Chapter 260: Chapter 260: Finding Evidence Against Ophelia Warren

Sienna Everett froze, her eyes widening in disbelief. "You’re still plotting this! And to think you acted like you’d listen to me before, telling me to consider whether to accept your confession or get a divorce. But what you’re saying now is that even if I wanted a divorce, you wouldn’t agree. So what the hell was the point of me even thinking about it!"

Julian Forrester immediately rubbed her head, trying to soothe her like a ruffled kitten. "Don’t worry. I just mean that if you wanted a divorce, I would use other excuses to drag it out and postpone the date, just so I’d have more opportunities to keep pursuing you."

Sienna Everett gritted her teeth. "You’re so devious!"

Julian Forrester gazed at her intently, his dark eyes shrouded by a dim glimmer. "Sienna, I can’t bear losing you a second time."

The man’s deep, sensual voice slowly curled into her ears, and Sienna Everett felt her heartstrings tighten.

’Of course, she knew what he meant. The "first time" was when they had their big falling out.’

A single separation that had lasted for so many years.

And now, he couldn’t bear the thought of losing her a second time...

’Fine. He had a point.’

Sienna Everett puffed out her cheeks. "Okay, fine. I won’t hold it against you. By the way, back when I had just left the Everett family, and Grandpa told us to get married... we didn’t just rush into it blindly, did we? You wanted to marry me all along, didn’t you?"

Julian Forrester didn’t deny it, gently nuzzling his nose against her cheek. "Yes. I’ve wanted you for a very long time."

’Wanted me for a very long time...’

Sienna Everett’s earlobes instantly flushed red. For some reason, she found his words so blunt they were embarrassing.

’Back on the day Julian Forrester confessed his feelings, when he said he’d liked her ever since they were kids, she had already pretty much guessed it. Getting married back then hadn’t been a blind rush at all. He had been willing from the start, just taking advantage of the situation to register their marriage and tie them together with the certificate...’

’Well, he’s been smart since he was a kid. He really knows how to turn a situation to his advantage...’

Seeing Julian Forrester still staring at her, Sienna Everett’s eyes crinkled at the corners as she cupped his face in her hands. "I already said I won’t hold it against you, and I won’t dredge up the past, either. So why are you still staring at me?"

Julian Forrester’s face was still a little pale. His long, dark lashes were lowered, each one distinct. He asked, "If someone else had saved you when the chandelier fell... would you still be with me now?"

Sienna Everett froze, her eyes widening slightly. "Let me make one thing clear. I’m not with you just because you saved me and got hurt for my sake! Besides, there are no ’ifs.’ You were the one who saved me that day. There was no one else!"

’Sigh. It all came back to her. She hadn’t given Julian Forrester enough affection or security, and that’s why he was so worried about losing her, asking questions like this.’

’She had to learn to return his love in equal measure.’

’She may have never really been in a relationship before, but she understood that if the love between two people was unequal, cracks would eventually start to form.’

"Don’t worry. I’ll do my best to love you as much as you love me," Sienna Everett said, leaning in to plant a firm kiss on the corner of his lips. "See? I’ve never kissed any other man."

Julian Forrester casually raised an eyebrow and let out a low chuckle. "One’s not enough. How about another?"

Sienna Everett’s expression tightened. "Don’t push your luck."

Julian Forrester said nothing.

After a moment, he raised a hand, his slender, pale fingers rubbing his temple. "My head’s starting to hurt a little."

Sienna Everett instantly grew tense. "I’ll get the doctor!"

Julian Forrester grabbed her hand, a lazy, playful smile in his eyes. "It’ll stop hurting if you give me a kiss."

Sienna Everett was speechless.

...

That afternoon, Keith Sterling eagerly rushed into the hospital room.

"Bro, how are you feeling? Does anything still hurt?"

Sienna Everett pouted. "Oh, he’s feeling *great*."

’He’s even in the mood to tease me!’

Keith Sterling studied his brother closely. Other than a lingering paleness, his spirits seemed much improved.

He even looked invigorated, as if he’d absorbed some kind of vital essence and was now glowing with health...

’Wait a second... absorbed vital essence and glowing with health?’

Keith Sterling narrowed his eyes, his clever gaze darting between his brother and Sierra. ’Something’s not right. Something is *very* not right!’

’Something definitely happened between his bro and Sierra!’

’And he was sure it was something good!’

’Otherwise, his bro wouldn’t be in such a good mood!’

"Bro, since you’re recovering so well, I can rest easy!"

Sienna Everett, however, frowned slightly. Julian Forrester’s recurring headaches were a problem that needed to be taken care of as soon as possible.

’She didn’t want him to be in so much pain.’

A short while later, Samuel Sutton arrived, carrying some urgent work for Julian Forrester to sign, along with his personal laptop.

Sienna Everett’s expression immediately darkened. "Is it really that urgent?"

’Julian Forrester was still in the hospital. He hadn’t even been discharged, and he was already back to work.’

’What if he wears himself out?’

Samuel Sutton scratched his head in embarrassment. He didn’t want this either; he felt bad for Mr. Forrester, too!

But some of the documents required Mr. Forrester’s personal signature and couldn’t be delayed any further. There was simply no other way.

Julian Forrester watched the way Sienna Everett defended him, his eyes filled with an indescribable adoration. His voice was light, lazy, and utterly captivating. "See? Sienna’s the one who treats me best."

Sienna Everett’s ears turned red. ’What is he saying with so many people around!’

Keith Sterling’s eyes darted back and forth. ’Whoa, Sierra is already this concerned about my bro?’

Julian Forrester added, "But it’s fine. Even while I’m sick, I can still earn a little more money for Sienna."

Sienna Everett was speechless.

’What does he mean, earn money *for her*?’

’She wasn’t his boss.’

Julian Forrester didn’t stay in bed the whole time. Despite his weakness, he needed to walk around to help his body recover faster.

Fortunately, it was a VIP room with plenty of space.

He walked over to a nearby sofa and sat down, taking the contracts from Samuel Sutton.

Sienna Everett couldn’t talk him out of it, so she could only keep a close eye on him. She relaxed a little when she saw that he seemed to be holding up well.

She turned to Keith Sterling and asked in a low voice, "Did you find out anything about that suspicious person in the black baseball cap from the restaurant?"

Keith Sterling’s face lit up with excitement. "I was just about to tell you! We’ve got his info. His name is Frank Lennon, a small-time thug. I didn’t want to tip our hand, so I had someone secretly plant bugs and surveillance equipment in his house!"

"And yesterday afternoon, our stakeout paid off! We caught him making a suspicious call! He didn’t have it on speaker, so we couldn’t make out who was on the other end. But it doesn’t matter. He’ll definitely contact that person again, and we’ll be able to find out who’s behind this soon!"

Hearing this, Julian Forrester looked up. "What person in a baseball cap?"

"Bro, on the day the chandelier fell! When Sierra went to the restaurant, someone was following her! They even tried to lock her in the restroom!" Keith Sterling immediately tattled.

A coldness flashed in Julian Forrester’s eyes, and a dark, dangerous aura instantly emanated from him. His voice was glacial. "Give me the surveillance footage."

A shiver went down Keith Sterling’s spine. ’Yep. Whenever Sierra’s safety is on the line, my bro becomes downright terrifying.’

Sienna Everett blinked, but she didn’t find this side of Julian Forrester scary at all.

Keith Sterling immediately pulled out his phone. "Here, this is the surveillance footage of Frank Lennon’s call. The audio is just too quiet, so you can’t hear who’s on the other end."

Julian Forrester took the laptop and imported the video file. His long, slender fingers flew across the keyboard as lines of code filled the screen, accessing some unknown system.

A dazzling blur of windows and text flashed across the screen, too fast for the naked eye to follow.

In just a few moments, the data had been processed. The faint sounds in the video were now perfectly clear.

Even though the phone hadn’t been on speaker, the voice on the other end could now be heard clearly—

"Frank Lennon, about what I asked you to do a few days ago, teaching Sienna Everett a lesson..."

It was a woman’s voice.

Hearing this, Sienna Everett’s brow furrowed slightly. ’That’s...’

Keith Sterling recognized it too. "Holy shit! That’s Ophelia Warren’s voice! Ophelia Warren was the one who wanted to hurt Sierra!"
