Chapter 120: Chapter 119: Tsundere Lin Cucu

An available computer was in the corner of the internet cafe. Jiang Xia took the 5 yuan Chen Yao handed back, said, "Thanks," and led his wife by the hand straight to it.

"Why are you coming with me? There’s only one computer. Go keep your old classmate company," Lin Yanwan said, taking a small sip of her grapefruit water. It suddenly tasted very sour.

Jiang Xia put on a serious face. "Comrade Lin Yanwan, please mind your phrasing. Spending time with you is ’keeping company.’ Can spending time with others even be called that?"

"Then what is it called?"

Her question caught him off guard for a second, but his sharp mind quickly detected the unmistakable scent of jealousy in her tone.

"That’s not it. Why would I go keep someone else company for no reason? She’s working. I’m here as a customer. Besides," Jiang Xia gently pinched her smooth cheek, "you’re the only one who makes me so lovesick I can’t eat or drink, the one I dream about. Who else could it possibly be?"

’This proud wife of mine... She once got jealous of my six-year-old sister, and now she’s getting jealous of my old deskmate Chen Yao. Looks like I shouldn’t call her ’baby’ anymore. Lin Cucu is obviously a much better fit.’

’If I don’t clear this up immediately, there’s no telling what wild ideas she’ll get in her head.’

Blushing, Lin Yanwan slapped his hand away. "Okay, okay, I didn’t say anything. Go if you want to, don’t if you don’t. I’ll just listen to some music."

With that, she put on her headphones and opened the HandsomeDog Music app.

"You’re definitely jealous!" Jiang Xia teased, wiggling his eyebrows at her.

"I am not!"

"Based on my... *thorough* knowledge of you, that tone is pure jealousy!"

"..."

Lin Yanwan was speechless. ’He’s said it all, what’s left for me to say? Keep being stubborn? My head’s not as hard as his. He can pry my mouth open no matter how tightly I shut it.’

"Baby, you care about me that much?" Jiang Xia leaned in, his face almost touching hers, and whispered, "You know I’ve only loved you in two lifetimes. How could you ever doubt my feelings?"

The warm breath on her ears made them itch. She took off her headphones and, with a red face, struggled to push him away. "That’s enough... Can’t you be a little more reserved in public?"

’If I’d known he was going to pester me like this, I would’ve just pretended to be magnanimous and not seen anything earlier.’

"I can, but you have to kiss me first."

"Why should I?!"

"You doubted me and even tried to push me toward another girl. I’m hurt," Jiang Xia said, sounding wronged. "I need a kiss to mend my wounded heart."

"I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have gotten jealous, I shouldn’t have doubted you, and I certainly shouldn’t have told you to go keep some other girl company. It’s all my fault."

"Mhm, now all that’s missing is a kiss."

"..."

The corner of Lin Yanwan’s mouth twitched. ’Is a kiss all this guy can think about?’ After hesitating for a couple of seconds, she quickly planted a SMACK on his cheek.

Seeing this, the guy at the next computer completely lost it. ’Fuck, what rotten luck. I come here to play some games and get a face full of their PDA?’

’Can’t this shameless couple just get a private room to be all lovey-dovey? This is seriously ruining my gaming experience!’

"Baby, scooch over a little. I’ll squeeze in with you," Jiang Xia said, nudging her arm.

Lin Yanwan squeezed to the side, but found he could only barely fit half a butt cheek on the seat.

"It’s no good. This chair is too small. It only fits one person."

"Then you get up. I’ll sit in the chair, and you can sit on my lap. We’ll be a perfect fit!"

The moment he finished speaking, the guy next to them shot to his feet with a SWOOSH and yelled toward the front counter, "Hey, attendant! I’m logging off!"

The couple looked at each other, wondering what was up with the guy. ’Why is he so mad?’

"Look, his computer is free now. Hurry up and go. And stop always thinking about me sitting on your lap." Lin Yanwan shot him a look. She knew exactly what he was up to. ’He just likes the feeling of my round butt pressing on him.’

Disappointed, Jiang Xia took the five yuan and walked briskly to the counter.

"Hey, old deskmate. Can you start up the computer next to my wife for two hours?"

"Oh-ho, things are moving fast. Already calling her ’wife’?" Chen Yao teased. She took the money, put it in the drawer, and typed for a moment. "Two hours, right? All set. Go ahead."

"By the way, could you and your ’wife’ be a little more mindful of your surroundings?" she said coolly. "There are cameras everywhere. We can see everything you do crystal clear. That guy who just left? He was probably sick of your PDA. He was muttering curses the whole way out."

"Huh? Oh, right. We will, we will."

Jiang Xia choked in embarrassment. ’How could I have forgotten about the cameras? The worst part is that it was basically a live broadcast for my old deskmate. That just feels weird.’

They didn’t exchange any more words. He jogged back to the station, and sure enough, the computer’s lock screen was gone, ready for him to use.

"That was fast? I thought you’d have a nice, long chat with her," Lin Yanwan said casually.

"What was there to say? Just, ’Hey, old deskmate, the computer next to my wife, two hours.’ That’s it."

’My wife?’

Her heart leaped, but she kept a straight face and feigned ignorance. "Huh? What was that you just said?"

"Uh... ’start it up,’ ’two hours,’ ’done’?"

"The part before that!"

"Um... ’Hey, old deskmate’?"

"No! The part after that!"

"’Start it up’?"

"No, that’s not it!"

"Huh? Did I miss something? It was just ’Hey, old deskmate,’ ’start it up,’ ’two hours,’ ’done.’ That’s everything."

"Hmph. If you can’t remember, just forget it."

She huffed in frustration, grabbed the lemon tea in front of Jiang Xia, and took a huge gulp. The sourness made her immediately stick out her tongue.

"I thought you didn’t like lemon tea? Why are you drinking so much of it?" he asked with a laugh.

Lin Yanwan said huffily, "I’m just going to drink it! I’m going to drink all of yours and make you watch and drool, but I won’t let you have any! I’ll let you die of craving!"

As she spoke, she took another long sip.

Jiang Xia chuckled to himself. ’This proud, silly wife of mine... how can she be so damn cute?’

"I said, ’Hey, old deskmate, the computer next to my wife...’" he said, smiling and blinking his eyes at her.

"Huh?!"

The straw fell from Lin Yanwan’s lips. She looked up and saw Jiang Xia flashing that infuriating smile of his.

’So this guy was just messing with me the whole time!’

"You did that on purpose!" she exclaimed, blushing as she raised a hand to hit him.

"I just wanted to see you get jealous for me." Jiang Xia gently took her hand in his. "Baby, you never used to care about titles like this. We dated for four years, and we barely posted about our relationship on social media. Why do you suddenly care so much about what I call you in front of other girls?"

Lin Yanwan froze. She suddenly realized something. ’After being reborn, I seem to have become much more possessive than before.’

’Is it because I love Jiang Xia more now?’

"If you like it, I’ll call you ’wife’ in front of my mom next time, too," he chuckled.

"Don’t you dare!"

Her face reddened as she handed him her grapefruit water. "Here, this is for you."

"Hm? You can have it."

"I finished yours. Mine is a little tastier, so you can have it."
