stood up with a small smile, her posture straight, her expression serene. Not a hair out of place. Not a scratch on her skin.
"Did you think I’d die so easy?"
Vladimir pulled her into his arms, his grip fierce, desperate. His body trembled against hers, the fear of losing her still coursing through his veins like poison.
"Don’t ever pull something like that again. I almost died of a heart attack."
Oriana smiled, her hand finding his cheek, her thumb brushing away the moisture that had gathered at the corner of his eye.
"I needed that closeness to prevent her from unleashing her powers. It could have hurt anyone."
The way of witches and shamans could not be understood by anyone else but their kind. It was a language of energy and sacrifice, of ancient laws and binding words. A dance that only they could perform.
"Please, let me be your slave." Jane cried, her voice cracking with desperation, her eyes wild with terror. But Seraphine only winked at Corvine before her head rolled on the floor, a clean strike that silenced her forever.
The omegas rushed to clean up the mess, their movements swift and efficient. They had seen worse. They had cleaned up worse. This was just another day in the Grimroot pack.
Oriana retrieved only the crowns and the necklaces, her hands careful as she lifted them from the blood-soaked counter. Then she announced, her voice carrying across the gallery with the weight of absolute authority.
"Everyone, stay in your suites until you hear the pack alarm. Me and our old shaman will take care of the Blood Moon Festival preparations with the required team. If you are not called upon, then please do not come out. There is enough food in all your fridges and pantry. Cook, or eat what’s there."
The coldness in her voice left nothing to the imagination. This was what they had all been waiting for.
Of course, children would not attend so the elderly folks would be taking care of them. The Blood Moon Festival was for the youth, not the aged.
As Seraphine and Voren made their way to their suites, they saw a few Alphas gathered around Ravyn.
The sight of them made Seraphine’s blood boil. Though she knew Ravyn was on their side, she wished she hadn’t heard the poison those Alphas were feeding him.
"Alpha Ravyn, did you hear what the witch said? She saved Seraphine’s daughter, and we all know that King Voren and Queen Seraphine only got together recently. It means that the girl we saw on the stage earlier, that beautiful princess, is your daughter, right?"
Ravyn did not speak.
Only Esperanza’s tears and deranged form when she saw him registered in his mind. The way she had clung to Voren, the terror in her eyes, the words she had screamed.
But Alpha Killian continued nonetheless, his voice smooth and poisonous.
"Since you and the Queen’s child is alive, I think the moon goddess will give you a chance. Don’t ruin it. If you refuse her rejection, we shall all support you."
He patted Ravyn on the shoulder as the other Alphas nodded, their faces eager, their eyes hungry.
"He’s right, Alpha Ravyn, and don’t think about finances. Investing with the mafias is a good and legitimate business if you use the Lycans. We can show you." Alpha Brad added his voice, his tone persuasive, his smile a trap.
The moment they turned to leave, they came face to face with Voren and Seraphine.
"Why? Are you going to dismember us?" Killian asked, hiding his fears as Voren’s cold dark gaze met his. The Alpha King’s eyes were black pools of fury, bottomless and terrifying.
But the latter scoffed, the sound sharp and dismissive.
"Dismember you? After the festival, I shall visit your pack. Just make sure..."
Voren let the rest of his words hang in the air as he stared at the other Alphas, his gaze moving from face to face like a blade seeking flesh.
"Same applies to you all. The packs must be rid of viruses, and I’ll be doing the cleanup myself."
Finally, his gaze landed on Ravyn. "Alpha Ravyn, I didn’t hear your response to them."
Ravyn shook his head, his expression weary, his eyes heavy with exhaustion and pain. "Alpha King, you have everything. Just let me be."
He hastened past Voren with the speed of lightning and entered the elevator, his footsteps echoing against the floor. The doors slid shut behind him, swallowing him into silence.
Killian smiled and ambled towards Voren, his confidence returning now that Ravyn was gone.
"King Voren, we might leave this Blood Moon Festival with your crown and your queen."
Oh, Voren’s fingers wrapped tightly around him at the mention of queen. The grip was iron, unbreakable, a promise of violence.
"You want the crown, work hard for it. But my queen?" Voren’s voice turned deadly, cold enough to freeze fire. "Not in this life, and not in the afterlife."
Killian had turned ghost white, his legs hanging in the air as the other Alphas panicked. Their faces contorted with fear, their hands raised in surrender.
"King Voren, aren’t we allowed to speak freely? Why must you kill him?"
"Kill him? Death is too good for him. But anyone who wishes to be with my queen will pay."
His fingers loosened and Killian fell with a thud, his eyes bulging, as he struggled for breath. He gasped and choked, his hands clawing at his throat, his body trembling with terror.
Voren led his wife to his suite but before they reached there, a thought crossed his mind. "I’ll have a word with Ravyn."
Seraphine did not refuse. "I shall be waiting for you, so you better be quick," she winked seductively.

As soon as Voren reached Ravyn’s suite, he pressed the bell and the door opened after a few seconds. Ravyn stood there with a half-smile and a bag in hand. "Voren, is it so hard to trust me?"
