Chapter 259: Chapter 259: Sweetness Overload

Sienna Everett felt a little embarrassed after she spoke. Growing up, she had never made this kind of promise of a lifetime to Julian Forrester. Her eyes were fixed on his face, waiting to see his reaction.

But the man just stood there as if frozen in place, utterly motionless. He didn’t react in the slightest, not even a single blink of his eyelashes.

’What’s going on?’

Sienna Everett scratched her head, completely baffled.

The moment he fully registered what Sienna Everett had said to him, it was as if a dazzling white light had exploded before Julian Forrester’s eyes. His mind went blank for a second, and his heart stopped beating for an instant.

Sienna Everett’s words kept echoing in his ears—

Let’s spend our future second, third, and tenth anniversaries together...

Third anniversary...

Tenth anniversary...

He was used to preparing for everything in advance, having considered every possible answer Sienna Everett might give him.

He had considered that Sienna Everett might reject his pursuit and divorce him; he had considered that she might not have made up her mind and would think it over; he had also considered that she might give in, her heart softened by his injury, and try to be with him...

He had considered all sorts of possibilities, but he had never once considered this.

That Sienna Everett would talk about the future, about a future so far away...

She said "future"...

She said "tenth anniversary"...

Sienna Everett had placed him in her future...

Seeing that Julian Forrester wasn’t reacting at all, Sienna Everett waved her hand in front of his eyes. When there was still no response, she started to panic.

"Are you okay? Why aren’t you moving?"

’He hasn’t fainted again, has he!’

’Can you faint with your eyes open?’

"Don’t scare me!"

Sienna Everett nervously threw herself into his arms, on the verge of pressing the call button for a doctor!

As her soft, warm body pressed against him again, Julian Forrester’s eyelashes finally trembled. He was like a sea of dark ink—calm and undisturbed on the surface, but with a tempest raging in its depths.

His dark, deep eyes looked toward Sienna Everett, his voice laced with a tense uncertainty. "You... say that again?"

Sienna Everett froze for a moment, then obediently repeated her last sentence. "Don’t scare me!"

Julian Forrester: "...The one before that."

Sienna Everett: "Are you okay? Why aren’t you moving?"

Julian Forrester: "..."

Sienna Everett blinked her shimmering eyes and finally realized what he wanted to hear. Her cheeks puffed out in displeasure. "What do you mean? I agonized over this for so long I was about to go bald, just to come up with one sentence about promising you we’d be together forever, and you didn’t even hear it clearly?"

Despite her displeasure, Sienna Everett gave a haughty little huff. "Fine. Even though you didn’t hear it clearly, I’m just so good-natured and generous, I’ll do you the favor of saying it one more time!"

"I said, we didn’t get to spend our first wedding anniversary together, so let’s spend our second, third, and tenth anniversaries together... Did you hear me clearly this time!"

Julian Forrester looked at the stunningly beautiful girl in his arms, his gaze growing dark and feverish.

Neither closing a multi-billion-dollar deal nor gaining power envied by thousands could compare to the joy he felt in this moment. It felt as if the blood in his veins had stopped flowing.

"You won’t divorce me, and you’ll be with me for the Rest of Life?"

He was overwhelmed by the immense joy, yet still somewhat uncertain, afraid it was all just a beautiful dream.

Sienna Everett’s eyes darted around like a sly little fox, and she immediately went back on her word. "Oh, no, I was just playing, just teasing you!"

Julian Forrester’s eyes darkened. His grip on her waist suddenly tightened, pulling her more firmly into his embrace.

"Whoa, whoa, calm down!" Sienna Everett said immediately. Then, like a playboy teasing an innocent young man, she playfully stroked the back of his hand. "I was serious! I wasn’t playing!"

Julian Forrester glanced at the hand being teased.

The air was silent for a few seconds.

Sienna Everett tilted her head up, her pure, clear eyes shimmering like a pool of spring water. She let the playful look on her face fade, looking at the man with seriousness and focus.

"While you were unconscious these past few days, I learned a lot of things I didn’t know before. For example, this bracelet on my wrist... I found out you went to a temple to have it specially blessed, hoping to accumulate good fortune and ward off disaster for me..."

"Julian Forrester, you’re so good to me, you like me so much... but I don’t think I like you that much. This isn’t fair to you."

"I don’t want fairness," Julian Forrester said, his voice low and husky as he gazed at her quietly.

As long as Sienna Everett was by his side, he was satisfied.

He dared not ask for anything more.

"No, that won’t do!" Sienna Everett’s face was stern and serious. "Since I’ve decided to be with you, I have to treat you well. I can’t neglect you. No matter what, I can’t bully you."

Sienna Everett took a deep breath, as if she had given it careful thought, and looked at the man before her with great solemnity.

"Julian Forrester, I will try to love you in the future. I will love you as much as you love me."

"I will also try to be good to you, as good to you as you are to me."

In that instant, Julian Forrester’s heart began to beat uncontrollably and violently.

Bright sunlight streamed in through the glass, the dazzling rays falling upon the girl. Her skin seemed to glow, and the earnest look on her face as she spoke of trying to love him and be good to him made her seem like a beautiful, enchanting rose from the Garden of Eden, captivating his entire heart and soul...

’He would gladly lose himself to this, even if it meant his ruin...’

Julian Forrester leaned in, kissing her with an almost obsessive fervor. He kissed the girl’s rosy, moist lips with a possessive and aggressive force that brooked no refusal.

Sienna Everett was held tightly in the man’s arms, a slight pain on her lips.

She had never been kissed by him so fiercely, so passionately.

Sienna Everett’s fingers curled unconsciously; she couldn’t tell if she wanted to push him away or hold him tighter.

But in the next second, her body made the choice for her. Her slender, pale fingers twisted the man’s clothes, and she arched her slender neck as if in sacrifice, letting him take what he wanted...

The sunlight gradually slanted.

Tiny dust motes danced lightly in the sunbeams like mischievous sprites.

Sienna Everett picked up a small mirror nearby and examined her mouth. Her lips were red and swollen—he’d nearly bitten them. It was so annoying. How was she supposed to go out and see anyone now?

Sienna Everett glared fiercely at the culprit beside her, grinding her teeth in frustration. Then, she suddenly asked with a mischievous grin, "Is it too late to divorce you now, Julian?"

Julian Forrester raised an eyebrow slightly. "Too late, Sierra."

Sienna Everett tossed the small mirror aside and asked dramatically, "Then what if I had told you I wanted a divorce just now? What would you have done?"

Julian Forrester: "Then I would have gone back to being unconscious. Better to have never woken up."

Sienna Everett: "..."

’How can he be like this!’

Julian Forrester stopped teasing her and took her hand. His voice was husky and magnetic. "Sienna, we won’t get divorced that easily."

Sienna Everett: "Why?"

’Is it because dividing our assets would be too difficult?’

The man’s slender, elegant fingers gently slid between hers, lacing their fingers together. The way he looked at her with downcast eyes was exceptionally sexy.

"Whether you want me or not is one thing. Whether you can actually succeed in divorcing me is another."

"In other words, even if you want a divorce, I won’t agree to it easily."
