After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World
Chapter 2167: Protecting the Villa
They seriously considered just killing the two scouts rather than just beating them up. However, they were unclear about their goals for now, and they did not know whether they were deserving of death (yet).
The power behind them might also have ways to figure out if they died, or even advanced methods that could allow them to see the last moment of death. These were unlikely, but what if?
So, they just left them there. If their group was planning on causing trouble, they would do so regardless of whether they beat up the scouts in the first place.
Garan sent word to Valhalla that they had arrived. Lords generally wouldn’t stare at their population list. For big territories like cities, they practically never did. Valhalla was busy and was unable to meet with them, while Virion was elsewhere, so they sent a representative first.
Garan told them about what they had encountered and that they hoped their rest would not be disrupted. They will go to visit the Lord the next morning.
Naturally, the representative promised to send some guards to make rounds, and some trusted people to stay within the villa’s periphery.
As for the scouts they beat up, they’d find out who was behind them soon enough.
Who’d have thought the enemy would be more shameless than they thought?
...
About a few hours before dawn, several figures appeared in the villa area, rushing over to where Althea and Garan lived. They had fierce expressions on their faces, making it obvious that they were not very friendly.
However, new figures appeared and blocked them. They were wearing some familiar uniforms.
"We are the Lord’s force. How dare you try to antagonize an important business partner!!"
Normally, this would be enough to deter the troublemakers. Unexpectedly, the enemy brought out their own ancestor!
It was the kind in the late level 40s! There were also a few other people in their level 30s as well. They came from the side, hitting the guards from the side.
BANG!
SLAM!
The guards assigned by Valhalla were pushed back, surprised to see someone who had been in seclusion for years here.
"You might not know me, but our family is the strongest next to the Lord’s itself!" he spat, looking arrogant. "Now, give us those dwarves."
The onlookers—many of whom were woken up by the noise—looked shocked and interested when they heard this.
Dwarves! There were new dwarves here?
Dwarves had never really found Warrior City. There was not much need for them. They preferred using fists in their wars, and they did not have the habit of slavery.
Everyone knew of dwarves, though, and they knew they were found only in certain cities with relevant raw materials like Hassen City.
Many people had heard of them and what they were capable of, so they were naturally very curious about them!
Similarly, Althea and Garan had also been alerted by the noise. Or, to be more accurate, they rested in the living room, just in case, and sure enough, the enemy really attacked.
Althea looked at the old man whose face was filled with wrinkles. "What if I say No?"
"Then we will just have to take them by force."
"There are rules against trespassing, right?" she asked. "This is a villa under our name. You can’t enter."
"You will let me enter."
He sounded very self-assured, as if they were really just going to allow them inside
He let out the aura of a man approaching level 50, and many weaker people did have the instinct to kneel down due to the heaviness of the atmosphere.
To their surprise, neither Althea nor Garan showed any signs of struggle. It was like nothing changed at all.
"Are you an idiot?" Althea asked, confused. She didn’t take the weight of the aura to mind. Pshaw, considering what she went through in that sea of Thorns, this was nothing.
"Even if you don’t let us in, are you going to stay inside forever? If you succumb now, we will not hurt either of you. Otherwise..."
Garan sighed, not interested in having conversations with these bastards.
He immediately locked in on the level 46 ancestor. He jumped up and covered his fists with spiked metal, hitting him straight to the face. Since the level difference was pretty high, Garan did not hold back at all.
BANG!
They had to show early on that they were not people who would be easy to bully, making the enemies think twice in attacking. Neither Althea nor Garan were war-freaks. If a fight could be avoided, they would avoid it.
Ironically, in this case, it meant attacking first.
They would definitely attack, anyway, so they might as well make the first shot and gain some advantage.
"YOU!!"
The man felt pain, and he was pushed back with his knees bent. Fortunately, because of his level and innate sturdiness, it did not bleed nor did he fall down.
However, it was still bruised, and it had been decades since he had been hurt like this!
More than the physical pain, he was angrier at the fact that a bastard much weaker than he was landed a shot at all!
Gritting his teeth, the powerhouse jumped up to punch Garan. He targeted his face specifically, not just because he hated his handsome face but also as pure revenge.
He dared bruise his face? Then he would pummel his until there were no bones intact!!!
The force behind a Level 46’s hit was not a joke, especially an angry one whose pride had been hurt.
Garan avoided his hit, but the pathwalk where the punches landed had a small crater on it. This was a system pathway and was thus quite sturdy, so this amount of damage was indicative of the punch’s strength.
Unlike many powerhouses from other territories, there was a fighting culture in Warrior City. Basically, if one reached level 40 in Warrior City, they were very likely stronger in combat than the level 40s in other cities.
Garan felt this, but he did not feel shaken. While the fight was more challenging than anticipated, it didn’t feel like he would lose. At the very least, he wouldn’t be in a situation where it would be hard for him to escape.
While they were fighting, most of the other side was shocked, but some sharper people saw the opportunity to grab the woman who was currently standing leisurely at the villa’s walls.
There were a dozen of them attacking immediately. They had to grab her before she entered the scope of the property, after all.
Unexpectedly, a large vine appeared in front of them, grabbing them all by the waist, swinging and throwing them around.
There were also seaweed-like tentacles coming from the same direction. Its reach was shorter than the vines, but it was stickier and more flexible. Even when a level 40 managed to avoid the vine, he couldn’t escape the tentacles.
When he was carried up by the waist, struggling helplessly, he caught sight of the main body. The vine came from a giant yellow flower, while the one handling him was from a pink flower resting on the villa’s pond.
Either one felt like they glinted with deadliness, capable of ripping people apart in half.
