Chapter 1921: Chaotic Battlefield V
“We have to seal the portal.”
Grey and Chris knew their only chance of winning this battle was by sealing the portal so more Gnomes could not come in. Given the initial number of Gnomes present when the battle started and how Grey and Chris quickly killed off more than half of the Ninth stage Sovereigns present, the battle should have turned in their favor already. Yet after killing even more Gnomes, they noticed the number of Gnomes did not decrease, rather, it was increasing. The only explanation was that more Gnomes were trooping in through the portal. At this rate, if another Half God Plane Gnome were to emerge from the portal, then they were as good as dead.
The Half God Plane Elementalists that came with them were already preoccupied with the Half God Plane Gnomes that were already here, so if any more Half God Plane Gnomes appear, they could easily wipe out the Peak Sovereigns as well as Grey and Chris before helping out their companions that were engaged in a battle in the sky.
The shockwave coming from the sky was not something Grey could withstand if he got close, so there was no way for him to even try to cut the link between the Gnomes and their Puppets. The Gnomes in the Half God Plane were conveniently using their Puppets, while other than the Gnomes that encircled Grey and his Teacher, the rest also made use of their Puppets.
Yes, Grey could cut off the link between them and their Puppets, if he had the opportunity that is. At the moment, Grey had his hands full with the Gnomes that made it impossible for them to move with ease, so there was no way for him to even try to lend a helping hand to the Peak Sovereigns that were being forced to take more and more attacks.
The Peak Sovereign Elementalists noticed this issue with the arrival of the two new Peak Sovereign Gnomes as one of them fell. If the Gnomes did not have their Puppets, they were confident they could take on one or two at a time and even come out on top, unfortunately, the Gnomes could use their Puppets.
The leading Peak Sovereign on the human side came to the conclusion of moving closer to where Grey’s battlefield was, this was their only hope of forcing the Gnomes to take back their Puppets.
Grey and his Teacher were heavily outnumbered, both barely keeping themselves alive. Anyone else, even Peak Sovereigns would not be able to survive this long under the continuous attacks of these Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth stage Sovereigns. The duo have been able to keep their lives purely thanks to their speed. Grey’s impressive physique also came to play as he was covered in silver scales, giving him a different look.
Chris was once again shocked by this Student of his, curious just how many secrets Grey had. He was not familiar with the Vaergahl Family, so he did not know there were humans who could have this ability after refining the blood essence of powerful Dragons.
Grey’s aura became more bloodthirsty after his transformation, attacking and killing two Seventh stage Sovereigns with his bare hands. His bloodthirstyness scared the Gnomes, but also further improved their conviction of wanting to make sure he ended up dead. If he was this powerful while only being an Eighth stage Sovereign, they could not even imagine how frightening he would become after he gets to the Peak of the Sovereign Plane, or even the Half God Plane.
The seven Ninth stage Sovereign Gnomes’ expression became serious when they noticed the sudden spike in Grey’s speed, defense, and strength. Before they could still hold him back, but the moment he used the transformation, they could barely keep him in check, causing the death of two of their Seventh stage Sovereigns.
Grey and Chris had already killed two Eighth stage Sovereigns, so from the initial eight Seventh and Eighth Sovereigns, only four were alive, and just one of them was in the Eighth stage, the other three were Seventh stage Sovereigns, barely able to keep up with Grey and Chris’s speed.
The seven Ninth stage Sovereigns knew they could not continue to watch Grey kill their companions. Even though they were not scared of Grey, they knew once these weaker Gnomes were out of the way, they would be next.
Taking advantage of their numbers, one of them spread out and suddenly started making a series of complicated hand seals.
Chris was the first to notice it, “Stop him!”
He had a bad feeling from the hand seals the Gnome was making and felt once he completed it, they would be in danger.
Grey rushed in the direction of the Gnome since he was faster, only to be faced with a Puppet. He tried to cut off the link between the Puppet and Gnome, only to sense that the Puppet did not try to attack, self-destructing as soon as it appeared.
The explosion from an Eighth stage Sovereign, even if it was a Puppet, was massive.
Grey was forced back by the blast, blood trickling from the side of his mouth. He wiped off the blood, only to see the Ninth stage Gnome finishing his hand seals. A smile appeared on the face of the Gnome, and just as he was about to open his mouth, a shocking scene occurred.
The Gnome stopped moving, not just that, ice could also be seen forming on the body of the Gnome. It started from his shoulder, quickly spreading across his entire body. The Gnome did not even have the chance to speak, still smiling, he turned into an ice sculpture.
The other six Ninth stage Gnomes were flabbergasted by the sudden freezing of their companion. They knew Grey was not the one who attacked, nor was it Chris who was just sent flying. Looking around, they noticed a fast approaching figure, exuding a shocking chill from his body.
“Who is that?”
