After the Divorce, My Wife and I Were Both Reborn
Chapter 219 - 217: Nanny Su
Chapter 219: Chapter 217: Nanny Su
"Was... was that the upperclassman from just now?"
Watching Lin Yanwan walk into the room with a smile in her eyes, Tang Qiuting asked with some curiosity.
"Mhm, it was him. But he’s not an upperclassman, he’s in our year. You can just call him by his name from now on. He’s Jiang Xia," Lin Yanwan said with a smile.
’Knowing that guy’s personality, he’ll probably come running over here whenever he’s free. My roommates will find out sooner or later. There’s no hiding it.’
"Oh, okay." Tang Qiuting blushed slightly. "Sister Yanwan, so... is it true, what he said just now? Is he your boyfriend?"
"Yes, he is. We’ve known each other for a very, very long time."
Lin Yanwan nodded lightly. As she recalled the past twelve years, the little moments she had spent with him slowly surfaced in her mind, and a smile involuntarily appeared on her face.
’I’ve loved him in both of my lives. If there were another lifetime, I would still choose him.’
"Woah, so you’re childhood sweethearts? Liking each other since you were little, then getting into the same university... it’s like a story out of a romance novel." Tang Qiuting blinked, her gossip-loving side seemingly awakening without her realizing it.
"Mm, something like that."
Lin Yanwan blushed slightly.
’Not childhood sweethearts. Just a married couple who were planning to divorce, who started dating again after being reborn.’
"So, does that mean you have someone you like, Qiuting?" she teased.
"No, I don’t. My grandma always told me since I was little that I have to study hard so I can leave our village in the future and become a useful person to the country and society. So I spent all my time studying. I didn’t have time to mess around with boys... though it’s not like they liked me anyway." The girl from the mountains with the ponytail said earnestly.
Lin Yanwan fell silent. In Tang Qiuting, she seemed to see a reflection of all the children from the country’s impoverished mountainous regions.
’If they want to get ahead in life, studying hard is the only way. There’s no other path.’
Fortunately, she had gotten into Tsinghua and hadn’t let her family’s expectations down.
"It’s right not to date while you’re focused on your studies," Lin Yanwan said with a nod. "Qiuting, don’t slack off. You have to keep working hard in university too!"
"Mhm!"
The young woman nodded emphatically and took a few oranges out of a large pocket, handing them over. "Sister Yanwan, these are ponkans from my hometown. My grandma grew them herself. They’re super sweet, you should try one."

Things were much more relaxed on Jiang Xia’s end. He hadn’t brought that much stuff. He wiped down his bed and desk twice with a cloth, stuffed the clothes from his suitcase into the wardrobe, and called it a day.
As for a computer, Xia Shanshan had previously offered to buy him a laptop, but he had refused. Compared to desktops, the performance of laptops from this era was just too poor.
’When I get the chance, I should go to a computer market myself and build one in the dorm.’
As for Su Qing, he was mopping the dorm floor. Then he scrubbed the toilet and wiped down the balcony. The originally dusty dorm room was cleaned spotless by him in no time at all.
Jiang Xia couldn’t help but wonder. This guy didn’t seem like a neat-freak, but for some reason, he kept seeing a shadow of Xia Shanshan in Su Qing. ’Could this be the legendary "mom-friend" roommate?’
And so, Su Qing gained another label. Besides being a "total stud," he was also a "mother hen."
"Old Su, you’ve mopped the floor so clean I don’t even have a place to stand," Jiang Xia said with a laugh.
"It’s fine, go ahead and walk on it. If it gets dirty, I’ll just mop it again. I’ll go buy four pairs of slippers this afternoon." Su Qing looked at the door and pondered for a moment before continuing, "Mhm, we’ll also need a doormat for the entrance and the bathroom. As for the size, something around 80 centimeters long and 60 centimeters wide should work."
Jiang Xia: "..."
For a moment, he didn’t know what to say. ’This Master Jing is so enthusiastic, isn’t he? A little too enthusiastic, hey!’
"Do you have OCD? You can’t stand mess and dirt?" Jiang Xia asked suddenly.
Su Qing shook his head. "No, I just prefer a more comfortable living environment."
He smiled and said, "These are just habits I developed when I was a kid. Of course, if you run into any trouble, you can come to me. I just don’t know if I’ll be able to help you solve your problems."
Hearing this, Jiang Xia was almost certain. This guy was the type whose "doting mother" attribute was off the charts. Being friends with someone like this would be incredibly comfortable.
To put it simply, he would do everything within his power for you, taking care of you in every way in your daily life, just like a mother hen. But the prerequisite was that he genuinely considered you a friend.
If he weren’t male, this type of person would absolutely be the most suitable candidate for a girlfriend.
"Old Su, I might as well just call you Nanny Su from now on," Jiang Xia said with a laugh.
Su Qing paused for a moment. Surprisingly, he didn’t object. He just shrugged and said with a smile, "If it’s a nickname, then whatever. I don’t mind."
Just as he finished speaking, the dorm room door was pushed open, and two guys walked in carrying suitcases.
Four pairs of eyes met. Jiang Xia stood up from his seat and greeted them, "You two must be our roommates for 620B, right? I’m Jiang Xia—Jiang as in the Yangtze River, and Xia as in summer. He’s Su Qing. The ’Qing’ in his name is from the phrase for ’billing and cooing’."
Su Qing’s eyelid twitched. In all his years, it was the first time he’d ever heard someone introduce his name like that.
"Oh, oh, hello."
The guy in front put his suitcase on the floor. He was about 1.7 meters tall, with slightly dark skin, thick eyebrows, and large eyes. His features were well-defined.
"My name is Zhao Ning. The Zhao from ’Zhao, Qian, Sun, Li,’ and the Ning from ’ningjing’ for tranquility."
He paused, looking at the two ridiculously handsome roommates in front of him. "Are you two in computer science too?"
"Computer science? Not the School of Fine Arts?"
Jiang Xia and Su Qing exchanged a silent glance, suddenly realizing that they were apparently in a mixed-major dorm.
In other words, people from different majors had been assigned to the same dorm room.
"I... I’m also in computer science. In the same class as him."
At that moment, the other guy standing next to him spoke up quietly.
"Hello, everyone. My name is Zhou Zijian. The Zhou from ’Zhou, Wu, Zheng, Wang,’ the Zi from ’Kongzi’ for Confucius, and the Jian from ’jiankang’ for health."
"It’s fine that we’re not in the same major. We’re all roommates from now on. For the next four years, let’s all get along," Su Qing said with a gentle smile.
The other two guys looked at him and instinctively became a little nervous. After all, any normal person could recognize his pure Beijing accent.
’This is a genuine Master Jing!’
’And judging by his aura, you can tell he’s definitely not from an ordinary family. His parents are probably high-ranking officials or big-shot CEOs.’
"Not at all, not at all. We’ll be in your care too, you two from the School of Fine Arts," Zhao Ning said.
Zhou Zijian brought his bags to his designated spot and set them down. He ran a hand over the desk and said, "Wow, the dorm is this clean? Did you guys clean it? Thanks. I’ll take care of it next time."
"It wasn’t me. It was all Nanny Su’s hard work."
Jiang Xia said with a grin, looking at Su Qing.
