"How did its size increase?"

The small spectral serpent that had previously been floating harmlessly behind her throne was still there, but its body had changed.

It had originally been only one foot long.

Now it was ten feet long.

Despite that increase, the spectral serpent still floated almost helplessly behind the throne, giving no obvious indication that it had done anything at all.

Selene stared at it for a moment before extending her hand toward the surrounding blood.

A small blood spear quickly formed within the crimson atmosphere and shot directly toward the spectral creature.

Whoosh!

Bang!

The spear passed straight through the serpent as though it didn’t physically exist before striking the ground below and creating a one-meter-deep crater.

Selene’s eyes widened further.

Yet before she could understand what had happened, the spectral serpent suddenly grew again.

Its body stretched until it became eleven feet long.

Even then, it continued floating behind her throne in the same seemingly harmless manner, resembling either an oddly helpless pet or a predator patiently waiting for the right moment to attack, after it grow.

Selene noticed the increase, but she failed to notice something far more important.

The purple magic circle beneath her had been glowing throughout the entire process.

When she had launched the blood spear, a portion of her power had been transferred through the circle and into the spectral serpent.

That energy had caused the serpent to grow.

She also failed to notice the invisible thread connecting her to Brynessa, which had thickened slightly during the same process.

Meanwhile, Brynessa finally managed to break free from the backlash caused by her curse being resisted.

"Huff!"

Her breathing remained rough, and her mind was still somewhat disoriented, while the Origin within her body remained disturbed by the backlash, but she was at least able to think clearly again.

Her attention immediately returned to the curse she had used against Selene.

"False Prophecy"

Type: Origin Ability

Classification: Illusory Curse Magic

Brynessa creates a false omen inside a cursed target’s mind.

The target begins receiving brief visions of possible attacks, injuries, or movements.

These visions are not actual future predictions; they are curse-generated distortions created to interfere with decision-making.

Uses:

• Confuses powerful enemies.

• Causes hesitation.

• Makes evasive movement unreliable.

• Creates openings for Brynessa’s actual attacks.

---

Brynessa understood exactly why the curse had failed.

"That damn Demi-God innate form..." she cursed quietly beneath her breath.

Selene couldn’t actually wield genuine Demi-God-level power or cast true Demi-God-level spells, but through her innate ability, she was still able to access certain properties of that inheritance, although only at an extremely weak level compared with a real Demi-God.

Apparently, one of those properties was resistance to various forms of magic.

And that was only natural.

Once beings reached the Demi-God level, they possessed enough time, knowledge, and power to perfect their abilities, and many of them would naturally develop forms or abilities capable of defending against different types of supernatural attacks, including conceptual forms of magic.

Therefore, even though Selene’s Blood Sovereign form was nowhere near the actual power of a true Demi-God, it still retained some of those defensive properties.

That was why Brynessa’s direct curse attack had failed to affect her properly.

"Well, I only have one direct curse," Brynessa reminded herself as she considered her remaining abilities.

Her Fatal Prophecy, Serpent’s Omen, and Prophetic Bind were all growth-type curse powers, while Sevenfold Omen was different because it was both direct and indirect.

She wasn’t attacking her opponent directly with Sevenfold Omen. The symbols themselves would act according to their own effects.

And now, it was finally time for them to act.

Brynessa steadied herself as much as possible, although she was still unable to control her descent because the crimson sigil continued suppressing her body.

Her enormous serpent form was already dropping.

She had no way to stop it.

The next instant—

BOOOOOOM!

Her gigantic serpent body crashed into the ground with tremendous force, sending a thick cloud of dust outward while the impact reverberated across the battlefield.

"HISS!"

Brynessa hissed through the pain, but instead of attempting to take flight again, she lowered her long body against the ground and began crawling toward Selene like an actual serpent.

Her decision was clear. She was going to fight physically.

Seeing this, Selene immediately brought her attention back to Brynessa and chose to ignore the strange spectral serpent behind her for the moment, even though she had already noticed that its size seemed to increase whenever she used her power.

She placed both gigantic blood hands firmly against the armrests of the Crimson Throne, her fingers tightening around the crimson material as her Blood Sovereign body leaned forward.

She was ready to answer Brynessa’s advance with another authority.

"BLOOD LEGION"

The moment Selene activated Blood Legion, the surrounding blood that had been continuously rising from the wounded ground began to churn with renewed intensity, and by this point, the entire ten-kilometer area had already been filled with a crimson blood sphere whose lower portion contained nearly a meter of accumulated blood, allowing Brynessa’s thousand-foot-long serpent body to move through it like a snake swimming across a gigantic blood pool.

For a brief moment, nothing seemed to change, but the surface of the blood suddenly began to stir as though something buried beneath it had awakened, and with a sharp whoosh, humanoid figures began emerging one after another from the crimson pool.

Each figure stood ten feet tall, and every one of them possessed a different weapon while wearing armor formed entirely from condensed, solidified blood, giving them the appearance of an army of crimson warriors that had risen directly from Selene’s domain.

More importantly, every single Blood Warrior radiated an Early B-rank aura.

"THIS IS CRAZY!"

The Sunborn warriors could barely believe what they were seeing, because the sight of an Early B-rank being summoning an army in which every individual possessed the same rank was something that completely surpassed their expectations.

Yet this was the reality of true prodigies.
