Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever
Chapter 704 – Remove Her Head
Chapter 704: Chapter 704 – Remove Her Head
Ravyn moved far away from Amelia.
When bringing her in, he’d ensured to not walk close to her, keeping a distance that spoke of caution and self-preservation. It wasn’t the same with the two other witches, but right now, Amelia was on her own. Isolated, vulnerable, exactly where he needed her to be.
Coco and Jane were both happy.
Finally, Amelia would avenge them and get back the crowns. The grand witch had arrived like a savior, her power radiating from her in waves that promised retribution and justice.
But as for their missing limbs, they had no idea about how to get them back. The blood had stopped flowing, their bodies had numbed, but the horror of their mutilation remained, a permanent reminder of their failure.
Amelia stepped forward, studying the carrier of the voice as a frown contoured her expression. Her eyes narrowed, her lips pressing into a thin line of confusion and disdain. "A Luna?"
She chuckled, the sound dry and mocking. "What authority do you have?"
"A grand witch." Oriana smiled back, her expression serene and unbothered.
The shaman was close behind, though Oriana had insisted on handling this on her own. Her posture was relaxed, her hands loose at her sides, but there was something in her eyes that spoke of ancient power and absolute certainty.
"Did you not do your homework?"
Amelia closed her eyes. The energy swirling around Oriana was not ordinary. It pulsed and thrummed and sang with a power that predated memory, that stretched back to the dawn of creation itself. It was the kind of power that made witches tremble, that made even the most arrogant of their kind pause.
"Your powers are ancient. How is that possible? Unless..."
Oriana raised a brow, a knowing glint flickering in her eyes. "This is your end, Amelia. You should not have come."
Amelia knew that Oriana’s energy was not ordinary, but she was also a grand witch who had honed her powers from sacrifice and dedication to the Lycans.
She had given everything to them, had bled for them, had killed for them. Even now, she would not be able to enter the Lycan fortress anymore and would have her life sacrificed for her daughter as soon as she returned. But it was worth it for as long as she could avenge her daughter.
"You treated my daughter like livestock." Amelia’s voice shook, pain sitting in her chest like a physical weight. Her hands trembled at her sides, her eyes burning with tears she refused to shed.
"I’m not leaving without compensation. I want Sera and her daughter." The corner of Oriana’s lips twitched, amusement flickering across her features.
"The Arcade Constitution 441 states that a witch who uses her powers to destroy the innocent must pay with something of equal value."
Amelia stumbled backwards. Her face drained of color, her breath catching in her throat. The words hit her like a physical blow, stealing the strength from her legs. "You are no witch."
Oriana’s energy wasn’t her kind. It was something older, something purer, something that had no business existing in this world. "So how do you know about the Arcade Constitution?"
"I’m the new shaman of this pack, Amelia. You arrived in time to pay the price of your crimes."
Oriana’s voice was calm, measured, the voice of a judge delivering a sentence.
"Should I list them all? How you and your daughter used a false life spell on my son, to make him think he slept with your daughter."
Amelia took another step back. "But your son poured acid on my daughter’s face."
"I have not even come to that." Oriana smiled evilly, the expression transforming her features into something terrifying and beautiful.
"For decades, you and your daughter used a mirror form spell to make her carry my daughter’s appearance to deceive my son. She also benefited from it a lot as it allowed her to win so many modeling contracts. How are you going to pay for that?"
Ravyn was sending a live video to Battal as a message dropped to his phone. ’I want that Luna to work for me. I will pay her any amount.’
Ravyn shook his head and responded, his fingers moving quickly across the screen.
’Impossible. She’s the King’s biological mother, and the mother-in-law of the Queen.’ The response was prompt.
’No wonder. Keep an eye on her. I’ll tell you what to do next.’
"Fine. Let my daughter go, and I will be your slave," Amelia proposed, desperation threading through her voice. But Oriana shook her head, her expression cold and unyielding.
"Your life isn’t worth it. Witches are a taboo to our kind. You all broke our pack law constitution 122. No witch is to be allowed into our territory. If they somehow let themselves in, they must never leave alive."
Amelia could not accept that she was losing. The more Oriana continued to justify her stance with the law, the more it weakened Amelia’s powers. Each word was a blow, each sentence a chain that bound her tighter and tighter.
"I have no knowledge of the laws of this pack."
"But you know the law of the Arcade Constitution clause 676. Do not attack a person without knowing their laws, especially not an innocent person."
Blood sputtered from Amelia’s mouth, a crimson spray that stained her lips and dripped down her chin. Coco cried, her sobs echoing through the gallery, and Jane panicked, her eyes wild with terror. They had no idea that every law Oriana coded was a judgment against Amelia’s soul.
"Mom, what’s going on?"
Coco cried, but when she didn’t get a response, she addressed Seraphine in a pleading tone.
"Luna Queen, I am the one who saved your daughter. I could have killed or sent her to an orphanage, but I brought her to Voren instead."
Chaos broke out. "What’s she talking about? Wasn’t Luna Sera’s pup killed?"
"Remove her head," Seraphine ordered, her rage out of control. The words were a thunderclap, a command that brooked no argument. For the packs, she was Esperanza’s stepmother and that was enough to kill any speculations about her the girl being Ravyn’s daughter.
"No." Amelia reached out but it was too late. Corvine’s sword was too fast, a silver blur that flashed through the air with deadly precision. Only Coco’s head dangled on the floor, her lifeless eyes staring up at the ceiling.
Amelia charged towards Seraphine but crashed into Oriana.
The woman had calculated her every move, had anticipated every attack, had prepared for every possibility.
The two middle-aged women, one looking like a youth and the other looking her age, were lifted with an unseen force as they both crashed to the floor. Blood spattered everywhere, painting the floor and the faces of those who watched in horror.
"Ana." Vladimir yelled, his voice cracking with terror.
"Mom." Seraphine and Voren yelled, their voices rising in unison.
"Amelia." Jane yelled, her voice joining the chorus of screams, all at once.
