Chapter 1503: Incorrect Password

That night, Su Li received a barrage of ranting messages from Xu Haohao.

Her unreliable fourth senior brother had dragged her off to hike up Cloud Mist Mountain; the scenery was gorgeous and they even ran into Uncle Mo Yu, but by the time she got down the mountain her legs were basically useless.

That money-grubbing mutt Xuan Ting even took the chance to rob her blind—said he’d only carry her down if she paid him, then squeezed a huge sum out of her. A textbook case of seeing nothing but money.

Reading this rant, Su Li couldn’t help a bead of awkward sweat drip down her forehead.

The two of them really are...

Still... even though it sounded like Xu Haohao was complaining, Su Li somehow felt she was actually pretty happy.

People, you know—being happy is what matters most.

Thinking that, Su Li hugged her iPad and carefully looked over the latest wedding ring design sketches Designer Anna had sent; no matter how she looked at them, they all seemed beautiful.

"Designer Anna wants to come to Hua Country tomorrow to meet with us about the ring design," Su Li said with a smile when she saw Feng Huaijin walk out of the bathroom.

Feng Huaijin nodded, then asked, "Why didn’t Feng Yi come home today? Doesn’t she come back every three days?"

"Professor Tang Lide’s lab project has made progress, they won’t let her come back."

Feng Huaijin’s eyes narrowed at once. "So she’s basically staying in the Research Institute nonstop? Does that Ning Yan go there a lot?"

Black lines filled Su Li’s head. "No! When you suggested having Ning Yan be my god-brother, were you serious, or just joking?"

A serious look surfaced on Feng Huaijin’s face. "I was serious. Since it looks like in the Future our family and that kid will have a pretty good relationship, making him your god-brother isn’t a bad idea. Scientific experiments all need funding; he’s just a kid with no backing, the Feng Family serving as his support wouldn’t be bad."

Last time he’d gone to that kid’s lecture, some random relative could just stand up and publicly mock him.

He’d heard that although this Ning Yan has the reputation of being a child prodigy, after getting special permission to enter the Research Institute, the projects he’s worked on have actually not been that outstanding.

Or rather, in a place like the Research Institute where talent is everywhere, even a child prodigy ends up just one of the crowd.

He really didn’t know why his Future daughter kept insisting that he was the greatest scientist-to-be.

But looking at it this way, that kid must have it pretty tough in the Research Institute too. Any major research project needs to recruit capable people to help, plus a constant stream of funding—without a solid backer, it’s hard.

And on a more selfish note... as an old father, he needed to protect his own little cabbage.

Seeing how serious Feng Huaijin looked, Su Li thought for a moment, then said, "If that’s the case, I’ll tell Yiyi and have her ask Ning Yan what he thinks."

Su Li tilted her head, thought for a bit, then suddenly got amused. "Having a scientist for a god-brother—this experience... sounds pretty sweet."

Watching Su Li’s expression, Feng Huaijin sighed inwardly. Seeing her like this, he decided he had to raise his cabbage properly himself; he absolutely couldn’t let just anyone come along and ’fertilize’ his precious cabbage!

Feng Yi had a family WeChat group with Su Li and Feng Huaijin called "A Loving Family." In the group, Su Li told Feng Yi to ask Ning Yan what he thought.

Feng Yi finally managed to escape from Professor Tang Lide’s laboratory and headed familiarly toward Ning Yan’s lab room.

Facing the tightly closed door, Feng Yi hummed a little tune and stretched out her jade-onion fingers, very skillfully tapping in a few digits on the keypad.

"Password error, password error—"

The door blared an alarm, along with the mechanical voice.

Feng Yi was dumbfounded. The door password was wrong? Uncle Ning actually changed the door code??
