Chapter 257: Chapter 257: Julian Forrester, Let’s Be Together

Upon hearing Sienna Everett’s words, Julian Forrester’s expression remained impassive, but his pupils quivered almost imperceptibly.

It felt as if his heart had been squeezed tight. His eyes darkened as he gazed intently at Sienna Everett, his voice taking on a low, magnetic quality. "So, are you going to give me your answer now?"

Sienna Everett tilted her chin up haughtily. "You eat first. I’ll tell you after you’ve finished breakfast!"

Julian Forrester’s eyebrow arched almost imperceptibly. He looked slightly surprised, then lowered his gaze and chuckled, his tone a mix of resignation and indulgence. "Sienna, stop teasing me, alright?"

He sounded a little hurt, even a little pitiful.

Sienna Everett was instantly incensed. "Who’s teasing you!"

The man leisurely glanced at the breakfast on the table, then looked up at her delicate, radiant face. "Do you really think I have the appetite for food right now?"

Sienna Everett: "..."

"You have to eat, even if you don’t feel like it!"

’He’s so frail right now. How can he get by without eating?’

’Besides, don’t I need a few minutes to prepare?’

’In one of those cheesy idol dramas she’d watched, the girl confessed to the boy she liked in a vast sea of pink flowers. It was a little tacky, sure, but the setup was gorgeous and so full of sincerity.’

’If she told Julian Forrester she wanted to be with him now, in this cold, sterile hospital room, wouldn’t it be too underwhelming?’

’But there’s no time to arrange for a sea of flowers on such short notice.’

’Then Sienna Everett remembered another cheesy drama she’d watched. The boy confessed to the girl in a hot air balloon, ascending to an altitude of ten thousand meters... although they did almost plummet to their deaths in the end, so, erm...’

’Still, you have to admit, a hot air balloon would be pretty exciting!’

’Should I try to arrange for a hot air balloon on short notice?’

’No, no, that won’t work!’

’Julian Forrester is so frail right now, and his face is still so pale. I’d better not put him through any unnecessary trouble!’

Sienna Everett glanced at the cold, sterile room, then at the delicate and fragile Flora Forrester. She was so worried she could have torn her hair out.

When she saw that Julian Forrester wasn’t eating, she grew even more concerned.

"Hurry up and eat! Why are you staring at me?"

Julian Forrester watched her with a leisurely air, raising an eyebrow. "Sierra, what’s on your mind?"

"I... It’s none of your business what I’m thinking!" Sienna Everett was nothing if not stubborn, quickly making up an excuse. "I was just thinking... about what would have happened if you hadn’t woken up today."

At her words, Julian Forrester actually gave it some serious thought.

Sienna Everett regretted her words the moment they were out. She lightly tapped her own lips, blinking her wide eyes. "No, no, I take it back! I was just talking nonsense! You have to wake up!"

The man’s handsome face was still pale, and a faint blush colored the corners of his eyes from his illness. Seeing Sienna Everett’s utterly adorable display, he couldn’t help but let out a low chuckle. The way his lips curled was like a bewitching demon whose beauty could captivate the world, suddenly awakened among mortals.

Sienna Everett had always known he was handsome, but even she was momentarily dazzled.

The man’s voice was husky, carrying a lazy sort of sexiness. "I’ve thought about it. It wouldn’t have mattered if I hadn’t woken up."

Sienna Everett frowned. She didn’t like hearing him talk like that.

Julian Forrester spoke slowly, his tone the epitome of reason.

"You’re my wife and my primary heir. If I were to die, you would inherit all my assets and influence. You could live a life of luxury and do whatever you please. That way, I could rest easy."

As his words sank in, Sienna Everett was profoundly shaken. Her eyes slowly widened, and it took her a long moment to find her voice. "You... why would you think about things like that?"

A faint smile touched Julian Forrester’s lips, as if he were discussing the most normal thing in the world. "Isn’t it only natural that I’d consider everything for Sierra?"

’Consider everything for her...’

’Isn’t it only natural...’

’How is any of that natural!’

Sienna Everett looked at him, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. Her heart hammered erratically against her ribs, and a deafening roar seemed to fill her ears. Her voice rose without her realizing it. "You’ve considered so much, been so thorough—so why haven’t you considered staying by my side forever!"

Julian Forrester’s gaze deepened. "Of course I have."

’But he had also considered what would happen if he wasn’t around. What if someone bullied her?’

’Even if he were gone, he had to ensure she would always be all right.’

Sienna Everett’s long, thick lashes trembled. A fire seemed to burn in her chest, and her blood ran hot. She was both stunned and heartbroken.

’Why would he even think about being gone?’

Sienna Everett shot him an indignant glare, her voice trembling despite her efforts to control it. "From now on, you keep your mouth shut! And eat your food!"

Julian Forrester: "?"

After he finished eating, Sienna Everett made him rest while she cleared away the dishes.

Julian Forrester offered to help, but Sienna Everett flatly refused.

But when she finished cleaning and turned around, she saw Julian Forrester rubbing his forehead, his brow slightly furrowed. Sienna Everett’s heart leaped into her throat. "Is your head hurting? Are you uncomfortable somewhere?"

Julian Forrester shook his head slightly. "It’s nothing. It doesn’t hurt that much."

"How can it be nothing!" Sienna Everett was now on high alert over his every move. "I’ll get the doctor right now!"

A few moments later, the hospital director rushed into the room.

Sienna Everett immediately explained Julian Forrester’s headache.

The director quickly asked, "Mr. Forrester, besides the headache, are you experiencing any dizziness or nausea?"

Julian Forrester’s voice was low. "No."

The director slowly let out a sigh of relief and explained, "This headache is caused by the impact to the head. If the pain becomes unbearable, you can try taking some painkillers."

Julian Forrester: "That’s not necessary."

Sienna Everett asked worriedly, "Director, how can this headache be treated?"

’Is he going to have these headaches from time to time now? How awful would that be?’

’He can endure it without painkillers this time, but what about the next time? And the time after that?’

’It’s better to find a permanent cure sooner rather than later.’

The director explained, "Miss Everett, please rest assured for now. We will devise a suitable treatment plan and determine whether traditional Chinese medicine or Western medicine is best to address the root cause."

Sienna Everett: "Okay, thank you for your trouble."

Julian Forrester’s headache finally subsided after more than twenty minutes.

After the director left the room, Sienna Everett looked at the man’s sickly pale face, and her heart ached. ’If only Julian Forrester hadn’t saved me when the chandelier fell.’

She really didn’t want Julian Forrester to suffer all this because of her.

Seeing Sienna Everett’s sorrowful expression, Julian Forrester shook his head with a sigh and pulled her in front of him. "Don’t overthink it. It really doesn’t hurt, okay?"

"I’m not a child. You can’t fool me."

"..." He chuckled, a dark glint in his eyes. He opened his arms. "How about this: if Sienna gives me a hug, then it will really stop hurting."

Sienna Everett: "..."

’She wasn’t a child; that kind of line wouldn’t fool her either.’

But Sienna Everett still hugged him without a moment’s hesitation.

Not long after, Javier Prescott, Ian Prescott, and Evan Shelby all came to visit, having heard that Julian Forrester had woken up.

Seeing that Julian Forrester wasn’t in any serious danger, the three of them breathed a collective sigh of relief.

However, Julian Forrester’s face was still pale, so after staying for a little while, the three of them left so as not to disturb him.

Sienna Everett followed Evan Shelby out of the hospital room and asked, "What’s the situation with Shannon Everett secretly selling off shares of The Everett Group?"
