Chapter 416: Chapter 213: The True Omen Bird, Divine Blood Obtained
Tining eyed Wuyu with curiosity. "Pei Ze, is this your magic pet?"
"That’s right."
"I never thought a Wizard’s magic pet could be this powerful."
Tining was amazed.
Her intuition told her this Crow Magic Pet’s combat strength wasn’t much different from her own.
Pei Ze glanced at Tining and smiled, offering no explanation.
Of course, an ordinary Wizard’s magic pet could never reach Level 4.
Only Wuyu, with its special talent, could have grown to this level.
’And Level 4 isn’t Wuyu’s limit, either.’
A glint flashed in Pei Ze’s eyes as he thought to himself,
’Omniscience, calculate the method for Wuyu’s evolution to Level 5.’
[Task created. Beginning calculation of the method for Wuyu’s evolution to Level 5. Estimated requirement: 5862 units of Elemental Source.]
’Over five thousand units of Elemental Source!’
The corner of Pei Ze’s mouth twitched.
Even with one hundred percent elementalization progress, the calculation would still take nearly two months to complete.
’Then again,’ he thought, ’I’m still only a Level 4 Wizard. Calculating a method for reaching Level 5 is bound to have an enormous cost.’
’If I wait until I’m a Level 5 Wizard, the cost will probably be much lower.’
’I’ll just let it run for now. It’s not like I have any other tasks that need doing.’
Pei Ze stretched and prepared to head back and rest.
After spending over a month in the Thunder Elemental Half-Plane, his Spirit had been constantly on edge. It was time to get some rest.
Now, all he had to do was wait for Tao Ping to deliver the money and materials from the potion recipe auction.
...
"Master Pei Ze, this is the money from the auction for the improved Thunder Elemental Affinity Potion recipe. Please have a look."
In the living room, Tao Ping handed over a dimensional bag, his face wreathed in smiles.
"The recipe sold for a total of 420,000 Magic Crystal Stones. Since you’re an honorary member of the Association, we only charge a one percent service fee. After deducting the 172,000 Magic Crystal Stones for the rare metals you requested, the remaining balance is 243,800 Magic Crystal Stones."
"Thank you for your hard work, Steward Tao."
Pei Ze smiled faintly, accepting the dimensional bag and setting it aside without a glance.
"It was no trouble at all. Serving you is my honor, Master Pei Ze." The smile on Tao Ping’s face grew even more enthusiastic.
An Elemental Mage and Tier Five Alchemist in his twenties—not to mention one who could improve Tier Five Potion recipes—needless to say, his future prospects were boundless.
If he could just form a good relationship with this client, his own path to promotion would be secure.
For an Association steward like him, stationed in a remote area, personal strength was secondary. Promotion and climbing to a higher position within the Association depended primarily on the client resources one managed.
The more high-quality clients he could attract for the Association, the more political capital he would have for a promotion.
A top-tier client with limitless potential like Pei Ze was exactly the kind of resource many stewards could only dream of acquiring.
In time, Pei Ze alone would be worth dozens, if not hundreds, of other clients!
"I have something else I’d like to commission your Association to sell," Pei Ze said suddenly.
Tao Ping’s spirits lifted instantly.
’Talk about perfect timing.’
’Something Pei Ze is this serious about must be incredibly valuable.’
’Another big deal has landed right in my lap!’
"You’re too kind, Master Pei Ze. You are a valued guest of the Association, and serving you to the best of my ability is my duty. What is it you wish to sell?"
Pei Ze took out the Stone Monument Fragment and placed it on the desk.
"This is it."
Tao Ping stared at the Stone Monument Fragment for a long moment. A mixture of confusion and embarrassment appeared on his face as he gave an awkward laugh. "Forgive my ignorance, Master Pei Ze, but... what is this?"
Pei Ze smiled, unconcerned. Tao Ping wasn’t an Elemental Mage, so of course he couldn’t see what was so miraculous about the Stone Monument Fragment.
"This is a Stone Monument Fragment that contains the Rule of Lightning. Meditating on the rule patterns inscribed on it can increase one’s elementalization progress—by up to five percent."
GASP!
Tao Ping gasped.
’Increase elementalization progress?’
’By as much as five percent!’
’This fucking thing is a priceless treasure!’
When Tao Ping looked at the Stone Monument Fragment on the desk again, his expression had completely transformed. It was as if he were gazing upon his most beloved companion.
He didn’t doubt Pei Ze’s claim; the man had no reason to lie or exaggerate.
Besides, an item like this would have to be verified anyway, so it was impossible to fake its properties.
But if Pei Ze wasn’t exaggerating, then the value of this Stone Monument Fragment was simply staggering!
A conservative estimate would put its price at a million Magic Crystal Stones, no problem!
After all, the target customers for this item were Elemental Mages!
One should never underestimate the purchasing power of an Elemental Mage.
If word of this got out to Level 4 Wizards who were stuck at a bottleneck, just three or four percentage points away from advancing, they would absolutely fight over it, no matter the cost.
Tao Ping could already imagine the enormous waves this Stone Monument Fragment would create among the Level 4 Wizards of Chenxi City.
Swallowing hard, Tao Ping carefully cradled the Stone Monument Fragment and said with great deliberation, "Master Pei Ze, this is a matter of great importance. I’ll need to take this Stone Monument Fragment back for verification."
"I understand. Just follow your usual procedures," Pei Ze nodded magnanimously.
"Rest assured, Master Pei Ze. If the verification checks out, we will immediately begin arranging an auction. We will do everything we can to sell it for the highest possible price."
Tao Ping struggled to contain his elation, barely managing to keep from breaking into a wide grin.
’Master Pei Ze truly is my lucky star. I just closed one huge deal, and now he’s handed me an even bigger one.’
’It’s almost too good to be true!’
"Then I’ll leave it in your hands."
Watching Tao Ping hurry out of the residence as if with wings on his feet, Pei Ze smiled faintly and turned back toward the Meditation Room.
’Now, I just have to wait for the Stone Monument Fragment to sell and the money to come in. Then, I can get started on building my Wizard Tower.’
