With Jiang Yun gone, the two women now had some privacy to talk.

"So, he’s really my dad?" Han Yuxi tried to confirm once more.

"That’s right," Han Xiyue assured her. "Though I wouldn’t say I’ve known him the longest, we have known each other for a decent amount of time."

"Just how strong is he? He can’t be normal with all those treasures in his possession. If anyone found out about all the treasures he has, they would try anything to get their hands on them."

"I’m not sure myself, unfortunately. I only met your father again not too long ago. The only thing I know is that he far surpasses the power of an Immortal Emperor."

"If what you say is true, then perhaps he might actually be able to help us, but do we really need his help? We’ve been fine up to now by ourselves."

"Don’t you think it’s better to have help now that someone so powerful is willing to come to our aid? Though we might owe him, it’s better than being followed by so many Immortal Emperors every day."

"Even still, I don’t want his help. If he truly wants to help on his own initiative, then I won’t stop him, but I refuse to ask him for help myself."

"Then let’s just let nature take its course and see what happens in the end," Han Xiyue sighed.

"Let’s go into the room and prepare for the competition," Han Yuxi replied. "It won’t be long before it begins, and it can happen any day now."

Han Xiyue nodded and followed her daughter into the room to become familiar with the lodging where they would be staying. The door soon closed, leaving an empty hallway behind them.

Downstairs, Jiang Yun was discussing matters of lodging with the inn attendant.

"Do you have any rooms I can stay in here at your inn?"

"Unfortunately, we are completely booked, since the Four Sect Competition is about to take place. An unimaginable number of cultivators have already arrived and need lodgings to stay in."

"I see. Then is there anywhere I can stay in the meantime, since I assume there probably isn’t space nearby either?"

"You are correct, and every inn nearby is completely full. Those without lodging have no choice but to brave the streets or travel to a nearby town to find lodging, but the nearest one is quite far away."

"So, my only option if I want to stay somewhere is to go to a different town?"

"That’s correct."

"Then when does the sect competition start? I don’t want to miss it once I leave."

"That’s the problem that many face here, which you’ve just noticed. The sect competition has no real set time each year, other than it happens in the same month each time. You can only pray you don’t miss it, or continue to stay around until the competition starts."

Having run into a dead end, Jiang Yun didn’t know what else to ask, since the inn attendant also couldn’t provide much more help.

"Thank you for your explanation," Jiang Yun said in gratitude, having nothing else to ask.

"No problem, and good luck on your search for a place to stay," the innkeeper replied, returning to her duties.

Jiang Yun left the inn to continue thinking about his next course of action.

Finding a quiet place to sit, Jiang Yun began to ponder a solution to his current predicament. He wanted to stay for at least the sect competition to ensure his daughter’s safety.

After the competition, though, Jiang Yun felt that if she still didn’t want his help, then he would give up. Forcing help on someone was not the answer and letting her make her own way through life was a better solution.

Now, though, Jiang Yun couldn’t even stay for that, since there was nowhere to stay. Jiang Yun felt divided between the two options of staying or going elsewhere.

After much deliberation, Jiang Yun decided to leave and come back in a few days.

Though this would mean either coming exactly on time or missing a lot of the competition, it wouldn’t matter to Jiang Yun as long as he was here for some of it.

Having determined his plan, Jiang Yun got up and decided to go back to the Invincible Cloud sect.

It wouldn’t take long to travel back and forth between the two places, since Jiang Yun now knew where this place was.

In the next moment, Jiang Yun disappeared again, having no reason left to stay around.

A moment after that, Jiang Yun returned to the Invincible Cloud sect main hall. Looking around, Jiang Yun only saw two women sitting leisurely and talking. It was Bai Yanfei and Bai Yue, who had come back earlier.

"You’re back already?" Bai Yue asked in surprise once she saw Jiang Yun. "We’ve just arrived back ourselves."

"When I said come back fast, I didn’t think you’d actually come back this fast," Bai Yanfei expressed, with the same surprise on her face. "Have you resolved the business you went away for?"

"Not yet," Jiang Yun replied, having found somewhere to sit. "What I need to do won’t start for another few days, so I’ll be waiting in the meantime."

"So, what is it that you need to do?" Bai Yanfei asked curiously. "From what I can tell, you usually solve problems quite fast."

"I have a daughter who will be entering a sect competition in a few days," Jiang Yun explained openly. "I need to watch and ensure her safety."

"You have a daughter?!" Bai Yanfei and Bai Yue both asked in complete shock.

"Yes, I indeed do have a daughter. I only found out after you two left, so the information is new to me too. I’ve confirmed it, and the information is accurate."

"Does that mean you now have a wife?" Bai Yue inquired, having heard about the bizarre situation.

"I’m not that close to her mother, so I don’t have a wife. Though we don’t have that kind of relationship, we’re not enemies either."

"That’s good," Bai Yue replied. "I don’t know what I would’ve done if the sect suddenly had a madam."

"What’s the competition?" Bai Yanfei asked, after starting to grasp the situation.

"The Four Sects Competition. The place was too crowded, and I needed to come back here to wait."

"That’s the competition you were talking about? I’ve heard of this competition before, and it’s jointly held by the four strongest sects in the Immortal world."

"That sounds like an important event," Bai Yue interjected. "Can I come along when you go? I want to see this competition too."

"Do you want to participate?" Bai Yanfei interrupted. "It’s only for those below Heaven Immortal, and you’re overqualified."

"I wasn’t going to participate," Bai Yue answered. "I just want to watch such an important event."

"You can come if you like," Jiang Yun agreed. "It isn’t a problem if you want to come along."

"Can I come too?" Bai Yanfei chimed in.

"You can both come along. Just be sure that you’re ready to go in a couple of days."

"I have plenty of time," Bai Yue assured him. "I can leave whenever."

"I can do the same," Bai Yanfei replied, not wanting to be a burden.

"Then go and do what you need to do for the time being. It won’t start for another few days, so we have time to wait."

The two women nodded and left, since there wasn’t much else to discuss for the time being. With that, the three waited patiently for the time to arrive.

Once a few days had passed, Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei regrouped with Jiang Yun.

"Are you both ready to go?" Jiang Yun asked for confirmation.

"Yes, we’re ready," both women replied.

"Then we’ll set off now."

Jiang Yun grabbed the two and teleported to where the Four Sect Competition was taking place.

After arriving, the three were right outside the stadium that was hosting the competition. Loud sounds came out of the stadium, as it seemed battles were already taking place.

"It seems we’re a little late," Jiang Yun commented.

"Since we’re late, let’s go in quickly," Bai Yue suggested.

Bai Yanfei and Jiang Yun both nodded in understanding, and the three entered through the front entrance into the stadium.

Inside, people could be seen everywhere, yelling at the participants fighting in the center. Intense battles were ongoing while the contestants went all out to prove themselves.

Wanting to find somewhere to watch from, Jiang Yun led the way and soon found three open seats that weren’t too far away.

Now with seating acquired, Jiang Yun looked around to try and find Han Yuxi and see how she was doing. With a quick glance around the center, Jiang Yun soon found Han Yuxi engaged in an intense battle herself.

Intrigued by just how strong his daughter was, Jiang Yun watched closely with his full attention on Han Yuxi.
