Chapter 217: Chapter 215: Stepsister

Jiang Xia was taken aback. He hadn’t expected to run into his roommate here. What a coincidence.

This guy named Su Qing was tall and slender, wearing a plain white T-shirt under a black striped shirt. He looked to be almost 1.9 meters tall. Jiang Xia, who was close to 1.8 meters, had always thought he was a decent height back in Yu Du, but compared to this guy, he was shorter by almost half a head.

"Jiang Xia." Jiang Xia extended his hand, and they shook. He smiled. "Head to the dorms together?"

"Sure."

Hearing his pure Imperial Capital accent, Jiang Xia asked with a grin, "Master Jing?"

Su Qing froze for a moment, then realized it was probably what people from other provinces called Imperial Capital natives. After all, they were at the foot of the emperor, the political center, and an economic powerhouse unlike any other in the country. The title ’Master’ was well-deserved.

"Haha, that’s the first time anyone’s ever called me that." Su Qing adjusted his delicate, gold-rimmed square glasses. Paired with his handsome features and gentle smile, he looked quite refined and scholarly.

For some reason, Jiang Xia couldn’t shake the feeling that he looked a bit like a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

"What about you? Where are you from?"

"From the Mountain City, Yu Du."

"I’ve seen *The Bang-Bang Army of the Mountain City* and *Life’s Spicy Hotpot*. The dialect is pretty interesting."

"Hahaha, it is."

The two hit it off right away.

Jiang Xia walked over to his wife. Lin Yanwan looked up at the tall guy he had brought back, momentarily lost in thought.

"He is?" Lin Yanwan asked.

"Su Qing, my classmate and roommate." Jiang Xia turned to the handsome guy he had just met and made the introduction. "Lin Yanwan, my wife."

He had skipped right over the word "girlfriend." He had to declare his sovereignty in front of outsiders.

Hearing this, Su Qing’s face twitched slightly.

’I can tell at a glance that Lin Yanwan is also a new student registering today,’ he thought. ’The problem is, why is this kid already calling her his wife?’

’Are all the top-student couples from other provinces this crazy? Coming to Tsinghua as a pre-formed team.’

’Everyone else finds a boyfriend or girlfriend in college. These two, on the other hand, it’s like they were assigned to each other in advance.’

Damn!

"Hello." To avoid any misunderstanding, Su Qing very sensibly kept his hands to himself and didn’t let his gaze linger on her for too long.

Lin Yanwan nodded. "Hello."

But inside, she was silently thinking, ’Are all art students this handsome?’

’No, Old Wang is a little lacking.’

"Where’s your stuff?"

Jiang Xia glanced at him. The guy was only carrying a backpack, not even a suitcase.

"Oh, my home isn’t far from Tsinghua. I’m just registering first. I’ll go home and get my things this afternoon," Su Qing said with a smile.

The corner of Jiang Xia’s mouth twitched. ’As expected of a Master Jing,’ he thought, ’so casual.’

"Here, let me help you with some of that."

With that, he took the suitcase from Jiang Xia’s hand. Without showing much effort at all, he lifted it lightly and started walking.

"Bro, you can just roll that suitcase," Jiang Xia said.

"It’s fine, I’ll just treat it as a workout." Su Qing gave a bashful smile. "I like to work out."

"..."

Jiang Xia was momentarily speechless. ’Tall, handsome, loves working out, sunny and cheerful, and a native Master Jing.’ ’Damn,’ he thought. ’It’s like he’s stacking buffs. With specs like these, he must have girlfriends by the dozen.’

Led by the "Master Jing," the three of them walked straight down Xinmin Road. It had to be said, Tsinghua Garden was truly massive. It took them nearly half an hour to walk from the School of Fine Arts Building to the vicinity of the Bauhinia Apartment complex.

Along the way, they passed a gymnasium, a track, a swimming pool, a soccer field, and a basketball court before finally seeing rows of apartment buildings. Their own buildings, Number Five and Number Six, were located between Bauhinia Garden and Taoli Garden.

Before they could officially move in, they still needed to go to the Student Community Management and Service Center to activate their student IDs and register their information.

"Alright, your student cards are activated. The student service center has a barbershop, a student market, a copy shop, an optometrist, a bookstore, and so on. It can meet almost all of your daily needs. Oh, and high-power electrical appliances are forbidden in the dorm rooms. If you need to use one, you must register it with your building manager."

The staff member at the service center moistened his dry lips and pointed behind him. "Go out this way and turn left for Building 4. Building 5 is behind it, and Building 6 is across from Building 5."

The three of them nodded and followed the directions to Building 5. With the start of the semester so close, they could already see many students coming and going.

"This is your suitcase, right? You go ahead and take your wife inside. I’ll wait for you out here," Su Qing said.

Jiang Xia nodded and led Lin Yanwan straight into the first-floor lobby.

While Lin Yanwan was registering, the dorm manager slowly recited the rules: "After moving into the dorm, the first thing you do is check if the provided furniture is in good condition. If you find any damage, report it for repairs immediately. You are not allowed to intentionally damage the furniture. Keep your student card safe and don’t lend it to others. The power in the dorms is shut off at 10:30 every night. If you run out of electricity, you can purchase more at the main desk of the student apartments. For more rules, please refer to the university life guide that came with your acceptance letter."

Lin Yanwan nodded. "Thank you, ma’am."

As soon as she finished, Jiang Xia politely asked, "Hello, ma’am. She’s my sister. I’m also a new student this year. You see, she has so much stuff—a backpack and suitcases. Could I possibly help her take them upstairs? Ten minutes, I’ll be down in ten minutes, max!"

The dorm manager gave him a look. "Is that so? Let me see your acceptance letter and student ID."

Jiang Xia, already prepared, handed both items over. The dorm manager looked at the letter, then at the ID, while also checking it against Jiang Xia’s face.

"Your surname is Jiang, and hers is Lin. What kind of brother and sister are you?"

Jiang Xia gave an apologetic smile. "Ma’am, a sworn sister is still a sister, right?"

Lin Yanwan couldn’t help but glare at him. She knew perfectly well what he meant by "sworn." And as for "sister"...

Her cheeks couldn’t help but flush red.

With that, the dorm manager pretty much understood. What "sworn sister"? They were obviously a couple. Still, in all her years working here, this was the first time she had ever seen a couple who had both gotten into Tsinghua together.

"This is a women’s dormitory. In principle, men are forbidden from entering. But since you’re both new students, I’ll let it slide just this once. Don’t let it happen again."

"Thank you, ma’am!"

"Write down your name, class, student number, and which dorm room you’re going to. And I mean it, be back down in ten minutes. Don’t dawdle and take all day."

"You got it!"

Jiang Xia quickly wrote down his information in the notebook, then grabbed a suitcase in each hand and headed upstairs.

Thankfully, 520A was on the second floor, so it wasn’t much of a struggle.

It was just that the girls passing by couldn’t help but stare a little longer when they saw a handsome guy entering their dorm building.

"I could have managed on my own, you know," Lin Yanwan said in a low voice as she took out her key to open the door.

"Weren’t you worried that other girls might try to steal me away? Think of this as me announcing our relationship ahead of schedule."

Jiang Xia smiled and tapped her cute nose.

"Right? My dear wife."
